Huge difference. That man KNEW OP. He was OPs colleague. He hit on OPs girl and directly disrespected him by not respecting his boundaries or his girlfriend. Don't go fighting a dude because of some bitches. There is absolutely no consequence for girls when they become hostile with a man so they will cross the line like there was never one to begin with. Don't get involved because at the end of the day you're gonna get stomped for some shit that she said and she's gonna go on with her night like nothing happened.
