I understand completely. Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to fix this problem by yourself. Ultimately you probably need to talk to him and then decide if you can trust him, because without trust it's not going to work. And trust is really easy to lose, but very hard to regain, so if you still think it's fixable, you shouldn't let it fester too long. When you're too much inside your own head you're going to come up with doom scenarios and he might really have a perfectly reasonable exp…

RP bullshit is a dealbreaker to me, but I guess it depends on how this has affected you. If I were in your place and I knew all this, I would constantly be asking myself "does he really mean this or is he just saying it?" During every conversation I'd wonder if he thinks I'm just brainlessly repeating stuff or does he take me seriously for my own thoughts? If he already thinks you're just repeating stuff without a single original thought, how easy would it be to just dismiss your feelings/concer…

.... You don't think any of the examples I gave: (e.g. no discipline, bad decision maker, no financial literacy, no mind towards the future, wasting his money on bullshit, impulse buyer, falls for stupid shit like MLM's, etc, whatever, take your pick). have to do with the person? I am not talking about how much money they have, I'm talking about how stable they are and I literally touched on your point when I said: And to be fair, almost all those qualities are very unattractive EVEN in a rich p…

Oh, I completely understood where you were coming from. I'm getting so tired of men (mostly, but sometimes even women!) not believing that women don't want men to support them financially. Of course there are always golddiggers, of any gender, but the majority really just want stability and a partnership, I believe. I think this is also the root of the problem for many in the incel / redpill communities. It used to be women weren't allowed to work, own a bank account (or even own anything, real …

Yes she would, can you really not gather that from what she's saying? It feels like you're just trying to 'gotcha' her, but you're not reading what she's saying. It's not about the AMOUNT of money, it's about the stability. Let me put it differently, when someone can't support themselves, is miles deep in debt, makes terrible financial decisions leading to all sorts of issues, then it's still not about the money per se, but it does show a lot of red flags about his personality (e.g. no disciplin…

Well, in that case I'd say that maybe it's time to be on your own again, and eventually you'll find someone who does know how to work through issues in stead of running away from them. Sadly you can't really change or fix someone else. If this is who she is, she just might be a person you really don't want to be with. And make sure you don't fall into the sunk cost fallacy: just because you've been together long doesn't mean you should stay. Do what's best for you and be sure you know that leavi…

Am I the only one wondering what exactly he did to "stand up for himself" or am I missing something? This entire thread people are calling her a bitch but we don't even know what happened. Not saying OP is lying at all, but "I stood up for myself and she left" isn't much to go on. For example, if he stands up for himself by calling her names or acting aggressive, then of course she leaves. I would too. But if she was pressuring him into doing stuff he didn't want to do and when he put his foot d…

Oh absolutely, I didn't mean to imply otherwise, it's just that the poster in this thread asked how women fall for it, so I kinda just paraphrased there. Definitely plenty of female narcissists! I don't know how long it's been for you, and I definitely can't say that it's the same for everyone, but it took a long time to make peace with it. However, now I see red flags a mile away and I don't let people get away with bullshit anymore. Is it less trusting, or just less naïve? I'm not sure. Plenty…

Sounds like he wasn't just RP, he was a narcissist. Not the "looks at himself in the mirror a lot"-way, but actually NPD. It felt so good in the beginning, yes? It's called love-bombing. These people are very very good in mirroring their victims. And they're very good actors. You felt like you had so much in common? You never did. Gaslighting, DARVO (deny, attack reverse victim and offender), aggressive mood swings, etc. It screams of NPD. This has absolutely nothing to do with your intelligence…

I agree with the previous poster, and also: "People who don't respect me are not welcome at my wedding" is a very reasonable decision, imo. Idle hope, most likely, but maybe not being invited to your wedding might make them think a bit, open their eyes? Oh and what does your better half think of this? Have you spoken about it at all? Not saying it shouldn't be your decision, they're your brothers after all, but we are all just a bunch of internet strangers, so I'm thinking ask the person you tru…

I agree completely! I have been subbed on r/WitchesvsPatriarchy for a while now and it has such a good vibe. Hadn't heard of r/bropill before. I'll check it out.

Yeah, but it's to be expected, they don't seem to care much about what women say. So when a woman says no, they'll think "but she's being nice, so that means I do have a chance!" and then they start "orbiting" her on their own accord and end up blaming her for it.\ No is no. It's a very difficult concept.

I always wonder how people define "stringing along?" Are these women telling these guys "well just wait a week or two and then we'll fuck." Or did they say no, but continued to be nice to the guys, and the guys got it into their heads that, hey maybe I do have a chance even though she said no? Because in cases like the OP. She said no, and she's just living her life. He "befriended" her under false pretenses and is even complaining that she might "fuck some guy" at college. Like wtf dude, she ca…

This. And also don't blame her for it. See, this is what pisses me off so often. Many guys pretend like women string men along. The whole bullshit about women having so many orbiters? But she has been SUPER CLEAR with you. She doesn't want a relationship (yet). And then you lied to her about your intentions. She's not stringing you along, you're stringing yourself along. NONE of it is her fault. Either accept that it's not happening, treat her as a person (and not a walking vagina) and actually …

If you're looking for a sub that's actually about men (and not just raging misogyny), then r/MensLib is a good one. Been subbed there for a long time. Am a woman, and never had the feeling they're just hating on women, plus, they don't put men down either (which is something that happens on a lot of these "men's rights" subreddits, and it's arguably an even bigger problem than the misogyny, because it reinforces insecurity and self-hate, which then gets projected on women).

You know being generous is not just a monetary thing right? And it's not just about being generous to your partner. Willing to help people, being kind, offering advice, etc. Generosity of spirit. It's telling that out of my entire reply you picked one word and ignored the rest. It tells me you're not actually trying to understand anything, that you're just selectively looking for things to support your own ideas. So if you want to continue believing women only use men for money, then go right ah…

No, they don't need to anymore. It's the 21st century. Women can get an education, they can be employed. They don't need men for all that anymore. That's the point. Women are no longer dependent on men as they used to be. In the past, sure, getting married to a man, even if you didn't want him, would offer some protection and security. Now they can get it without men. Most women I know look for men who are kind, generous, emotionally mature. Men who care about their emotional needs, sexual needs…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
