Where I live its quite easy to find a great church, i'm very thankful for that (Sydney). It took a few weeks to find a good church when I moved. When searching i would try and search by core beliefs on the website e.g. "Reformed", "Bible-believing" rather than a specific denomination. Search r/reformed for other people's recommendations for churches in Dallas.

Ok sorry you’ve had those experiences. You need to find a new church asap. If you only hear from the word on Saturday by yourself and don’t regularly meet up with fellow Christians brothers as we are commanded to… you are as Paul says in Ephesians 4 someone who is potentially tossed to and fro by the world. You need people with you to regularly speak the truth in love. This is much more important than a wife yet. In fact, I think you’ll find that if the area is slim on good churches, the ones th…

Do you go to a good Bible teaching church and talk to people there? That + evangelistic programs to volunteer at, conferences, parachurch events

People like to share what makes them happy. For some people this is talking about their hobbies, showing you their car or showing a photo of the person they are in love with.

Read the book of John, then Romans. That should give you a decent theological base to start off with. Then find a bible reading plan and get reading. Reading the bible daily should be your priority

Marriage helps you truly understand what it means to be a self-sacrificial leader like Jesus because it forces you to have to care for another person at a level you likely have never done before. If you are working fulltime and can support 2 people, you are old enough to marry in my eyes. I'm a little concerned how you think Christians don't sleep around because of 'morality'. We leave sex for the context of a man and woman in marriage because that is God's good design for the world.

Matthew 28 is a good place to start 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Be careful of thinking that DESCRIPTIVE passages in the old testament are PRESCRIPTIVE. Joseph interpreting dreams does not mean you can interpret dreams. Israelites taking foreign wives does not mean you should take a non-Christian wife. If you truly believe that even Christian women are so dead to their sins that they are "unmarriable", why would you be so quick to believe the false promises of non-Christian women who are even further from God? If you were in a job interview for a $50k / year …

You didn't once mention your or her faith, bible reading, prayer etc. How can you expect her to be a Proverbs 31 and 1 Corinthians 7 wife, if you don't lead her in prayer + bible reading for her to see what it means to be under the covenant of marriage? You can be the strongest man physically (your strength numbers are pretty good!), but if you don't lead her in her faith, she is going to think you are a weak husband (assuming she is actually a Christian).

Did you lead your wife daily in prayer and bible reading? I would say that the best place to find a spouse is at church, do you attend a church weekly?

https://www.agapebiblestudy.com/Kings_1/Kings_1_Lesson_4.htm This website has a great table near the bottom that shows the direct commandments for Kings from the Torah and how Solomonn fails to adhold to them. Scroll down to this section: "Read the "Laws of a King" of Israel in Deuteronomy 17:14-20 and compare those laws with Solomon's list of failures in 1 Kings 10:14-26. "

Im not sure why anyone would want systematic theology posts here. Those needs are better served elsewhere. The needs of young Christian men who are relationally clueless because the pulpit is cucked is a need very few are addressing in an effective way. A post like this would be better served somewhere else like r/reformed. Brother, I write this post, because Man's greatest problem is separation from God, not separation from woman. You can't be a RP CHRISTIAN, without being completely rooted in …

Is there anything you want people to write about? I will happily write a thread on some topics you want covered edit: Check out r/reformed if you want to see some good posts and discussions about theology. This sub tends to be more about men finding out how to navigate relationships, masculinity etc from a Christian frame primarily, whilst also understanding how the world actually works. Strong, married, Christian men usually don't have the most time to spend on reddit. Hence you get losers comi…

Bad idea Go live in another country for a few years and attend a local church there if you want to find a wife from another culture. Don't just go somewhere, grab them and go back to the US

Your situation sounds almost identical to mine. Age, job, living away from family in city. Some advice: Replace the time spent reading the news with reading scripture/prayer/studying doctrine. If you aren't already, join a biblically strong church. Use your talents to help them as best as you can. Get involved in every event, be the guy that people can depend on for a friend. Similar to above, join a bible study. Prepare for it every week and be an encouragement to the group to really thirst and…

Interesting point you made about Eve. The reason that the serpent went around Adam and directly influenced her was to get around God's natural order of husband leading and protecting the wife. The first sin happened because Adam didn't lead his wife properly. Not sure I quite understand what you mean about not giving them the keys to destroy themselves. Its Satan who tempts us and tries to make us destroy ourselves. Would you mind elaborating on what you mean by marrying a woman is giving them t…

Are you a Christian? Marriage is the joining of two people to become one. If you truly choose a woman who has been saved by grace through faith, is now living a life that produces fruit, reads her bible, prays and is in complete service to Christ. You should have 0 concern that she will divorce you. If she does, its probably because you didn't lead her well, both in the home and in the faith. Also, if you truly are a Christian. Why would you care if in 10 years she divorces you and you lose half…

If he is on this sub, his plan for marriage should be a Godly woman. A true Christian woman that was raised in the faith, will still be a virgin at 18-25. No need to latch onto highschoolers I wouldn't ever date and marry a non-virgin. But I'm not targetting 17 year olds

I'd consider just being friends until she graduates high school. Just know that even if you have the absolute best of intentions, her parents likely won't see it like that. They will think you are a predator to some extent

Don't take outside ideas and squeeze them through the bible to get a tick of approval. Look at what the bible teaches and then interpret that. Read the Song of Solomon and you will learn that sex is a gift from God and what that looks like. You should find comfort in the beauty of your wife. However, be on your guard about lusting over women that aren't your wife and live in a way that will prevent that temptation coming about. Reread the story of David and Bathsheba. David actually stayed home …

A marriage needs to move "as one fluid entity" in vision, but not necessarily physically or by being the exact same/doing the same thing Your marriage's purpose should be: To glorify God. Love one another like Christ loved the church. Raise children to love Christ You should share these purpose statements and be fluid on that...

I go to church in a region with very good biblical preaching. All the 18-25 year old girls from my church with good theology, not a single one of them has bikini photos on insta. Or if they do have a photo with their friends at the beach, they are covered and its pretty modest. Might not be an immediate red flag, go on a few more dates with her and reassess.

Attend to church by myself ocassionally. Dont really know much people. Make some good male friends at church, join a bible study, serve at church. Church is more than just turning up to listen to the talk then going home. If you wanted to do that, you literally might as well watch a sermon on youtube.

For me its about a girl with the same values as me who I am attracted to. Thats a good start for pursuing a relationship. Interests are less important. E.g. I'd rather date someone who also shares a love for being physically active, whether that means golf, tennis, running, lifting, whatever. It's just important that they share that same value

Hobbies are a great way to enjoy the world God gave us. I agree with most of your post except For example, if you are an artist who never does anything with your art, either get involved in the art scene, sell commissions, or stop. Start by by going to church! Go to a church every week, get involved in a biblestudy there and use your talents to serve the lord first. Once you have that area of your life sorted then you can ask out a girl that takes your fancy. I think you have your priorities wrong, ditch the christian dating apps

Agreed. 3/168 = 1.79% of his week... Stay strong and be disciplined in your lifting, its less than 2% of your week potentially! One idea I have had though, is that when I buy a house with a big enough garage, I will build a home gym and then have a weekly bible study / gym session with some guys from church. Not only would have that help draw us closer to god, but it would be helpful in creating community among the men and hopefully spur some on to start being healthier and exercising more regul…

5-20 minutes of pleasure that hurts and disappoints your father in heaven. Not to mention, your future wife would feel worse about you having had sexual relations with someone else. Read into the scriptures that other people are linking a bit more carefully and reflect and pray about it . FOMO (fear of missing out) is normal as a young person but when you mature you will realise you aren't missing out on that much and people who make you feel bad for being a virgin or whatever are not worth pe…
