This is weird advice but try to find a good group of guys who have been established in the city. 1) Having awesome bros is a must at all times in life from 5 to death. 2) With a crew it's probably easier to meet more girls. I mean I have a scale. Clearly if the girl is off the floors drunk then no I don't take her home. But I generally have a feel for when I girl is WAY too drunk (I've walked a couple home because I didn't want to deal with a rape situation.) All in a days work.

I'm gonna assume you're going to a small engineering school like RPI. I'll be honest, I have no idea how that social circle works. The only person I really know that goes to a school with a ratio like that (he goes to RPI) is in a fraternity so he didn't have to bring women to know women.
