This is very helpful. I'm getting better. "Escalate to failure" keeps coming back to my mind and when I do "fail", I just laugh it off. It seems silly that a girl wouldn't find me at all attractive. So, I know it doesn't reflect on me. More closely related to what you're saying, I don't ask questions when planning a date anymore. I state things, just like many here on seddit suggest, and it works. If the details of the plan don't fit, the girl just suggests different details. Many people just wa…

My suggestion would be to talk about what you're passionate about and to phrase it as a question. Example? This is really great by the way, a playful invitation to share deeper thoughts.

The more options you have, the less you care. I'm finding this to be very true. I've become much bolder after gathering many options.

I get the feeling you're going to be legendary.

Lots of good advice. Thanks. Is there a way to ensure she doesn't bring along any of our mutual friends? Does it matter? I know a 1st date at a restaurant isn't ideal, but it was a place discussed before... that shouldn't matter...I was trying to make it hard for her to refuse when really getting to hang out with me should be the best part with no need for any excuse. I'm learning.

It may be a terrible move, but it's not true that it never works. I suspect it may be a terrible move because it assumes the girl has already made up her mind in the same way he has. She's open to the idea of being more than friends with him, but if backed into a corner to VERBALLY choose, she'll say no and friend-zone him. This is purely a guess on my part, but I'm curious if this makes sense.

Kino was the biggest missing piece of my old game (well that and being somewhat AFC). It's the most important thing in building attraction, IMO. This is a sticking point for me that is only just beginning to loosen up. What advice can you give?

Alright. So how about this? Sometimes before meeting people I keep in my "mental pocket" a couple of things I want to talk about. Nothing in detail, but maybe a question I want to ask or something interesting that happened or that I expect to happen. We could use one of these mental pocket topics as an escape-hatch IF need be. So, for example: "You look really cute in that dress" "................" ALL OUR FEARS COME TRUE "So, tell me about your trip to..." Maybe just having the scape-hatch hand…

So, if I give up on trying to flirt, things will naturally lead to something more attractive? I can sort of see how this happens. I'm concerned it will only make me rely on habits of conversation from platonic relationships. I'll give it a shot though.

Absolutely. So is everything I put in #2 just one way, but a way I'm thinking way too much about because I'm avoiding being direct? Very possible. I guess I fear not knowing what to say next.

I don't want to sleep with my best friend, my mom, or my dog. I don't have much trouble being myself, except that when talking to a girl I'm attracted to I'm not expressing that I desire her. So, in that way, I'm not being myself. I'm having earnest or fun conversations with women and it's great for connecting and learning about each other, but it's not advancing things in a romantic direction.

example? Sarcasm is the opposite of flirting because sarcasm is agreeing or saying something nice while obviously meaning the opposite. Flirting as its opposite would be disagreeing or insulting while obviously not really meaning it.

I agree. I'm not sure what the appeal is.

The results you're describing sound just like mine right now. I need to get rejected more.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
