I mean it’ll be in my account statement that money was taken out if I put it under mattress… at least expensive thing will be my own something I can sell later

Thanks. My assets in stocks would be ~$500k, that’s the only major asset I have. No house or anything. It hurts to see all my hard earned money is gonna go away in a short marriage

Restricted Stock Units. I get stock grant that gets vested over multiple years. So while my account may show 1000 stocks, they are unvested and will next in 2024,25,26 etc

Thank you. I’m working on disclosures. It sucks to think that half of what I earned with my hard work over last 3 years will be gone. Initially she wasn’t thinking of getting a lawyer for her (no kids, no house, 3 yrs married), now she wants to hire one and asked me to wait before I send her a summon

Hey man, you’re not alone. I wish all the strength to you. I am taking baby steps. I just get super overwhelmed with so much disruption.

She hasn’t cheated. It’s the rage episodes that hit me a lot. My post history has more details but tldr 2.5 years married, she has lashed out in past over trivial things, I didn’t put strong boundaries by showing consequences, and the last straw was when she did it to my and my parents….i felt ‘seen’ by other people on behavior I’ve witnessed… this made me question the future, kids, and all…

I am yes. And it’s helping me to learn a lot about myself, the way I behaved and avoided conflicts. Rethinking about my values

I remember 2-3 times a year. Outside home, she doesn’t have friends or network. She is good at work, at times have regular-workplace issues with coworkers.

Thanks for taking time to reply. This is eye opening. Your questions have given me a pause, what if nothing changes, and what’s the cost. It’s some sort of residual affection that’s keeping me in a dilemma. And I feel for her, she hasn’t had an easy childhood and upbringing. Then I’ve to jolt myself out to focus on myself and my life. I have a lawyer and have started the case

They decided to never talk to her, bc they I think have better boundaries than me. They didn’t tell me what to do. But I could sense what they were implying. At times they get quite concerned if I’m ok.

I see. I suddenly feel I don’t what she’d say. I think she would be like no you’ve saved your 401K and you don’t need to give half of it to me. But I mean it’s money- do I don’t know how people think in such situations.

Would I still need a mediator? We don’t have major debts. Other than furniture and stuff we bought last year.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
