He applied for his masters last year before we met. He can work and study at the same time. Yes he is relocating to somewhere that will open up his business contacts. I’m a qualified teacher who is now studying psychology. So it’s a different degree. Yes.

Also I am blessed enough to have a rather substantial inheritance in terms of property and interest every month and rent so whilst I don’t earn the same as a high flying businesswoman, in the traditional sense, I’ll be able to bring that to the table if needed.

I want to be his supporter and am happy in that role however I worry about what he wants… if being exposed to women in his masters programme or with his new start up venture, he’ll be exposed to fellow “leader” women and think I’m not good enough for him. I will never be a banker, lawyer or businesswoman … that I know

I’m in exactly the same sort of country! I’m only in second year so a long road ahead! I think it’s admirable that you put your son first. The great thing is you can always pick it up when he’s 16 or 17 and a bit more independent? Or I know some programmers offer learning at your own pace, so a module every semester instead of three

There’s a massive overlap between psych and teaching, it’s quite an easy cross over. If you’re interested in psych at all I can highly recommend it!!
