I'm not sure about strictly govt pensions but I wouldn't be surprised. Everything military related is super cut and dry. No room for any sort of anything. It just is what it is. Also regarding TSP, mine got 100% of mine. Reasoning? My lawyer sucked.

Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that military retirement pension is not a bartering chip. It’s just something they get and just because. Also, even though she was in the army reserves and had college loans paid for in her contract, they played into the debt equation. So many things that still keep me up at night, and it was years and years ago.

They don’t stop cheating. I thought my ex would too. Well I hoped she would. Spoiler: she didn’t stop. It was like something out of the twilight zone to be honest. I was blinded by the IDEA of her and what I hoped she could be and I continued to believe her time and time again. It’s very sad but, you should try to move on. I know it’s easier said than done. God bless.

My ex cheated with at least 2 different guys, I had copious amounts of proof, fought the system and still didn’t win by any stretch. System is rigged.

Everyone be glad you don’t pay your ex part of your military retirement pension each month like I do. Getting remarried has no bearing on if she’ll continue to receive it. Ex is currently engaged to remarry and she’ll get that money for life.

This. When I finally started looking at my cell bill, proof in the pudding. It became an unhealthy obsession. This was 2016-2017 and my suspicions were correct. Even after she promised to stop, I believed her naively, and then it happened again with a new guy, new number. So when I saw hundreds of texts a day to a new number, enough was enough once confirmed.

My ex was the very definition of party girl. I was in the military when we got married and was on an intense deployment schedule and had to go back overseas a few months after we got married. While I was gone, she got severely trashed and was unfortunately SA’d by a “friend of a friend”. I was notified by my chain and came home (early) immediately, and subsequently ordered by my command to not communicate (or seek out) with the individual who had assaulted her; he was a soldier in another unit. …

The difference is, the BF has never been part of the kids lives on a day to day basis nor provided for them. He NOW lives with her and despite us having full custody wants to interject himself into the conversation. The difference is my wife is a daily caregiver for them as well as providing for their financial and emotional wellbeing. The history of the situation also comes into the equation as the courts were quite unhappy with the numerous bf changes and living arrangement changes over a shor…

The conversation has been very one-sided since she has asked “do you mind me including my bf” and avoided our reluctance and subsequent disagreement.

Part of the issues that determined custody was a lot of boyfriends in the boys lives over the years. Lots of moves and changes of schools etc. the court was not happy with the instability the boys have had. My concern is this could just be temporary like everything else. My wife has been in the picture for >5 years. On the flip side the courts found her incredibly stable.

My ex’s BF of a year wants to be included in the group chat with myself, my wife and boy’s mother. I am the boy’s father and have primary custody. We have politely told my ex we do not feel he needs to be included and have even suggested we could even revisit at a later time. After stating we did not want him included in the group chat, my ex then added him to the chat anyway without any other response. We then reiterated our original decision to wait and possibly revisit later, but then receive…
