Personally, no, I would not do this. There are two tiers of commitment. Lower: you will not trade for something of equal or lesser value. You are neglecting the concept of broadening the tax base (or maybe you are defeatist, I can't quite tell). In my opinion this is the best solution to getting the ultra wealthy to pay their fare share and get the deficit under control, and it seems to be supported by both parties. I guess my problem is that I don't think colleges or the lower education system are doing a very good job educating, and so don't think paying for them is always smart. At least not until they are reformed. I think it will add inertia to a system that needs to be quickly changed to accommodate the information era. Then we risk falling behind. Political discussion is very liberally biased but some good discussion happens sometimes. I'd love to find a better sub like it.

This seems to be a point of contention here. Some people want pure equality equality of outcome and others see gender dimorphism leading to things like this. Personally I think the government should allow for equal opportunity, but not take action when gender dimorphism leads to statistical variation in things like porn consumption, or STEM degrees. The argument against gender pay gap boils down to the fact that women statistically make less lucrative career choices. There is a gap but it's one of choice. My biggest frustration with this is that the one track minded feminist immediately turns this into a gender issue. It's unfortunate, but I find that the type of feminist in /r/feminism fits the female stereotype of arguing with emotion instead of logic. It's hard to take people like that seriously and I certainly don't think of them as equals.
