Very good points. The "nuclear family" model also puts all the power in the hands of the patriarch. In traditional societies it "takes a village" to raise a child. So even if the father fails as a parent, there are plenty of aunties, uncles, grandmothers, cousins, etc. around to pick up the slack and give the child some actual support and nourishment. It has a female protagonist that is mildly autistic and likely asexual, though this isn't stated outright. She has a hard time fitting into what is "expected" of women in society. Haha, you are like goals. I'm doing a lot of similar stuff but I guess I feel like I'm half-assing it. Haven't been consistent with fasting and diet. This is very insightful, but I can't afford therapy... I'm on a waiting list for a government-sponsored DBT program, but COVID has thrown a hitch into that (I think it's been over a year of waiting already). Ugh, seriously. One time while I was on the elliptical, I had a guy bring a mat over and set up directly (maybe 4 feet?) behind me. Do these guys forget that hardcore porn as we know it did not even exist that long ago? It didn't really become mainstream until the 1970's and the invention of the VHS, making it so men no longer had to go to seedy theatres to see this kind of stuff. Excellent post! I too have quit OLD for these reasons. I really miss OkCupid before it was bought by Match.com. I feel like that was the easiest dating site to actually make a connection with people, where people read your profile and were interested in your answers to the questions.
