This is actually in Pennsylvania, on the Delaware River valley. Most of the Delaware River runs along the PA-NJ border and the mouth is in Delaware. As OP mentioned, this area of the Poconos has a geography similar to areas of the PNW in terms of hiking. Among both men and women, there are better and worse behaved ones. If I stumble upon a well-behaved woman, I'll keep associating. But with how our culture combines with the female nature that all women are born with (the basis of AWALT), I'm not going to spending much effort meeting them or investing in them. It's not worth the resources or risk.

7th/8th grade was when school started to turn around for me. I got to actually have male role models in male teachers. I wonder how that factors in? Boys are known to be the problem children in elementary school, but not as a whole. Elementary school teachers are almost all women. Social media also probably plays a role. That's the age that girls start tearing each other to shreds socially. I imagine that's the reason(s) this study contradicts most studies like this.

Exactly. In fact, it is much easier to look after yourself when you are not also looking after a woman/children/mother/etc. Throughout my life so far, I've always been most healthy when most isolated from women. Male roommates have been a neutral/boon to my health.
