She tried to break me. But I’m still standing—stronger.I’m in a similar situation except she got away with it all and was never caught, held accountable, nothing. Glad it worked out in your favor. The flip side is horrible. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/05/25 04:52 PM
I am getting worse, not betterI have a story very similar to yours. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/03/25 06:21 PM
I need some encouragement. My wife is divorcing me and I’m sad and mad and feeling so many emotions. I also have little kids.I’m sorry for what you are going through. I’ve been in a horrible situation myself. One thing I want to say in your situation is that it is better for you that she has made it clear that she does not want reconciliation. It’s very miserable for them to give mixed signals, breadcrumb, or similar things to that which keep you holding on to hope. In low moments I have begged my exw to remove hope or something similar. And she won’t do it. Even though she is remarried she still won’t. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/12/24 06:23 PM

My divorce broke everything inside and I don’t know how to move forwardI’m sorry for what you’re going through. I know how you feel. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/11/24 04:00 PM
I'm...very messed up.I see so much of what you say in what I’ve experienced and still experience 2.5 years later. You’d give anything to have your family back. 6 months after my divorce, in the middle of so much betrayal, not following rules and a million other extreme things she walked in my house uninvited, unannounced and hugged and kissed me and told me there’s no one else she’d ever want to have a baby with —-such an extreme thing to say especially given the circumstances and she was with the person she left me… | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/11/24 03:04 PM
I'm...very messed up.Hard for me to read bc I know how you feel and I hate for anyone to go through that. There is no pain like it. If your divorce is not final, please get an attorney. Please protect yourself. I’m not saying blow up and seek ultimate revenge I’m saying to protect yourself and try to get a fair outcome that doesn’t ruin your life. Don’t not do this bc you love her and don’t think she would be unfair. Don’t not do this bc you want to get back together. And don’t not do this bc she’s made you feel it’… | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/11/24 08:58 AM
I guess it's my turnSimilar situation here with the house. It’s horrible. In mine, she even got the kids to think it was all ok and no big deal. I’ve never seen anything like it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/11/24 03:21 PM
It’s been over 2 years and I still can’t seem to move onYour story has alot of similarities to mine. So many. So I know exactly how you feel unfortunately. I know the trauma from being betrayed so deeply and in so many ways, them being unaffected, getting away with it, even getting out of any negative consequences of it and actually thriving instead. Meanwhile you’re gutted and living in this crazy alternative life that you’re not supposed to live and you can’t escape it. One of my downfalls is that there were so many wrongs and so many betrayals tha… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/11/24 06:32 PM
Back to square one.I’ve been divorced 2 years as well. I hate her for the things she has done. Some of them are so unbelievable and the effects from them are hard to live with. But ultimately she got away with all of it. Despite this I still can seem to let go completely. Or detach. I miss her and our family and would give anything to have it back. I’ve had several times where I feel like I’m back at square one and all progress (which wasn’t much) was wiped away. And man that sucks so bad Don’t reach out. I did th… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/08/24 03:16 PM

How to survive the first days...?I’m in the US. All situations are different. And definitely take heed to good legal advice. Just from my personal experience, I would never again leave my self open to all the things that could go wrong between now and 5 years. It’s ruined my life. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/08/24 07:42 PM
How to survive the first days...?I’d never be able to get into it all. But, are you ok with her having another man in this home with your kids? The one you raised them in and have memories in. The one you’re still responsible for. She could do this immediately. Or at any point during this time. She’s already cheated on you. Once you’re out she can go even lower and just have that person there. Even around your kids. While you’re still responsible. She can turn into a completely different person. Not follow any rules with visita… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/08/24 07:34 PM
How to survive the first days...?Please listen. Do not move out until divorce is final. Do not give her that time period. I know what you’re thinking. You’re trying to keep normalcy for your kids. You don’t know how she would survive financially. Either sell the house and let her figure her part out on her own. Or she refinance in her name. Or you refinance in your name. I can’t tell you how important it is not to do what you’re talking about. I have lived and still living this nightmare. You don’t understand what you’re operat… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/08/24 06:21 PM
Separated and want to let house go into foreclosureSomewhat similar situation. It’s a nightmare. I’ll never understand how they could move someone into a house your making payments on and raised your family in. That has destroyed me. Had I known that would happen the house would have been sold immediately. I’m sure you feel the same way now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/08/24 05:57 PM
Random thoughts from a divorced dadAfter child support, rent, utilities, bills, groceries and necessities I have nothing left. Literally nothing. I had found a therapist that was charging me only $40 after insurance and was seeing him once every two weeks for about 4 months. It was ok. Nothing majorly helpful. But then my insurance started billing them differently and they increased my fee and I could no longer afford it as I could barely afford that. Can you maybe briefly explain EMDR though? | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/24 06:47 PM
To the newcomers here, listen to this closely. This may sound weird, but be somewhat grateful that she is saying she is done done done. I never got that. If I got something close to that it never would last and I would get mixed signals soon after. All the mixed signals drove me crazy and I searched and fought for either closure or for her actions to match words. Neither of those ever happened. And and now I just can only look at what the actions say. Don’t dig your heels in and fight for her. It gives her power and never lets her have any a… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/24 05:11 PM
Are you doing better than your ex?I’d like to believe that but she seems to always be the exception to this rule. She’s very beautiful, popular, and has had tragedies in her younger life that she can always fall back to use for sympathy. So essentially no matter the circumstance, she can do know wrong. She perceives herself as perfect and thus many others do as well. She also know has endless money at her disposal due to her new relationship/marriage. And worst of all, no matter what she does that by normal standards to everyone… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/24 03:40 PM
Are you doing better than your ex?These types of posts kinda trouble me. I guess it’s because for me, I’m doing far worse in every aspect. And if one only looks at that as the guide to who is the better person or who was at fault I think that leaves out so much context. In my situation, I spiraled because divorce literally took a bomb to my life and blew it up. And now I’m left to pick up all the pieces. I was tricked (I guess ultimately my fault) that my wife was just unhappy, I didn’t meet her needs, and that she didn’t want t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/24 07:04 AM
Nothing in this life is sacredI will look at those. Thank you for the resources. I really do appreciate it. You get it, man. I can tell. I see that you’ve been alienated too. There’s nothing like the pain from that. The techniques and tactics they use to achieve that will drive you crazy because they slide under many people’s radar bc they’re so insidious. And when you combine alienation with all the other it brings you to low points in life that you didn’t even know could exist. And I’ve heard so many times that they will s… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/07/24 05:40 AM
Nothing in this life is sacredYou make good points that I needed to hear and need to apply. I have brief periods of times—-few weeks or couple months sometimes——where I’m somewhat improved. But the relapses hit hard. Another thing worth mentioning is that there’s some pretty extreme circumstances in my particular situation that even my hardest efforts would barely minimize. Trust me, I know that sounds like the biggest excuse ever but I’m trying to give you some insight into the situation without going into details that coul… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/07/24 12:21 AM
Nothing in this life is sacredI’m sorry that this type of situation is the common ground we share. I truly hope your situation gets better. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/07/24 02:44 PM
Nothing in this life is sacredExactly as you said, she’s truly thriving and no accountability or remorse no matter how wrong or hurtful things she’s done. That’s something I just truly don’t understand. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/07/24 02:43 PM
Nothing in this life is sacredI appreciate your reply and insight. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/07/24 02:41 PM
Nothing in this life is sacredSo far she seems to always be the exception to that rule. Even in other areas in life when we were together. She always gets out of any negative consequence. In some ways she’s treated like a celebrity of a small town. As silly as that sounds it’s true. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/07/24 02:40 PM
In your opinions - Is it absolutely necessary to get lawyers and courts involved if we’re mutually agreeing to end it, and amicable?Get your name off the house by selling, her refinancing, or signing over. I learned this the hard way after it was too late. Unless you’re ok with her blind sighting you and moving another man into a home you have ownership in, memories in, sacrificed for, raised your kids in etc. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/06/24 07:07 PM
