Dude, keep the lawyers out of it, they will bleed you dry. Try and resolve the issues amicably, consider a mediator, DON’T go the lawyer route, they are egotistical SOB’s that will use your money, and enrage the process!!

I would appreciate an answer to this….married 15, but also common law for 15 years prior. Her lawyer says she’s entitled to 30 years of spousal support, my lawyer says only entitled to the years of marriage. Same would apply to my pension benefits. When it comes to assets….Everything was purchased when together…..although they are registered in my name…she has equal use to them. So are they a joint asset or my asset, enclosed trailer, jet ski, ATV….all in my name….but she used it as well!!! One …

Question: common law for 15 of 30 year marriage. Live in Ontario canada. My lawyer says she only entitled to pension and spousal support equal to years married. Her lawyer is saying she’s entitled to the entire 30 years of pension and spousal first that timeframe. Who is right? Seems the marriage law is trumped by the common law? Anyone know the right answer? Lastly, how would they calculate spousal in both instances? Say 15 years, or 30 years. Your help would be appreciated

Narcissist….apparently that’s what I am. My son shared this with me after hearing my side of the Separation story. My X, says of me. Ironically, my nephew (recently separated) was also labeled are Narcissist by his X. Is this the latest trend for X’s? Despite this apparent flaw….I have been an amazing provider for my family? Again according to the X. So is that all I was to her “the provider”!!! And now she moves on with half of my blood, sweat and tears!!! I call absolute BS!!!

Question? I am in the midst of Separation…..I have been avoiding talking to her….I am not happy that everything we worked for is ..gone!!! When do I change my bank accounts, she is spending like nothing has changed!! I am afraid that once the 💰train is ceased there may be some backlash. Can you counsel me on when I should turn off the tap. TY

Question: She filed for separation, she is retired, I am the bread winner. All my paycheques go into our joint account. She has been siphoning monies from this account to a private bank account. Given she filed for separation, has no income other than me, am I within my rights to to STOP this by having my paycheque deposited into a separate bank account? Additionally, will the funds she is taking, come out of the final separation agreement. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Question related to Assets…..have car, ATV, Jetski…..expensive bikes…..they are registered to me. They were purchased during the marriage….who claims the asset, me, my spouse, or jointly? Again they are registered to me. Trying to establish what is my asset Vs here?

She just retired….is declaring zero income My income is in 150k range No mortgage No kids Usual assets, Honda truck, Toyota Rav….all paid for I have a pension 50k per year Work income 100k annual Savings…..400k House value 700k She wants house sold…..we split household items, THOUGHTS?
