All of this to appease increasingly high demands. Brother, find peace. It can't be healthy to mold yourself after arbitrary, surface-level demands.

Nicholas Eberstadt had an interesting talk on this topic called "men without work". The societal trend for men checking out is unprecedented and at higher rates than the great depression. Every year for the last several decades the percent of young male population in their prime working age checking out of employment has steadily increased. The USA is unique in one of the countries most affected by this, although other countries like Japan show similar rates with their hikikomoris. I'm young 20s…

If that was an option I'd choose it. I honestly don't think any of them are as degenerate as me and wouldn't want to fuck hookers and get blackout (which i consider a successful vacation)

I always thought this was interesting since Norway is a hyper-feminist society with probably a few years ahead of the USA. Do you see this trend continuing with younger generations than Gen X? Do Gen Z aged people also consider this approach?

I wonder how many people think like us. I gave it a dry run and really was a great decision. I'm trying to find a way to do it permanently by working for govt while I'm still in my 20s

They exist, but speaking as a 23 year old who went to a foreign nation a girl wanted me to stay in her home country. I told her i couldnt do it. She did not want a green-card, but would've if it was necessary to stay together. Many women prefer their home country and don't want green card weddings.

If you think hypergamy exists to any degree then it makes sense why you would be the hypergamous choice. More money, more status, more height (in a good majority of these countries). Worst case scenario you vacation in a beautiful country you've never seen before. It's worth it for any guy that has the means

Do engineers have any dating life whatsoever? Me personally, not really. I graduated and got remote work which is actually the worst possible route for a new graduate even though it pays well. Does it get easier after you graduate college? It's kind of the same for me. I commuted to school, and every class is like 15:1 ratio, so I didn't meet too many women in college either. Location will be a huge factor. My advice would be to get an in-person job in a major city so you are forced to go out an…

This belief is not supported by evidence and is not a widely accepted view. In fact, research suggests that there are many factors that can influence an individual's success in their personal an…

Most people do not think critically and regurgitate what they viewed on social media for that day. People don't read books anymore since their attention spans are too small. We have more free time than any other generation yet many are spending it on short attention span videos

I know this is sexist to say, but why do you think more men gravitate towards Math/Analytics? Is it all just "social conditioning" or are men on average just more wired to think in a step by step fashion on how to resolve issues? I can't say this shit in public despite being in a top company which has a 4:1 ratio of men:women Women, in contrast, seem to be better geared towards less rigidly defined tasks like socialization. That's my take on it.

Yep. I graduated college and moved out to Dallas and was finally starting to have a social life but I love my family and moved back to the East Coast. Social life died overnight. I've done what I can in the small town: Coffee shops, local bar, bike rides. But, I don't see any women my age (young 20s) I think I'll move out again but try to stay on the East Coast in weekend driving distance this time around.

That's true. I wish more people with the grass is greener mentality actually traveled and lived in another country for a month or so to see how much greener it really is. My country really is odd since we have a lot of immigrants that hold onto their backgrounds that you could be from almost any culture and there will be a festival for it nearby. Okay this is my mistake, actually. I always used the term "third-world" for countries which my purchasing power is drastically higher. I was using the term incorrectly and it looks like it refers to crime and poverty rates like you mention. So that's my bad, I never meant to say it with ill-intent. And yeah, I think for any European country you'll see higher emmigration rates to a wealthy European country before you see USA on the list.

Compare a widowed man with an unmarried man for a 5 year period at a certain older age (like 60s/70s) and you'll probably find they are both more likely to die than a woman at that age. That's my point. Men die younger than women regardless

As much as I want to meet women I will not make good impressions and will not enjoy dancing. Yoga is just stretching, kinda like lame-r gym. Only club I know by me is a strip club. I enjoy language learning if that's a thing women do. I mostly did it online though.

I think the ratio is just really really bad in my area. There are like 2 or 3 bars and the ratio feels like 3:1 men:women. Is this my area (Northeast small town) or is this bars in general? I might move out of state just so I have better odds. The gym is the same 3:1 men:women. My work is online but also 3:1 men:women. I sometimes study in coffee-shops and the ones I've gone to is some couples and then lonesome men hoping they can meet someone in a coffeeshop. Is there a watering hole where wome…

idk, inflation will hit you harder if you don't save. No idea why you think YOLO is still the smart strat. If you're maxing out your 401k every year and putting money in other investments on the side you can retire in 15-20 years which is really good. For generations people couldn't do that. My dad retired way early and I'm a much better investor than he was at my age.

I agree, although I'm not sure why being "harder" to date is a competition. If demand increases for dating foreign women, the supply is also increasing that I'm not sure how much it matters. As you mention, foreign women are happy to date foreign men for money, citizenship, whiteness, etc. I also think culturally differences plays a role, some women like westernized men and how they treat women. As long as both parties make good decisions I see no issues.

All these arguments and analogies aren't apt comparisons. A foreign woman isn't an amateur league while a western woman is the pro league. It's a dating market with demand and costs. If demand increases for foreign women their value go up. (I don't mean to be callous of peoples' value as individuals, but just making the reference).

People don't travel multiple states to find the Spanish cuties. They go to Mexico to find them. Source: me
