A lot of people are going to say this, but it has been coming up a lot lately and I really want people to say it once. If you want to start seducing women you're going to have to do these things. Keep in mind I just became a sophomore. A lot of the things I mention helped me out tremendously. Some of these points where things I wish I had done and saw other people do.

  • Join a sports team/frat/club/acapella/etc. - These things (especially in my life) have become my social circle. You have friends in your social circle, your friends have friends, some of your friends are older and they have off campus places. The older guys/girls throw parties, you go to these parties. You meet women there because you have mutual friends and so forth. My freshman year roommate was self-identifying socially awkward kid who joined the intramural club frisbee team. Believe it or not every so often they'd have parties with other club teams. Now he didn't necessarily enjoy hook-up culture, but some of his teammates who I know capitalized on this. I'm in a fraternity. Our weekends usually have at least one party that we can go to and for the most part, there is always a way to meet someone at these parties. Even if you do not hook up with someone (fuck, make out, etc.) you'll probably meet a girl and you'll see her around. Establishing that connection for later encounters will help in the future.

  • Take advantage of your discussions and smaller classes - With smaller classes most people recognize each other. A lot of the really hot girls I know I met in these environments. Some of these girls I ended up hooking up with, others became good friends and their friends became interested in me. If you establish a good ground with your classmates, you generally will establish good ground with the girls you are interested in.

  • Cold meetups outside of parties and class are usually done in dining halls and are well reciprocated during the first few weeks of college. As a freshman, capitalize on this time. If you make a good impression now, it will go a long way. Although you may not hook up with every girl you meet, if you can get them to remember you in a good light in the first few weeks and remember your name, it WILL go a long way in the future.

  • Don't let the Freshman 15 get to you. A majority of my hookups were before I decide to dreamer bulk to 222 lbs. If you balloon up, not only is the fat less attractive, you begin to sweat more and that doesn't fly. Eat well so the beer you drink on the weekend and the occasional super binge when you get the munchies don't make you look like Fat Albert.

  • Dress well. This isn't high school anymore. Abercrombie and Fitch with Jordans isn't going to fly. Neither are the clothes your mom bought for you when you became a freshman in high school. You don't have to dress like your straight from /r/malefashionadvice, but certain things (collared shirts, fitted shirts, khakis, nice jeans, flat top shorts, boat shoes, desert boots, etc.) all go a long way. Treat every day like an interview. You never know who you'll see on the street. An acquaintance from orientation (a girl who was more of a bro to me than a potential sexual interest or love interest) told me that she "judges guys based on how they keep there shoes." If the shoes are kept well, she felt like she could trust you. I took that a step further and did that for the entire wardrobe. Also the clothes make the man. Don't dress like a thug or a kid, dress like a man. Girls love men.

  • Fuck your anxiety. If you end up going to a big school or even a medium sized school, chances are you can avoid a lot of girls that you strike out with if you fucked up THAT much. Approach a girl in a setting that you deem comfortable (party, class, dining hall, etc.) If things go quiet or you come off as a creep, you can back off. If this was a party and she was drunk, chances are she won't remember your name or anything.

  • Also, don't be a fucking cock and take advantage of overly drunk girls. There is a difference between slutty and too drunk. You'll figure it out within your first few weeks of college. If a girl is too drunk, it is not your place to go in and start hitting on her. If her friends aren't around ask her if she's ok. If it is a party of one of your social group you know where things are so get her water. Generally girls don't leave their friends behind so they'll come back for her (unless they all got lucky, in that case she stays the night.) Whatever you do, don't even think about sticking it in, even if she asks. Rape is a serious issue and taking advantage of anyone in an overly intoxicated state is not acceptable. You don't want to be that guy that every girl knows as a rapist.

  • That being said do not be that drunk guy at a party. Being too drunk is a turn off. It looks immature and you say things you think are cool, but are sleazy and pathetic. Sleazy and pathetic are things that women and potential friends will be turned off by.

  • Finally just a general tip. Welcome to college. It's one of the most fun and the most difficult times of your life. You'll be nervous come day one. Embrace it, everyone is. Just go up to someone (you'll be in a freshman dorm most likely) and introduce yourself. Approach with a smile, confidence and a plan. Note things you like about yourself. Avoid things you dislike about yourself. Obviously have answers for any sort of question you see arising. No matter who you are talking to (male, female, transgender, gay, straight, roommate, etc.) be as interested as possible. Having friends every where is awesome. Remember college isn't always about the time you spend at parties getting hammered. There is A LOT of downtime between those parties (as little as a couple hours to as much as a week.) Having friends makes those times enjoyable. Grab lunch with them. And always remember to ask why when appropriate (Don't be that asshole that asks why when someone says they're from Topeka, Kansas.) The use of 'why' and 'how' isn't unique to questions teachers give to make sure their students understand the material, it is also a way to show that you are interested in the person and his/her story. Remember key facts about people you meet, even if it is just their name or where they are from or their nationality. The little things make people feel good. You make people feel good, they will reciprocate. Unconsciously they will develop trust. These are important, especially when you live so far from your family.

TL;DR Get involved in class and extra curricular, don't be a pussy (approach when appropriate), be healthy, dress well, don't be a fuckhead, have fun and don't rape girls.
