It’s not my fault you’re arguing a stance you can’t actually prove 😬 And again - why is it women’s fault if men are hitting on women “below” their league. Like, what do you actually want them to do about that?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 08:57 PM
1

Let’s see them
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 08:03 PM

Not. What evidence do you have to the contrary?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 08:00 PM

I believe men hit on women they want to sleep with/date. Why is it women’s fault if males hit on women supposedly so much less attractive than them?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 07:57 PM

Yes and it’s you bc you’re the one pulling stats out your ass

The “majority” lmao go outside

Didn’t get to the second sentence?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 07:32 PM

You literally don’t know what I look like. And what would be the point in telling you what I rank myself when your obvious response would be “AKSHULLY all females think they’re hotter than they are”
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 07:12 PM
1

Is there a reason you refer to women as females but men as men?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 06:59 PM
2

Again - attraction to looks when considering a relationship is like flour in a cake. You need other components but you can’t make a cake without it.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 06:59 PM

What’s a giga stacy?

Can I ask why that’s relevant

Getting an ectopic pregnancy aborted is the same as the autonomy to get shitfaced and beat your wife and kids?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 03:50 PM
2

I mean I literally don’t have the time to go through every single right men have stripped women of historically and still today. In Afghanistan today women are being forced to leave schools and quit their jobs. Reproductive rights are still being debated in the US and there a states where a woman can die from an ectopic pregnancy or be forced to carried a stillborn to term because of the laws. You’re harping on about alcohol being briefly illegal for everyone. And since when was drinking alcohol…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 03:11 PM

It adds to my statement that the majority don’t, unless there’s a financial incentive
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 02:58 PM

Lol men got sad they could no longer get drunk and beat their wives and kids. Talk about the trash taking itself out.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 02:57 PM
2

“The background to this is that much drinking went on in male-only gathering places in 1874, and working-class men too often went straight from the factory gates to the saloon on pay-days, and drank away much of the money that their families needed to survive. Much wife-beating and abusive parenting was done when husbands were drunk. Even many well-off middle-class and upper-class wives (who were not victims of spousal abuse, and whose economic situation was not threatened by their husbands' dri…

Yeah you’re still ignoring the fact the average age gap is only a couple years. Given that I’m the same age as my boyfriend I think I’ll be fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 02:49 PM
1

Yeah, doesn’t change the fact the average age gap is only 3-4 years so if you’re single in your 40s, your dating pool is women in their 40s, maybe mid-late 30s. And I’m saying this as a woman who’s 23. I have 0 interest in a guy more than 7-8 years older than me. They’re simply not attractive to me and we would have very little in common. If I was a different type of person and the older guy in question had a ton of money? Sure, maybe, but that’s not the average old guy

Plenty of men here seem to be trying 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 02:39 PM

How come
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 02:36 PM
1

Ok where did this delusion come from that when you hit your 40s you’ll have a swarm of women in their 20s begging to date you? Unless you’re extremely rich and/or handsome, you’ll be in the same boat as single women in their 40s.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 02:35 PM
1

Eh it’s just a thought experiment, it’s whatever. Probably easier to say it’s your mind in a heterosexual woman’s body
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 02:30 PM
1

Sure - but with uglier guys who are insecure, if they start dating a girl out their league they often become neurotic and controlling, even trying to make her less attractive, encouraging her to gain weight, wear less makeup or more frumpy clothes. Or they try to wear down your self esteem so you don’t get any funny ideas about leaving. I agree with your second statement. But my issue is with the automatic assumption that if you give an ugly guy a chance he’ll treat you well.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 02:29 PM
1

Average to ugly men are just as capable of treating women badly and have more incentive to as well. Telling women to drop their physical standards and they’ll find a nice guy is bs.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 02:17 PM

Ugh put this in a billboard plssss I swear every woman I know has been scarred by the time she gave an ugly guy a chance 😂

I’m already in a LTR and me being slim and toned puts me in the top maybe 50% I’d guess. But I work out because I want to be healthy and live a long life where I’m fully mobile. I have family members who are obese and their lives would be far less painful and restrictive if they weren’t. I also find it a great stress relief and amazing for my mental health. That’s more important to me than finding a husband. As for body count, just down to personal preference. I’ve been called “demisexual” befor…

How exactly are women depriving men of rights? Women experience a 33% loss in income post divorce compared to men’s sole 18%. Men are also much more likely to remarry after divorce and usually do so much sooner.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 01:38 PM

It’s interesting how their answers are very much influenced by simply how they wish women would date them

Depends on which country. A lot of countries people have sex selective abortions which skews the numbers.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 12:31 PM

That’s fine but I think there are other incentives for staying fit and being selective with who you sleep with. I’m low body count and workout a lot (I’m 5,6 and 125lbs) but not to appeal to men, it’s just how I’m wired. Isn’t this subreddit largely just men crying about women’s preferences?

Men die in the wars…instigated by other men. The draft ended in the 70s so miss me with that Men commit the vast majority of violent and sexual crimes They die in jobs that they signed up for Women are on more welfare because of deadbeat dads who can’t/won’t look after their kids How do they pay more taxes ..? Idk how it works in the US but in the UK you purely pay taxes based on your income. So if they pay more taxes it’s because they make more money. Most of the dangerous/dirty jobs are being …

I’m not afraid I just simply don’t want it. I’ve also witnessed women who’ve divorced their husbands as previous SAHMs being massively screwed over financially as it’s incredibly upsetting to see. It’s not fear - just risk mitigation. And my broad assumption is based off endless stats about todays cost of living. In my country, food inflation is at 19% and inflation is at 6%. Im fortunate enough to have a good job and even I have to be wary of my money.

In 2021, the population sex ratio in the U.S. was 98 males per 100 females. By 2050, it is expected to be 99. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2022/08/31/global-population-skews-male-but-un-projects-parity-between-sexes-by-2050/ And in the UK the population is 51% female and 49% male. Not sure where you’ve seen a gender divide of 55/45 unless that’s specific to your country.

the environment is a shit show, it’s going to get bad in our lifetimes and far worse for future generations it’s far less affordable to have children than it was for our parents generation I just… don’t want to? I like kids, I’m good with them but I have no desire to solely dedicated the rest of my life to raising them. It would be cruel to bring children into the world if they’re not 100% wanted. a lot of parents are deeply unhappy, you just don’t hear about it. like I said, I used to be an au …

Being child free/not wanting to marry a bible basher doesn’t mean someone’s only other option is to be a slut.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 12:04 PM

Good for you (genuinely) but not everyone can or wants to opt to the suburbs or lives in your country. And again, it’s a big gamble to be financially dependent on your husband. It can either work out great or torpedo your entire life.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 12:04 PM

More and more women are opting to be child free I’d rather be a “ran through whore” than stuck in a miserable marriage with a bible basher who only sees me as an incubator 🤷🏼‍♀️

Where’s the joy in that?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 11:54 AM

Not sure how fun those types of men would be to marry lol. Five minutes of missionary in the dark doesn’t quite cut it for me.

I think it depends where you live. A lot of cities have zero sense of community so you’d be very isolated with a baby unless you lived near family. Again though, most women can’t be pure homemakers even if they wanted because of how dire the economy is. I also think it’s a huge gamble to entirely financially dependent on your husband.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 11:48 AM

Maybe men just have an absurdly high sex drive. Sounds inconvenient to be that down bad all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 11:43 AM

To have a family on a single income means the father is typically making very good money. I’d be bored out of my mind, I used to be an au pair and kids aren’t really great conversation

/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 11:36 AM

I’m not saying women have a sex drive as high as mens, I think I made that fairly clear. I’m just questioning your rationale behind saying women have an “absurdly low” sex drive
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 11:35 AM
5

How would it fall apart exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 11:33 AM

Marrying in your early 20s makes you far more susceptible to getting divorced
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 11:31 AM

And I met my bf through university friends when I was 21. But I didn’t go out of my way to find someone who was guaranteed to be successful so I could hitch myself on their coattails like you’re suggesting.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 11:08 AM
5

While women on average have a lower sex drive than men I don’t think it’s “absurdly low” for the majority of women. We’re wired to be choosier as we face the consequences of sex (pregnancy) but I’m not sure where you’ve read we’re all practically asexual. If you go on deadbedroom subreddits you’ll find many women struggling with wanting sex more than their husbands.

/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 11:03 AM

There’s a lot of anecdotes of women who’ve “built” with men only to be thrown to the curb once they’re successful and replaced. A lot of people from top universities also come from a lot of money. I didn’t go to a Harvard equivalent but a top 10 uni in my country and I knew a lot of people who wouldn’t date someone who didn’t go to a university on the same level. If you come from money which a lot do, status is a big deal.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 11:02 AM
5

Yeah but if someone it’s unattractive/ugly to you, “giving them a chance” is just leading them on and it’s kinder to just politely reject them from the get go. That’s how I’d want to be treated if I took an interest in a guy that didn’t find me attractive 🤷🏼‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 10:14 AM

Do they not..? Most people can see someone and right away know if they’re you’re type (if you have one) and whether or not you find them attractive

Met my bf who I now live with through university friends so yeah you maybe right
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 09:50 AM

If you were an attractive or even just average women I don’t think you’d have the time or capacity to get to know everyone single guy that takes an interest in you. Also, I think it’s logical to say that attraction is important when looking for a relationship, it just doesn’t necessarily mean having crazy standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 09:41 AM
18

I respect that lol, but a lot of guys here seem to think even attractive women morph into gargoyles the day we turn 25 (maybe 30 if we’re lucky)
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 09:25 AM
11

Do you have an issue with women doing this very thing?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 09:25 AM
12

So you would also participate in hypergamy? Also - Harvard/Yale students typically only end up marrying women with a similar level of education and success as them. In the UK equivalent those types tend to look down their nose at people who haven’t attended those schools.

It’s simply a cultural thing. A lot of cultures it’s normal to live with your parents until you’re married. It’s more common in the west to move out for college and basically stay out. I moved out the month I turned 18, the longest I’ve lived at home since then is 2 months after graduating when I needed to save money for a flat deposit (I was WFH and paying for food shops/bills). I don’t see anything wrong with living at home at 30, it just wouldn’t be compatible with me and my life, whatever th…

It’s so funny how they don’t understand this until they get aggressively hit on by a gay guy. Nice, now you’ve got a tiny taste of what we’ve been dealing with since before we hit puberty - not so fun is it! Also, we always hear about how most men would fuck just about anything with a pulse. So for someone to find you fuckable really isn’t complimentary in the slightest.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 08:45 AM

I wish more guys realised this. Vast majority of women would date an average or even below average looking guy who’s funny and can hold a good conversation over a hot guy who’s dull. I know guys who are tall and decent looking but so unpleasant and boring that they don’t get into relationships, or at most they’ll have a fling here or there and then the girl dips once she realises there’s nothing underneath the pretty packaging. I can’t imagine being with someone who doesn’t make me laugh or have…

Are you sure this subreddit is conducive for your well-being? You might benefit more from talking to people in your life about the suicidal thoughts. Take care
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 07:52 PM

It’s normal to crave intimacy and affection, it’s what most of us are wired to do. I’m not going to gaslight you because I can see how it would be hard in your shoes. But it’s not an indicator of your worth and nothing you need to be ashamed of.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 07:18 PM

I mean yeah if the attraction isn’t mutual then call it a day
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 06:50 PM

I knew a guy at uni who was upfront about being a virgin and we respected him a lot more than the guys who were clearly lying/exaggerating about their sexual past. Nobody cared he was a virgin and in a few months he got a gf.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 06:49 PM

I think 3-4 times in my life a guy I didn’t sleep with claimed to other people he slept with me, and those are just the ones I’m aware of. They were guys I was either friends with (obviously not anymore) one of them I went on one very uneventful date with and one I just kissed at a bar. I know a few other women this has happened to as well. My ex claimed to have a body count of 30 when he was 20 and thought every waitress we ever had was flirting with him (not a single one was) Some guys bullshi…

/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/23 06:10 PM

“We’re all slaves to our biological urges” aren’t we all wired to have children? Basically the whole premise of wanting to sleep with multiple women is to have as much genetic offspring as possible

Do you have a source for this fact? When you said “women should accept this and date men” like… they’re under no obligation to accept this
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/23 06:02 PM
1

Again, it’s not a fact as it’s just you speaking on the behalf of all heterosexual men. And if women choose not to accept this “fact” and not date men… not much to be done about that
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/23 05:56 PM
1

you say “women shouldn’t date men if they can’t accept this fact about them” but then 90% of this sub is men getting mad about women not dating them. kinda seems to be damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/23 05:51 PM
1

I mean, I just don’t really believe that all men want a harem. I’d mention the men in my own life but you’d say they were lying but I’ve seen other men here they don’t care about being able to sleep with a myriad of women they just want the love of one woman. If that’s what you want that’s fine, but you don’t speak for all heterosexual men. We’re not all slaves to our biological urges otherwise gay and asexual people wouldn’t exist as well as people who have no interest in having children.

Just that you grouped all men as hive mind and then said women shouldn’t do that very thing in the same post lol. If that’s how you feel, I can’t change that but we can agree to disagree

“All men on earth would rather have a harem of women” “Stop seeing men as all together” ?? Even so, I think after time there would be resentment that your partner is only your partner because you couldn’t find anyone else. I think the beauty in monogamous relationships is the fact you choose that person because you couldn’t imagine yourself with anyone else.

Like I said, I’m just speaking from experience. I’m not a model but I’m not busted either. I don’t really believe in objective beauty but I work out a lot, and I get approached by guys a lot. In the past I’ve dated guys less attractive than me because we initially got on well and I figured that was more important than superficial looks. I always found eventually they’d start making digs at me to knock down my self esteem and generally just treating me badly. My bf of 3 years who I now live with …

People change. I’d assume those men weren’t slobs when they initially got married. My ex gained 10kg in 6 months and idk if it was the weight gain or he showered less but he always smelled musty to me and that put me off sleeping with him. Was I supposed to magically know what he’d be like in the future when I started dating him..?

You realise that a woman can find someone attractive but not want to jump in bed with them immediately?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 11:50 AM
1

It exploits the performers: Look into ‘girls do porn’ - they lured girls in making them think it was a modelling gig and would then drug and rape the girls and film it. So much porn involves women being coerced/trafficked. It is extremely common for performers to thrown curveballs mid shoot and told to either do it or perform (eg. they didn’t want to do anal and then they’re suddenly told to do it or not get paid for the work they’ve done that day) A lot of performers are given a hard time if th…

I agree. Anything can be over consumed and become detrimental if you don’t have healthy coping mechanisms in place to mitigate it. By some of these peoples logic we should all live like puritans due to some people who can’t or won’t control themselves. No alcohol, drugs, nicotine, junk food, gaming, painkillers… list goes on
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 09:58 PM

A scam implies you paid for something you didn’t get. How is that applicable here? You pay for content, you get content

Where are you from that it’s normal for a 31 year old to date a high schooler..? I know it happens but it’s not normal or okay

I think the issue is believing a girlfriend will solve all of your mental and emotional problems. Having a partner is a great addition to your life but it doesn’t protect you from ever feeling a negative emotion again.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 10:52 AM
1

I guess my point is - not all consumption of porn is inherently negative. I guess it was a poor comparison because the best amount of smoking you can do is none, whereas I don’t think watching porn now and then has any negative impact, otherwise nearly 90% of men would be in a bad way.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 06:44 AM
2

Given how many women in porn are being trafficked - yes. “Girls do porn” was proven to be trafficking women by making them think they were doing an innocent clothes modelling gig, and then giving them a ton of drugs and beating them until they shot enough scenes. There’s also a lot of cases where pornstars boundaries are pushed (a producer will say a scene only involved XYZ, and then demand on the spot she does something else or she doesn’t get paid) as well as a lot of producers getting shitty …

/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 06:17 AM

What’s your issue with that statement, exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 10:31 PM
5

Ohhh right, got you. I get these women are good at providing “the girlfriend experience” but end of the day… that’s what you’re paying for. If they’re that convincing, then they’re clearly worth the money.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 10:29 PM
4

I’d wager a guess that they’re just on about viewing women as humans the same way we view men rather than sex objects
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 10:26 PM
2

What does equal mean to you in this context?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 10:24 PM
5

I agree that porn should be better regulated in terms of the age of those who can access it. It installs a lot of negative perceptions around sex in children from a very young age
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 10:20 PM

And that’s relevant how?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 10:19 PM
6

Also - so much of porn is free, it’s bizarre to me why you’d pay for it
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 10:08 PM
3

That’s fair. I know I couldn’t do OF in a million years even if I could make a killing. So I don’t do it or engage with that content. I don’t condemn the people who do make it, either. I guess that’s where I’m wondering what I’m missing.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 10:06 PM
3

I can see that. A lot of things are used to fill a void caused by loneliness - food, alcohol, drugs, nicotine, gaming… you name it.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 09:57 PM
5

You can blow all your money on just about anything, it doesn’t make it exploitative. That’s a choice you make for yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 09:55 PM
9

I used to work with a girl who did OF and she told me how common it was for men to haggle over prices or even ask for freebies 🙃
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 09:54 PM
18

Exactly - it’s a service in exchange for money. I’ve paid a therapist to hear me talk about some very personal matters but I’ve never been under the impression she genuinely cared beyond a human generally hoping another human is okay. I was paying her to help me work through some stuff, that’s what she did. It’s not her fault I went through the things that landed me in her office or that I needed professional help for a bit to sort out my head. She provided a service there’s a demand for.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 09:51 PM
2

Yeah, exploitation/scams come in many forms for people who aren’t equipped to recognise them. Idk if a realistic solution is to simply eliminate everything that could result in someone overspending. Tbh, I wasn’t even thinking about men who spend a ton of money on sex workers. Isn’t OF like $10 a month?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 09:44 PM
20

Why would you think a girl you’re paying to talk to actually cares about you? Like that kind of seems like a no brainer.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 09:38 PM
9

I definitely see how exploitative sex work is towards the workers - but a lot of men here seem to think it exploits the consumers
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 09:27 PM

People have sex out of mutual attraction - not to play some long game to secure marriage. After all, how many women have sex with men that don’t commit to them? Women also crave sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 07:02 AM

Yeah you talk about women getting married bc they think sex won’t be “required” of them. A. Women are constantly being told that if they don’t sleep with their husband enough he’ll find someone who will B. The word “required” implies she was doing it out of duty/wanting to keep him around beforehand, but now she’s married she’s off the hook. Which presents women as not enjoying sex with men which isn’t the case.

A lot of guys care if you’re too tall though. I have tall friends (5’10 and up) who’ve struggled with dating. Not because they only want to date guys taller but because a lot of guys around their height want a short girl. I’m 5’5 and 1/2 and have been told I’m “too tall” for someone 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/23 06:36 AM

A lot of you need to learn about the matching hypothesis. The majority of the time, people end up with someone the same level of attractiveness as them. There are outliers like with anything, but they’re exceptions to the rule. If you seriously think all these uggo women are landing handsome men clearly out their league, you clearly don’t go outside enough.

You realise women enjoy sex… right? We’re not trying to squirm away from it at every possible moment.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/23 09:58 PM

I assumed you cared about both. Again, depends on the individual. When I was single I never gave the time of day to a guy unless he showed consistent, keen interest and made it clear he wanted to pursue a relationship. If not, fair enough to him but I kept it moving. Withholding commitment and using shit tests to gauge how a woman feels about you is not conducive to a healthy relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/23 04:45 PM
1

Short of mind reading there’s no way to know if someone’s with you for both fun and commitment. If you know yourself and that you’re able to give both, you just trust that your partner has the sense to recognise and appreciate those things. Withholding commitment usually results in the person finding someone else who won’t. Most wouldn’t don’t want to be strung along in order to soothe someone’s insecurities

If your hard rule is that a woman can only be a virgin and even one previous partner is too many - the average age a woman loses her virginity is 17 so is that the pool you plan to be dating in? Neediness and jealousy are not good things in a relationship… I love being around my bf but we can also do things separately with our friends without one of us having a meltdown over it. Fun and commitment aren’t mutually exclusive things. I have lots of fun in my LTR - in fact, a lot more than I did wit…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/23 03:06 PM
3

There’s a middle ground. You can be not a virgin but that doesn’t mean you’ve had an endless string of ONS with “Chads”. The average body count for women is 7. I think men here vastly overestimate how many women are having regular hookups with new men all the time. Some do, but they’re far from the majority. Teaching someone who’s never been in a relationship how it goes would involve dealing with a lot of neediness, jealousy and poor communication most people have with their first relationship.…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/23 02:32 PM

Guess it depends on the individual. Guys in my circle don’t want virgins or someone who’s never been in a relationship because they typically lack experience/maturity which isn’t ideal for a LTR. Most people’s first relationship is a bit of a disaster that they then grow and learn from. It’s effort having to teach someone how sex and relationships go. At 17/18 I was “young” and “pure” but completely not in the right headspace or maturity to have a LTR. Also, being good in bed usually comes with …

Depends how the guy deals with it. My bf had a rough long term relationship before me he carried some baggage with (paranoia/trust issues) When it caused problems with us, I set an ultimatum that we could only continue being together if he saw a therapist to unpack the issues he had with his ex. He got a therapist, and things have been smooth sailing with us since. Had he been unwilling to get help/expected me to be his therapist, I would have ended it there and then. Depends what you mean by “nice”. Women who are nice but are people pleasers who struggle to assert themselves and set boundaries usually end up with people who take advantage of that. You can be nice while having a backbone and not being afraid to cut off people who try to use you, but you won’t be perceived as “nice” by quite so many people. Again though, being “nice” doesn’t entitle you to sex or a relationship it’s literally just the baseline of being a pleasant, functioning human - goes for …

Lol you really dug into that sub to find a post from nearly a year ago Not really - you never addressed my point that you’re here making absolutist statements about domestic violence when you know nothing about it. The best response you got is because you’ll never find a gf, you don’t need to know this stuff? And nope, I’m 5,6 and my bf is 5,10.

I mean, decent parents should teach that you should be good/respectful to anyone regardless of gender? It’s hilarious that men here are genuinely mad that mummy told them how handsome they are and that they would have ladies fighting over them when they grew up and it turns out they were wrong

How is the onus majorly on the person being abused? Also you realise in instances of physical abuse, women are far more likely to be hurt/murdered after leaving

Yeah that doesn’t make anyone exempt from being abusive/nasty to their partner. The onus is on them.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/23 04:21 PM

That’s just women you know. I believe that men can absolutely be abused and mistreated and it’s a shame how much more stigma is attached and less help/support available. The fault isn’t with the victim, it’s with the person who has decided to be shitty to their partner.

Body type preferences are more diverse though. It literally depends on what the guys type is, some men love curves, some prefer a slim, toned body. That said, I think most guys vastly overestimate how big they need to be to satisfy a woman. For most women anything over 7’ is uncomfortable.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/23 10:18 AM
1

I’m don’t read that sub very often so I’ll take your word for it ig. People always debate over the semantics of RP ideologies/views of women anyway Every woman I know would be grossed out by a guy insisting on knowing her body count because it’s indicative of a set of views he holds about women
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/23 08:31 AM

Not every guy who treats women poorly is necessarily red pill. Wym with the second statement?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/23 08:26 AM

Idk, I think there’s been a big pushback on social media for girls to be aware of red flags and generally making fun of RP guys. Idk any woman who’d ever knowingly date a RP guy or just a guy who views/treats women the way a RP one does. One time a guy I was dating asked about my body count and would nottt let up so I dumped him. I’d only slept with one other person but the fact he had such a bee in his bonnet about it told me we were not going to workout

Bringing in height is a false equivalency but there are reasons for wanting a tall guy. Being tall is also more of a masculine trait, whereas virginity isn’t. It just means you haven’t had sex, it isn’t exclusive to either gender
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 11:36 PM
9

Exactly, we are all entitled to whatever preferences we like, hypocritical or not. Just don’t be shocked when it doesn’t work out for you
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 11:24 PM
1

Because the OP is a discussion about the topic
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 11:20 PM

Virginity isn’t exclusive to either gender, though. It’s not an inherently masculine or feminine trait it just means you haven’t had sex
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 11:19 PM
42

You keep defending the semantics of the word “hypocrisy” so I’ll just say this: it’s a double standard. You’re expecting something of someone you yourself do not have and virginity is something that isn’t exclusive to either gender. So it’s not the same as me wanting a guy with a big dick when I myself don’t have one before anyone pipes in with a dumb false equivalency. No preference in and of itself is “wrong” but don’t expect it to be received well in the real world. A woman who’s a virgin for…
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 11:06 PM

It’s a newborn baby - it can’t really determine how worthless its life is. There are a lot more pragmatic reasons to choose the mothers life.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 10:40 PM

It’s still a false equivalency as you’re on about a scenario that will never happen to you, whereas all women who want children have to consider this
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 09:22 PM

Yep, easy to say “well I’d rather let a baby be saved in a burning building before me!” When you know full well you’ll never be in that position. Whereas a dangerous childbirth is something most women have to consider.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 09:21 PM

Yep you literally are. By not even thinking about them you’ve deemed them not worth living.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 05:16 PM
1

Yeah that’s not really relevant since I assume you’re more capable than a baby at leaving a burning fire
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 04:48 PM
1

Just saw your edit. When you say “child” what do you mean exactly, what context etc?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 04:47 PM
4

Maths wise how would you have a baby with a woman you’ve known half a year, even if she got pregnant the first night you met? In the OP I’m talking about your wife, therefore your parents in laws. Plus, your parents couldn’t grieve a grandchild that never really existed. They could be upset for you but it’s not the same as losing a child they’ve raised.

Are u ok

Maybe let your partner know your stance on this before she gets pregnant/married to you
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 10:54 AM
4

I guess I can only talk about it from mine and my bfs perspective in a utilitarian way. If I died - I’d have a lot of family and friends grieving as well as my bf. My parents would lose a daughter who they’ve known and loved for 23 years. My bf would have to move as he couldn’t afford the rent by himself so he’d be dealing with: grief, single parent of a newborn, rapidly moving home and finding somewhere else to live with half the budget. I help my parents out financially so that would also go. …
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 10:52 AM
5

No, but if you’re a man you’ll never have to go through childbirth and the risks it poses. Therefore it’s far easier for you to announce you’d be fine dying in childbirth therefore women should be too
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 10:24 AM

You can still have a strong bond to someone who’s not your wife

/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 06:23 AM

I think it’s easier to say that when you’d never be in a position where it would come down to that
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 06:22 AM

Bc it only works if you’re not already pregnant or ovulating

I’m guessing this was some kind of reaction to being so repressed and told our value was in our so called “purity”. Other than that, some people just want to experience a variety of different kinds of sex with different people so they can get to know what they like. Or just for the thrills. I don’t think …

Physical abilities differences make us unequal. And we don’t require special protection from men who don’t grope/harass women. The root of the problem is men who do this. Without them, there is no need to defend ourselves or have separate train carriages for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/23 10:57 AM

I believe the testimonies were all around 20 years when he was at the peak of him fame, so no. But physical evidence isn’t always useful, it shows whether or not sex happened but not if it was non- consensual. Even bruises/injuries can be defended as just rough sex. Hence why the conviction rate is so low. Unless there are witnesses it basically comes down to he said she said.

Most normal men don’t object to measures taken for women’s safety 🤷🏼‍♀️

Completely false equivalency. Besides, the majority of crimes committed by black people is on other black people so apples to oranges again
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/23 08:13 AM

That’s because the issue of harassment of women is not equal. Not saying it never happens to men but not nearly at a comparable rate. Therefore an “equal” solution wouldn’t be beneficial.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/23 06:44 AM

I don’t think this is really an issue in Japan and is really not as common as it’s made out to be in western countries

What does the issue have to do with equality?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 06:57 PM

No, address the actual point I made instead of deflecting

Have you looked into the conviction rates for SA/rape? Even when physical evidence is given there’s a tiny chance of even an arrest happening, never mind actual consequences. Women have undergone rape kits before and been told despite evidence of sex taking place there wasn’t “enough damage” done to prove rape. you’ll be fine.

If you’re going down the racial segregation path there’s a black guy here who’s already commented why that equivalency is bs

Gun ownership is much more regulated in Switzerland and requires vetting - “People who've been convicted of a crime or have an alcohol or drug addiction aren't allowed to buy guns in Switzerland. The law also states that anyone who "expresses a violent or dangerous attitude" won't be permitted to own a gun. Gun owners who want to carry their weapon for "defensive purposes" also have to prove they can properly load, unload, and shoot their weapon and must pass a test to get a license.” Switzerlan…

I see your point that it’s unfair that innocent men get penalised for the consequences bought about by men who harass/assault women and I sympathise. Despite the charming gentlemen calling me a man hater I have a lot of men in my life I love and know would never harm women and I’m well aware most men wouldn’t either. However, some men do. And most women have experienced it. But to blame women for things like women only spaces, women being wary around them is ridiculous. They’re not seeing the fo…

Idk where you’re based but there’s plenty of male only gyms in my city Women aren’t getting two gyms for the price of one, the women’s only area is just an additional room with a couple machines/weights. If women aren’t comfortable working out around men, let’s say for religious reasons, why begrudge them of that? I don’t really care either way so I mainly use communal space. Take it up with the gym, not the women who use the extra room.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 01:15 PM
13

If you want male only spaces - most gyms already come pretty close to that, there isn’t really a need for an additional male only space. There are strictly male only gyms if that’s what you’re after, idk what’s stopping you from going there.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 01:09 PM

Every gym I’ve ever been to is already like 80-90% men in the communal parts

Eh I’d be fine with that
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 12:33 PM

You said it was ineffective - I’m pointing out its efficacy. You’re less likely to be harassed by a man on public transport on a woman only carriage. It’s relatively straightforward.

Who’s beating him up?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 12:31 PM

Again with the false equivalencies 🥱 you realise these trains exist because of men harrassing women on public transport?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 12:26 PM

They don’t seem to understand that if harassment wasn’t such a big issue on public transport - women only carriages wouldn’t exist in the first place. Get mad at the men who caused this, not the women who just want to get about without being leered at. I’ve been groped on public transport and have two friends who had guys jerk off in front of them.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 12:24 PM

In the video, the only one having a hissy fit was the man. Funny you talk about “man hating feminists” while quite clearly hating women, pot kettle no?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 12:23 PM

Men can still use public transport, just not those particular carriages. There’s plenty of space for them.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 12:18 PM

Its purpose is to protect women from harassment by men. I assume if he’d stayed in the train any longer a member of staff would have walked him off.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 12:16 PM

Protection from harassment is a privilege? They were in the train car minding their business. It was the man that barged on with his camera.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 12:13 PM

Most of the time if a girl gets a boyfriend, as long as the guy is nice her friends will be all for it. My friends have dated some absolute trogs but I’d never say a word. After all, I’m not the one who has to fuck them and if my friends are happy that’s all I care about. Guys however are much more likely to comment on who their friends date and give them shit if the girl has any vulnerabilities. Sadly, overweight women are subjected to so much cruelty and ridicule- usually by men. I wish more p…

You’re getting confused. My OP never stated that men don’t care about youth and looks. That’s obviously a big factor. All I said was: my experience growing up around wealthy/successful people and now working with them has shown me that successful men are more prone to dating similarly successful women. The pattern suggests that they do care about careers in women they commit to. A lot of men here can’t seem to look past what they find attractive and no doy there’s nothing inherently sexy about a…

The average age gap in relationships is 2-3 years. You’re acting like women who are single at 30 wither away never destined to die alone. If I were 30 and single I’d most likely meet someone a few years older. I wouldn’t care about their salary as long as they were financially independent (I’m not paying their bills lmao), and wouldn’t bitch about me earning more of that were the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/23 07:17 AM

You’re missing the point. It’s not necessarily about my partner expecting dividends from my job but as someone who cares about me, he wants to see me do well and is happy when that happens, and vice versa

“Moreover, wives who earn more often end up doing more of the household chores, not less. Data from the American Time Use Survey, covering the years 2003 to 2011, showed that while husbands spent an average of 20.8 hours a week on non-market work and childcare, wives spent 33.5 hours on those activities. One explanation for this, the researchers suggest, is that a wife making more money is doing more chores to assuage her husband’s unease. But serving as both the primary breadwinner and the prim…

Why does a man have to be 4x as successful and what does that even look like? 4x the salary?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 11:27 PM

I think certain guys would strongly prefer a woman who earns a good bit less because it would give him more leverage. They figure a woman is less likely to stand up for herself in a home where he pays all the bills. She’s also less likely to walk if she can’t rent by herself 🤷🏼‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 11:12 PM

True, from what I’ve seen new money and old money behave very differently. You’d think new money would be more gracious and down to earth, but that’s not what I’ve seen. Generally, old money people care about sustaining their wealth and a part of that includes marrying someone in a similar socioeconomic class.

Generally speaking we’re all wired to be attracted to healthy, fit bodies as our monkey brains see them as the best contenders for healthy offspring. In my experience, men care more. I’ve seen more couples with a slim girl and overweight man than vice versa but that’s just anecdotal. I think men would also care more about what their friends would say about them dating a fat girl.

Ages 18-20, at my supposed “peak”, I was at uni so just followed trends and didn’t analyse what looked good for my features. I can now actually afford proper haircuts/dye, better quality skincare, clothes etc I was thin but didn’t weight train, I now have an ass and abs and am so much stronger and fitter. Lmao 30 is an “old woman” to you? It’s hilarious men think we just whither away into our crypts the minute we turn 30. And before you come for me, I’m in my early 20s. I’m less anxious and risk averse now than a few years ago. I’m way more self assured, confident and open to new stuff now. If anything, I’m excited for my 30s, 40s etc where I’ll give even fewer fucks.

Well, tell that to the men who say they don’t care about a woman’s intelligence 🤷🏼‍♀️ I know this kid who has pretty severe autism, he regularly threw tantrums and now posts pictures of him in a furry costume and wearing dog collars. Both his parents are Oxford educated and super successful, had him in their early 30s, he had a very privileged upbringing, there was no way to foresee how he turned out. (He is now a ‘they’). You can’t guarantee how your kids will turn out.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 12:46 PM

Some clever kids can be neurodivergent or have other behavioural issues and very challenging to raise. If you only want kids on the conditions that they’re smart, physically able and neurotypical, don’t have them.

I don’t have kids so I’m peachy thanks :) Yeah, cos most of the time they don’t ask for custody. Also, baby mamas implied you weren’t married in the first place so idk why you bought that up
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 11:52 AM
1

If you’re referring to a sister wife situation - sure. But more babies generally just means more mouths to feed and more hours of sleep lost. If it’s a baby mama situation then you’re just having a bunch of single parent children which as we know, are at a much bigger disadvantage in life. Also, why would a baby mama have any interest in raising kids that aren’t hers?

Who is more likely to be unfaithful - the man with a huge, female dominated fan base who has been touring and working consistently the last few years. Also known for drinking on stage and having DJ sets, so he is a “partier” in the literal sense. Or the woman who had two kids back to back, and was struggling with an eating disorder badly enough she hired a live in therapist? Since she’s been married she’s only ever been seen partying with Joe
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 11:22 AM

Yes I’m sure that happens a lot
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 10:56 AM

She got married at 23. Had two children almost back to back a year later. Lived in the US despite talking in interviews how much she missed the UK and wanted her daughters educated there and was trying to “convince” Joe to move there. She takes her first job since having children in the UK. Next thing we know they’re divorced and his PR team are attributing it to her partying and giving Joe a standing ovation for “babysitting” his own children. With the help of a nanny.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 10:55 AM
1

Unless you’re fundamentally just a nasty person then you’re right. Normal, well adjusted people in their 30s tell me they are far more confident and self assured than they were in their 20s. I’m in my early 20s and I can’t wait to get older and stop worrying about stupid shit lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 10:44 AM
1

Where did I villianise him? I said he wanted what he wanted and she went along with it because she was in love and didn’t realise how it would impact her until a few years later. However, it is telling that his PR team is trying to portray her as deadbeat mum and party girl. Regardless of what went on, her daughters will read that one day.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 10:41 AM

Well if they’re insufferable in their 30s they probably would have been insufferable in their 20s too. Age isn’t the issue, you’ve just met unpleasant people

This is pure speculation but I’d guess Sophie was madly in love and swept away (she used to be a Jonas Bros fan) so got married very young, even though they’d only been dating a year. He wanted her barefoot and pregnant asap and she was willing to go along with it. Then around the 7 year mark (aka 7 year itch) she realised she’d spent her entire 20s living her life for him, not herself. She’d moved away from her friends and family across the pond to be with him. I can imagine a lot of resentment…

They’re expensive
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 10:08 AM

How exactly? She had two children back to back, didn’t work during that time and has even said she’s much more of a homebody and introvert than Joe. Also, she’s only 27, most 27 year olds still party and have a social life.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 10:08 AM

Joe’s PR team is doing the absolute most and it’s backfiring horribly
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 09:39 AM

Eh, I’m not harping on them exactly, they’re just an example. I’m just pointing out that a lot of men here have the fantasy of finding a woman in her early 20s and making her a tradwife, when a lot of them don’t want that. Those who do are typically quite religious/conservative, so don’t expect her to be putting out on the first date. Or date the 22 year old and don’t complain when she’s out doing molly with her friends, your pick.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 09:36 AM
1

I was a GOT fan so I’ve known about her a while. She always struck me as a really fun, charming girl who liked to party (obviously idk her in person and since GOT ended I haven’t kept up with her) I was always very surprised she got married and had children so young. She aged so much with him. Also, he’s known for drinking on stage and being a DJ so fair to say he’s no stranger to partying either. But it’s only an issue if a woman over the age of 22 is doing it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 09:33 AM
1

True. My mum has given me great advice over the years and if I’d listened to her sooner I would have saved both of us a lot of headache ahaha. My parents have the kind of marriage I aspire to have, so I figure she probably knows something. But when you’re an idiot teenager you sadly don’t realise that.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 09:29 AM

Maybe pick better women so you don’t have more than one baby mama. At least just wrap it up.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 09:26 AM

CMV: Men shouldn’t date women in their early 20s and get mad when they act like a woman in their early 20s. Imo this is a big part of why Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner split. (They were 20 and 27 when they started dating, he attributes their divorce to her partying)
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/23 09:26 AM
2

Exactly. They’d only been dating for a year when they got engaged, I never understood the hurry but hey ho it’s not like they had to save up. I would never get married before 25 and definitely no kids before 30. I’d rather be single than a divorced mum in my late 20s.

I am sceptical of women who claim they haaaate getting hit on (when it’s done with good, non intimidating intentions). Unless they have severe social anxiety and sudden interactions with strangers really put them on edge, ok fine, not going to tell anyone how they should feel. But ultimately most humans like to be told we’re nice to look at, no use being a proud martyr about it, it’s all good ahaha. I appreciate someone here actually understanding where I’m coming from instead of “yOu WoUlDnT mI…

I don’t mind being hit on or asked out and I won’t deny it perks up my mood when it happens, I’m in a LTR so it’s always a no but even so. Who doesn’t love a bit of external validation? What I do hate is being intimidated by men hitting on me, being shouted at from cars, I’ve been followed, groped, had a guy stroke my hair on the bus, been insulted when I turn them down. Those guys want me to be scared of them because if they can’t get my validation, my fear of them is a consolation prize.

I already have, so what’s the point in that question?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 03:30 PM

Yep, I have two brothers who leaned on us heavily when they were going through stuff in their adult years. We all grew closer as a result and they’re doing great now.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 02:49 PM

I grew up in a small town and moved to a big city for university/work and I come home every few weeks for my parents. Every time we go out we’ll bump into several people we know, when my neighbour died we helped organise the funeral, there are downsides like everyone knowing everyone’s business but still. Living in a city is nothing like this. Re your last paragraph, I’m sorry you felt you didn’t have the support of your family and partner during rough times. Not much I can say to that if that’s…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 02:31 PM
2

Have you actually been in a relationship with a woman
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 01:57 PM
1

Sure but there’s a line between that and saying that if a woman doesn’t have a wild orgasm within five minutes she’s defective
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 12:59 PM
1

I think society’s changed to become a lot more individualist and far less about community. Living in a capital city is very transient, most people have never talked to their neighbours and people move around a lot more so I think loneliness is much bigger issue than it was, but it seems to be especially apparent in men. Re what you say about sexlessness - I think that could be because a lot of men rely on their partners for their emotional well-being. Most men I know don’t talk to their friends …
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 11:12 AM

Don’t men struggle with loneliness and lack of long term friendships far more than women do?

Congrats man

What’s with the recent influx of posts/comments of men saying that if a woman doesn’t enjoy sex with them, she must be the problem 😭 I pray for y’all
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 10:49 AM
1

Like I said, you can communicate what you want but if it’s evident that the person you’re sleeping with doesn’t actually care about your pleasure, not much to be done about that apart from deleting their number on your way out.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/23 07:03 AM

I’ve been lucky that the guys I’ve slept with all seemed keen to show me a good time and I think because we were already in a relationship before we slept together. They already liked me, so wanted me to like them back I guess. However, I hear stories from my friends and some of y’all don’t pull your weight 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 11:44 PM
4

Ok. What do you propose for her to do about a dude that isn’t interested in giving her any foreplay, doing anything she likes etc. apart from not sleeping with him again? She can tell him ofc but I’m guessing you wouldn’t much enjoy sleeping with someone who only did anything for you after you asked them, and clearly didn’t actually care if you enjoy yourself or not. Some guys are just plain selfish in bed.

Q4M aged 25 or over: Would you rather date an 18 year old or a 28 year old?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 08:23 PM
1

I don’t have tiktok or Twitter so that probably helps. And I don’t agree with women who expect men to shoulder the entire financial burden apart from if she’s recently had children and they both agree with her being a SAHM as she’s saving him thousands in childcare costs by giving up her job and a lot of her financial independence.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 04:18 PM
1

No I haven’t. Also didn’t compare it to the civil rights movement.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 03:39 PM
1

Well, women have never put together a movement as widespread as the RP about how to get sex from men, insulting men for an array of reasons, claiming victimhood in a world that’s very much weighed in their favour. There’s equivalent terms for women like gold diggers and man eaters I suppose but that’s only an element of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 03:35 PM
1

No. I’m saying anyone who approaches dating and relationships only wanting to extract the best outcome for themselves at the expense of the other person is selfish and ensuring they’ll likely never find lasting love. Therefore, I don’t agree with any ideology that encourages it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 03:29 PM
1

RP seems to incentivise men to view relationships in a very transactional way, which imo is a great way to ensure you’ll never find lasting, happy love. But like you say, that’s their prerogative. I have no plans to stop them. More women are wising up to RP manipulation tactics and are avoiding them earlier in the game, which in turn leads to even more anger and resentment from the men who want love but go about it entirely wrong and they lack the self awareness to know why. My bf is good lookin…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 03:24 PM

Because the latter form of thinking hurts the men that believe it and the women they come across
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 02:57 PM
1

Well, a lot of red pillers seem to interpret it differently. It goes from being about self improvement to believing all women are liars and cheats who’ll never give you the time of day unless you’re a 6ft millionaire. I don’t think the latter is productive or helpful to anyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 02:54 PM

philosophy is designed to discuss different ideologies and ways of living, purpose etc. It’s whole essence is basically that there is no objective truth, but our perception is reality and we get to determine what our perception is (if you go by Plato’s interpretation) Red Pill frames itself as being objective truth (it’s namesake alone) that’s why I don’t consider it philosophy. You could call it an ideology I suppose.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 02:47 PM

I’m not into RP, I personally wish interactions between humans came from a place of kindness and not so transactional and bitter, but I know that makes me an idealist. Thankfully I have people around me that are wired the same, so it works for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 01:57 PM
7

That’s where the joy of contraception comes in
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 08:24 AM

I’m not speaking for others, I’m speaking for myself. My bf and I have similar histories and it works for us, we’ve both acknowledged it wouldn’t be ideal if either of us had a super wild past. It wouldn’t be a dealbreaker but it’s just ideal this way. I wouldn’t begrudge anyone for wanting the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 08:10 AM
1

I’m saying it’s a false equivalency. It’s fine to have a height preference but shaming men for their height is obviously not okay. Similarly, it’s fine to want a woman with a certain sexual history but not okay to insult women because of their sexual history. Most of the time slut shaming comes from assumptions about a woman’s history as well. You’re reaching so much.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 08:02 AM

I’m in a LTR so slut shaming isn’t really something I’ve experienced nor is it “my issue”. I just don’t think there’s any issue with any amount of sex as long as it’s consensual and safe. Men who spend their time slut shaming are very bitter, lonely men with evidently too much time on their hands.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 07:52 AM

I’m saying I have observed an increase in misogynistic and slut shaming comments from men on social media. That isn’t something that can really be denied. Some claim RP isn’t misogyny, it’s your discretion how you interpret it I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 07:48 AM

Philosophy is a bit of a reach
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 07:42 AM

Free from?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/23 04:46 PM

Maybe I should have been clearer - I’m not saying slut shaming has only recently come about, I’m saying it’s much more common to see it online than it was a few years ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/23 03:04 PM
3

I guess that’s the issue with the terminology. They’re presenting their opinions as objective truth when many of them have little/no experience with sex and relationships
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/23 11:18 AM

How old are you?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/23 10:07 AM

Because it was on Instagram and I could see the usernames and profiles of the commenters, all of whom were men. I can’t assume their beliefs of course, but it’s a certain kind of man who decides to insult a woman for posting a video in a crop top 🤷🏼‍♀️ shit like “fatherless behaviour” “y’all sexualise yourselves” etc etc OOTDs* = outfit of the day (my bad initial typo) My bf ticks off all those traits and we’ve been together a few years now. Having those traits won’t be the reason women don’t go…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 07:20 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 07:12 PM

I think everyone should think for themselves and not blindly follow whatever ideology finds it’s way to your FYP. You should absolutely cherry pick different ideas and form your own values. Take what you need and leave the rest. I’m an atheist, but I still appreciate some sentiments of Christianity and Judaism. Thing is, my opinions don’t contradict eachother, the issue is when “cherry picking” turns hypocritical and self contradictory. Also, please learn what gaslighting is.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 07:09 PM

What do you mean by making things harder for women to get what they want?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 06:01 PM

Why do you assume that a woman who makes you wait must have jumped into bed with another guy? My bf and I waited a while but so did my ex. He wasn’t that vexed about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 05:58 PM

I’m a feminist in that I believe in fair economic, political and social rights for both genders. In terms of third wave feminism I’m a bit more sceptical in places. I just live my life according to my own values and seems to be going well so far.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 05:57 PM
2

Re outfit videos - I’m literally on about regular girls doing “fit checks” or “OODS”. One girl was in jeans and a crop top and her comments were filled with men insulting her. It’s much easier to convince someone to dislike you than to convince someone to date you

I clarified that slut shaming has been around longgg before TRP ever was 🙄 5 years ago, it was rare to see slut shaming comments on a women’s social media and now they are everywhere. A lot of “alpha” content is centred around calling women who aren’t virgins derogatory names which has also gained a ton of traction over the last couple years. If you want to miss the point and be pedantic about the etymology of TRP, be my guest. And if you’re going to be condescending, at least use the correct *y…

I feel bad for Nina because she didn’t sign up for this shit, but that doesn’t take away from the fact Logan is a piece of shit and probably a sociopath. I don’t know anything about the other guy and I don’t care. I’d bet money that the engagement will get called off as Logan probably won’t be able to take the heat. Also my bf got me to try Prime once and it tastes of battery acid how tf is it popular.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 12:40 PM

I agree there’s an increase I’m just postulating why. I think part of it is that we’re identifying mental illness where 50 years ago people would have brushed over it, or put it down to wild female hormones. I also think a lot of women with ADHD/ASD are often misdiagnosed with anxiety or depression. I’m one of them, my adhd meds have helped my anxiety far more than anxiety meds ever did.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 12:39 PM
1

Yep, that’s why I don’t have tiktok or Twitter, I think they’re the worst culprits. With Instagram you have a lot more control over what content you see. I just follow my friends and few gym content pages and that’s it, so it doesn’t have a negative impact on me.

She explicitly said she did not give consent… what part of that are you struggling with?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 12:59 PM

I’m from a European country and have lived in others for months at a time. I am familiar with their culture. Kissing on the cheek, being very expressive is normal. Kissing on the lips is reserved for your partner, family and maybe friends. I’m tired of people who’ve never experienced the culture using it as a reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 12:45 PM

Like I said, in no other workplace would it be acceptable to grab someone and kiss them on the lips. So firing him is a reasonable, fair outcome. I wouldn’t grab a coworker and kiss them and expect to still have a job after.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 12:35 PM

Nobody is saying it’s a horrific, awful thing that happened by an evil abusive man, drop the drama and the strawman. Somehow I can’t imagine he would kiss a male football player out of excitement.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 12:30 PM

Why do you think that’s great?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 12:10 PM

How do you know it left no negative effect on that woman? She’s spoken out since and said there was no consent. You can even see that he grabbed her head with both hands so she couldn’t push him off easily.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 12:07 PM

Hopefully the same

A non consensual kiss does fall under the scope of sexual assault
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 10:27 AM

That doesn’t mean she can’t have an issue with a man grabbing her head and forcibly kissing her. A lot of people would take an issue with that. If a man did that at my job he’d be fired, what makes him special?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 10:17 AM

Well, that’s your prerogative. Doesn’t mean she has to do the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 10:04 AM

I’m from a European country and have spent a few months in others. Kissing on the cheek is very normal, kissing on the lips forcibly without consent is not. Regardless of what they look like.

Yep, that’s how debating works. If it was always as simple as “here’s proof of my opinion” and “you must be correct” a lot of lawyers and politicians would be rendered useless. To reiterate, gaslighting is manipulating someone into questioning their own sanity and reasoning ability. In relationships, it’s a form of mental and emotional abuse to make someone think they’re crazy so that they won’t confront or challenge you.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/23 09:05 PM

Point being - there are ways to protect yourself without a boyfriend and whenever men claim women need them “for protection” I just find that claim funny. Especially the majority of attacks and assaults on women happen to them by men they already know and/or are in a relationship with.

I didn’t really understand the whole idea around if a man has more opportunities to cheat that let’s him off the hook and therefore women should just expect that it comes with the territory. Most women have regular opportunities to cheat, but the whole point is that you have the loyalty and integrity not to.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 09:27 PM

When women say “men ain’t shit” they’re typically referring to the ones who cheat, lie, or mistreat them. That’s nothing to do with their education or job status.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 08:34 PM

I don’t mean people just innately knowing how to do those things but having the ability to learn how, there’s nothing wrong with asking for advice from people who are qualified/experienced to help. In an ideal world, yes you’re right, but once you realise how common financial abuse is and how devastating it can be - that’s why I wouldn’t suggest anyone ever not bothering to learn about these things and letting someone else take the reins.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 08:31 PM

I don’t know of any adults/anyone out of college who doesn’t know those things? I think letting your partner be a “coach” to you and never questioning their judgement can make you very vulnerable. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

Potentially. In a less pessimistic view I think a lot of men get a kick out of feeling useful, there’s been a couple times I’ve got a guy to warm to me by pretending I need his help with something, works like a charm

You’re confusing simply introducing something to someone like a hobby and then coaching someone through life
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 07:00 PM

That’s a kink thing, not everyone who calls their partner actually wants a parent child dynamic in their relationship or to literally sleep with a father figure. Also, it’s really not as common as you think, porn has definitely normalised that for a lot of people

We’d be fine. He’s remote and I’m hybrid, we have a two bedroom home so we can each take our space when we need it. It would suck if gyms closed as we like working out together but we’d probably go on runs instead or something. We love being around eachother but we both enjoy our alone time too, so neither of us get butthurt if the other needs time to themselves.

People who care about that much body counts are either under the age of 22 and/or chronically online.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/23 05:41 PM

You posed this as a question but you seem set in challenging all the answers you’ve been given. The fact is, caring so much about body count and having a “preferred” range is something people rarely do after college unless they’re chronically online. Majority of women simply don’t care as long as you’ve been given a recent clean bill of health and you don’t have a history of mistreating the women you’ve slept with (or any woman ideally) One thing I couldn’t put up with is a guy with a fixation o…

A lot of women start BC in their teens… I started at 15 to regulate my painful and irregular periods. Doubt I’ll be near menopause by 30
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/23 08:39 AM

Me asking a question doesn’t mean I lead the relationship. He’s not afraid to say no to me. Luckily neither of us turn every conversation into a dick swinging contest. I wouldn’t be in a relationship with someone I couldn’t have difficult conversations with in an honest and calm manner.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 09:09 PM
1

Well that’s just a matter of semantics. My partner and I agreed that if we A) decide for certain we don’t want kids or B) we have kids and don’t want more, he’ll get a vasectomy. It was a very chill conversation. I just asked what he felt about it, he gave me his answer. It would be very unusual for anyone to demand anything of the other, be it a vasectomy, tubal ligation, birth control/no birth control. The conversation should always be respectful and considerate of the other person.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 09:03 PM

What’s your aversion to marrying a woman who’s been on contraceptives? Btw not every woman who takes contraceptives does so for birth control reasons, and a lot of women have irregular cycles which make it harder to track fertile days
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 03:11 PM
3

“Disable” 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 12:41 PM

Sure, but the conversation is about long term measures of birth control that don’t involve the woman, since she’s taken the brunt of birth control for however many years plus carried and birthed your children

Pull out method isn’t known to be the most reliable
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 12:04 PM

Doesn’t mean they don’t have side effects. I’ve known women who’ve had painful, heavy bleeding for months after their IUD until they were able to get it removed
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 12:04 PM
2

An IUD still contains hormones fyi
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/23 08:27 AM
8

I see your point but if you were in a happy marriage, it seems strange to refuse a vasectomy on that premise alone. FYI, non hormonal IUDs are a very painful procedure that can cause heavy bleeding for months after. A friend of mine actually had to have hers removed it was causing so much pain and she was constantly faint from the bleeding. They’re by no means always an easier alternative to vasectomies
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 10:29 PM
4

We can put a man on the moon but can’t figure out birth control for women that doesn’t make us fat and sad 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 10:21 PM

Why wouldn’t you get a vasectomy? It’s much less invasive surgery than getting your tubes tied.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 10:20 PM
3

Eh, I’ve heard this. I’ve tried various types of birth control, been on and off it, but it’s never impacted how I feel about my bf and my attraction to him. I’ve never heard of a woman going off her partner because she stopped birth control. Birth control makes a lot of women more volatile, so you may be more prone to fights while she’s on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 10:11 PM
12

The age range for menopause is 45-55, I’ve known women who’ve had it even later. You could be ‘waiting it out’ for many years.

How come you wouldn’t?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 10:01 PM

I mean you’re out here trying to define cheating as well… so if a woman gets her tubes tied, do you think her husband should allow her to sleep with who she wants in return?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 09:49 PM
20

Cheating is cheating regardless of if you get the other woman pregnant tf 😂 with that same logic a girl can cheat on you but it’s not cheating because she takes birth control and he wore a condom, so it doesn’t matter
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 09:36 PM

What if you have the vasectomy and down the line you want to leave her?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 09:35 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 09:28 PM
18

Yeah, I’m not sure how many women are trying to trick men into vasectomies just to divorce them…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 09:26 PM
13

Why is that? Im just curious, a vasectomy is there to prevent pregnancy, it arguably has very little to do with divorce
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 09:24 PM
15

If you already have kids, why would you want more with someone else. Why even stay married if you plan on having kids with someone else down the line..?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 09:23 PM

Birth control actually lowers libido a lot of the time, so your sex life would likely improve if she was off it and also not having to worry about pregnancy
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 09:22 PM
19

Plus birth control messes with your libido a lot. I know a lot of women who had a huge dip in libido after going on birth control.

Yeah ofc, I dont think the issue extends to bodily autonomy
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 09:20 PM

Tubal ligation is a much more invasive surgery than a vasectomy. Plus, after X many years of birth control and birthing your children, some could say she was due for a break
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 09:19 PM
1

Yeah, plenty do. Women have needs as well and if the guys hot and up for it, why not? Even in the early dating stages, most people have sex before they start saying I love you

Look at it from an outsiders view: A man ‘choosing violence’ gaslighting and attempting to humiliate a mother for asking him to delete a picture he took of her six year old daughter. You’re not winning that one. I assume OP just left the place without making a scene, and that was the correct response.
/r/MensRights11/08/23 10:23 AM

The vast majority of SA to children is done by men.
/r/MensRights11/08/23 12:06 AM

I’m not the kids mum, chill out. Doesn’t matter how you feel about the word, not okay to talk to a six year old like that.
/r/MensRights11/08/23 12:01 AM

Have you ever been around a kid before..? That would have made the girl cry and now you’d have to explain yourself about why a girl whose mother is wary of you is now crying. Also, really disgusting to use that language around a 6 year old. Do better.
/r/MensRights10/08/23 11:56 PM

I don’t think you’d be the one who’d come out looking good in that scenario
/r/MensRights10/08/23 11:54 PM

How were the parents supposed to know that?
/r/MensRights10/08/23 11:53 PM

Think about it this way - you’d rather be wrong and look daft/paranoid to a stranger, than be wrong and have your child get hurt or worse. I’m sorry that happened to you regardless. Taking a selfie with a kid you don’t know is crossing a line for a lot of people. And yes, you’ll get judged more harshly for doing it as a man.
/r/MensRights10/08/23 11:49 PM

My point still stands that foster homes are massively overpopulated and to flippantly say that a child being adopted into a family is a guarantee when it isn’t. Also look into how much abuse adopted children are vulnerable to from foster home and families. And it’s not “killing kids” get a grip
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 04:33 PM

That doesn’t take away from the point that a woman shouldn’t be forced to carry a child to term if she doesn’t want to
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 04:17 PM

The number of children being adopted has decreased since previous years
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 03:24 PM
1

I’m not on about occasionally leaving your socks scattered. I’m on about someone whose behaviour and character consistently demonstrates he does not care about contributing to their home or their children’s lives. My friend left her ex because she “communicated” many, many times that she was tired of having to do everything in their home and it never made a difference. He didn’t care until she broke up with him and by then it was far too late. This happens all the time and men still haven’t twig…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 12:26 PM

Im not against communication, quite the opposite. But when it comes to things like pulling your weight in the home and being a father to your kid - if those things don’t come naturally to a man, his response to her “communication” will most likely be him accusing her of nagging, being demanding etc. because it’s not that he’s unable, he just doesn’t want to. I’ve never had to tell my bf to clean up after himself because he was raised properly and sees me as his partner, not his maid or his mothe…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 11:41 AM

It’s not her job to parent her husband and teach him basic consideration.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 10:57 AM

Conveniently didn’t address any of the points I made and turned yours into a strawman 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 10:37 AM

If they want to avoid pregnancy, then yes they do. And before you say “abstain” well whenever women do abstain, men cry about it. Men attribute women not having sex with them enough as to why they cheat/leave. So that’s not a great option either. Condoms are an option I suppose but a lot of men get difficult about having to wear one.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 09:53 AM
1

Well, whenever women do abstain from sex, men come here to cry about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 08:34 AM

You realise that babies eventually turn into older kids? Besides, doesn’t mean women should have their reproductive rights taken away to make things “fair”. You’re also completely wrong saying women can opt out of pregnancy any time. Even in the UK the abortion cut off is 23 weeks. You can only get an abortion after that if the pregnancy is an imminent risk to the mother, or the child is a stillborn
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 08:30 AM

Funny you say this - recently met a man who got divorced because he spent all his time working and never around his children or wife. Fyi, his wife worked full time in finance. He barely knows his children, he’s good friends with his ex wife but he’s single now. He said he wish he appreciated what he has and did more as a dad than just bring money in.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 07:55 AM

Raising children and taking care of a home is a job. Would you rather your children be raised by their mother or by a random nanny?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/23 07:51 AM

Is there proof of feminists preventing research into male birth control? Seems very counterintuitive given that most women I know have had an awful time with a form of birth control and would love to let it be the man’s responsibility for once.

Where are you seeing couples where the guy is much more attractive? I’m in a capital city and only see the opposite
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 11:00 PM

Why do you think this?
/r/AllPillDebate09/08/23 06:54 PM
1

If OP did experience that he probably would have mentioned it, so why would I assume that? I’m not saying every guy who wants to have a pizza with his gf is conspiring to make her fat to soothe his insecurities, just that in some cases men do the same thing this imaginary woman in OP does.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 06:44 PM

Because I have the context when it comes to my ex. OPs situation is purely hypothetical.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 06:35 PM

I can’t be arsed explaining my experiences to you. I know why he did what he did, you know barely a fraction of what actually went on. So why doesn’t that same energy apply when it’s a woman? Maybe the woman in OP just prefers her guy on a bulk, wants to have a pizza with him, spend more time with him instead of him going to the gym etc. doesn’t mean she’s insecure
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 06:28 PM

That is a complete false equivalency. I don’t say/do anything to deter my bf from being on a cut, his body his choice, he knows I love him the same either way. I have never made snide comments, tried to throw him off his diet/stop him working out, or try to dictate what he wears. Your arm must be tired from that massive reach.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 05:30 PM

“I just think you look better without makeup” boy shut your lying mouth 😂 Btw I was exaggerating about leaving for someone else, I met my current bf a few months later. I left my ex for a myriad of reasons but that was one.

Oh yeah some are joking and that’s fine but it’s pretty clear when they’re not kidding when they start chatting some nonsense about equality 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 09:27 AM

Men usually do this because they’re scared their gf will leave them for someone “better”. My ex did this to me for that reason.

I’ve been weight training for about 4 years, got more into benching/upper body around 2 years ago (a lot of time off in between from travelling, moving, recovering from surgery). It was only one rep with my bf spotting as I was terrified ahaha but I did it! Maybe I’m just lucky but gym guys irl are usually so sweet. I’ve had a guy who looked like he could lift a car give me a high five after I hit a deadlift PB. I agree, the trolls online probably don’t lift at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 08:49 AM

Tbh, a lot of girls genuinely prefer a guy who has a bit of cushioning. Lying on my bfs chest when he’s on a cut legit feels like trying to cuddle a rock, I much prefer him on a bulk. I’m not insecure and trying to trick him into being fat as I’m also an avid gym goer. I don’t think this is restricted to women though. My ex was very insecure and was always trying to feed me junk food, stop me from going to the gym, say his ‘favourite’ clothes on me were large shapeless t shirts and got in a shit…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 08:43 AM

I agree. I once told a guy friend that my PB bench was 40kg, he said that’s ‘impressive for a woman’ and then backtracked worried that he’d offended me. I told him he hadn’t, I was really proud I’d done that. 40kg is a lot for me and but it isn’t for most male gym goers, and that’s fine because I’m not comparing myself to them. Men who brag about being able to outlift a woman are the epitome of 👌🏼 energy. Luckily all the men in my life are cool and don’t feel the need to compare their own PBs to…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 08:37 AM

The threshold for being able to “support yourself” is becoming increasingly higher and does require a career. Besides, when you’re saving for travels, children, a down payment for a house, do you want that pressure to be solely on you?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 08:31 AM

You’ll care when you’re moving in together and she can’t afford to go 50/50 with you
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 08:29 AM

Why do gym girls receive so much more hate online than men? This isn’t even to do with what they wear - it will be a normal video of a girl hitting a bench PB let’s say, and somany men in the comments will be chiming in with “that’s my warmup/I could do that when I was 14”. Like… yeah no shit you can lift more than a girl who’s likely much smaller than you. It would be a bit concerning if you couldn’t. It would be like me bragging I can lift more than a 12 year old. Just seems like a very weak f…

What is cheating to you? To me, it’s simply doing anything you would have an issue with your partner doing. I think this is a pretty fair metric. I wouldn’t be ok with my bf grinding on girls in clubs so I don’t do that myself even though some people wouldn’t necessarily consider that “cheating”. Cheating can come in so many forms, emotional/physical I think this is a pretty easy way to boil it down.

The US military draft ended in 1973. Men stopped being “cannon fodder” fifty years ago therefore your entire argument about men having more responsibility about voting outcomes is ridiculous. As for reproductive rights - those policies should be determined by women. If men don’t like it, they better be vigilant about wearing a condom.

Perhaps men should stick around and raise the children they bought into the world then, instead of leaving them to be raised by another man

The guys distanced themselves because of how they talked about women as it grossed them out. They’re both heavily into drugs, so it’s not that they cleaned up their act/routine and have less free time now. Re- how he acted: the guy I know better went to a concert with his ex and some friends that was a 4 hour drive away. The next morning when it was time to go home, he refused to let her in the car because of a dumb argument they had (he was on a coke comedown and in a foul mood). The guys in th…

In lieu of recent online discourse - how many men here are actually against women having the right to vote and why? Furthermore if you did want to see a world where woman can’t vote, it’s only fair women are exempt from paying taxes if they don’t get any say in how the taxes are used, which would have a severe impact on the economy.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/23 09:27 AM

Oh you’re against women having the right to vote? Also, your comment perfectly proved my point about many RP men being bitter and angry, so thank you for that!

With the one guy I know better, he was in a LTR but treated her like crap so she left him and that’s when he got into RP as he was angry she left him. Years later he hasn’t left. Yeah that’s why I was confused by Odd_Green saying that a guy would need to make 100k to cover his own bills. In London (so bear in mind exchange rates) you can live fine on 30k. You won’t save any money and you can’t spoil yourself, but you can pay rent, bills, essentials etc, especially if you’re splitting one bed rent. My bf and I both make around $63k and get by fine.

What do you think needs to be done? I’m all for better resources for men’s mental health and encouraging more men to reach out, and for male victims of DV to get the support they deserve. Don’t get that twisted. The issue is when people put the onus on women to eradicate mens problems, saying that men are in bad shape because “hYpErGaMy”. The stigma around expressing yourself and being vulnerable comes far more from men than women.

Most women don’t want to be victims, we don’t see it as a privilege to point out injustices. I’d much rather live in a world where all women had social, economic, political and reproductive rights with nobody trying to take them away and little girls weren’t mutilated and forced to marry old men. As a western woman I know I live a very charmed life compared to them. Struggles with dating exist among both genders, the issue is when people turn it into the victim olympics. It’s both. Women want to sleep with someone they find attractive and enjoy being around.

Louder for those in the back pls, it’s wild that people still think this in 2023… Or that if you sleep with 20 men, your vagina is somehow “looser” than that of a woman who’s slept with 1 man but 100s of times. Those men tell on themselves for having 0 understanding of female anatomy 😂

What compromise would you want if she wanted to keep her surname, assuming at this point you’ve already bought a ring and proposed? Get her to pay you half of the cost of the ring? Or would you just end the engagement.

Shorter answer: people like nice things
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/23 04:35 PM

As someone who fits the criteria: the answer is I don’t want to deal with a guy who’s super insecure. My bf and I are both in good careers and don’t want children. I wouldn’t care about a guy earning less than me, but let’s be real going into a relationship with someone if I’m earning 3x what they do is going to be tricky. I just don’t want that hassle, and I like being with someone who understands the stress/pressure of being in a demanding career.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/23 09:46 AM

Well that’s the thing, being a dog who’ll sleep with anything with a pulse just because he can isn’t attractive to most women. It’s the same as a woman who sleeps with anyone just because she can. Also not that attractive.

I think a lot of women don’t realise how detrimental it is to your self esteem and mental health to constantly have a guy around for validation. It sounds nice but it makes you needy and fragile. I like the metaphor of a cold blooded animal depending on its environment for its survival versus a warm blooded animal who can regulate its own temperature, always needing external validation makes you a cold blooded animal. Messy metaphor Ik but I’m sure you get the point.

A 21 year old Instagram model who smashes Coke every weekend is not someone you see being the future mother of your kids. Also, when you commit to someone you do so with the knowledge they won’t look this way forever, there are other traits that go into building a life together. Honestly, some women can be fully single but it requires effort as it’s too easy to get bored and start responding to …

You’re focusing more on standards around looks when she’s more talking about standards around values and being treated. Women haven’t magically only started finding the top men attractive, we’re just becoming less tolerant of poor behaviour. However, the catch is that a lot of women forgive crappy behaviour if the guy is super attractive. Same way a lot of guys will endure a woman being a nightmare if she’s good looking. That’s not really a gendered thing so much as pretty privilege. I know girl…

Imo it wasn’t abusive, but he did give an ultimatum and he went about it badly, as well was shaming her for her job when he knew what she did from the start. But social media likes to blow everything into extremes, there has to be a victim and a villain when all it really was were two neurotic people who weren’t right for eachother and eventually broke up.

I wouldn’t be naive enough to date a guy who smoked weed everyday and then 6 months later be surprised he had 0 ambition… this is what early stages of getting to know someone are for
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 07:01 AM
1

No
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 06:49 AM

That’s what the early stages are for. If you don’t want to date a girl that parties, you can gauge that pretty quickly and then filter them out. Also seeing how someone reacts to certain stuff. And yeah, having honest conversations about what you’re both okay with. Strong, healthy relationships are work and require maturity and communication. Sorry.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 09:58 PM

I mean without specifying what kind of boundaries you’re on about I can’t really comment. Is the boundary “I’d rather your mother didn’t show up to our home unannounced” or “you have to share your location with me at all times and you can’t see your friends anymore”
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 09:51 PM

Communicating boundaries and then leaving if your SO doesn’t agree with them/respect them is different to demanding that they follow the boundaries which are really just demands for radical changes in their behaviour
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 09:48 PM

The only person it has to be acceptable to is your partner. Why do you think it’s reasonable?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 09:32 PM

Eh, it’s more about why you have an issue with male friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 09:15 PM

From what I remember of the texts, she tried to compromise with him to keep him happy by deleting some pictures and he kept moving the goal posts, responding with “it’s a good start, but you don’t seem to get it and it’s not my job to teach you”
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 08:58 PM

He berated her for her modelling job, making shitty comments about her lack of fulfilment in life because of it. I wouldn’t say abusive, but definitely asshole behaviour
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 08:31 PM

How exactly was he sold a lie? He slid into her DMs into a bikini pic of her surfing, and then wanted her to take down all pictures of her in a bikini
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 08:25 PM

In the case of cheating, I wouldn’t consider it “controlling” because if you love and care about someone, you yourself wouldn’t want to cheat Actually hilarious this is being downvoted 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 08:19 PM

The ambiguity lies in what boundaries are deemed reasonable or not, which is why the Jonah Hill situation blew up online
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 08:17 PM

I don’t think anyone’s saying it’s abuse to break up with someone, other than that I agree with you
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 08:02 PM

Isolating a person from their friends is considered a form of controlling behaviour according to CPS, which is what he was trying to do. He said she couldn’t see her male friends, or even her female friends that he didn’t like. He also berated her for her lifestyle and the fact she’s a model, despite knowing very well the whole time what her job is.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 07:50 PM
1

Agreed.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 07:43 PM

It’s hard to respond without specifying what these boundaries are but generally yeah, I agree. I just think some people misuse the word boundary as an to be controlling through therapy speak. I have the same issue with people who think “gaslight” means having a different opinion to you and arguing it.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 07:40 PM

Ah I didn’t hear about that. But ngl, it’s not like mothers with newborns are lacking stress in their lives ahaha
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 07:37 PM

I’ve been with my guy 3 years and he hasn’t yelled at me once but I see your point, people do change. He knows my stance on it and that if he did switch up, I’d leave. The points you make about wanting a hot girl, rich guy etc mainly come down to naivety/lack of experience rather than being a bad person.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 07:24 PM

Boundaries aren’t constraints you put on other peoples actions aka “you can’t wear that, you can’t go there”. It’s parameters you implement for yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 06:50 PM
1

And “old” to you is 25 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 06:45 PM

How old are you?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 06:01 PM

How?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 05:57 PM

I mean yeah the future is bleak but that isn’t because women are succeeding in their careers
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 05:09 PM

She specified “these women” aka models in their early 20s…
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 04:16 PM

Can you elaborate on this? No better how?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 03:48 PM
1

Oof you’re really upset about this pool night huh
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 10:42 AM

In your case your issue is having friends that don’t set boundaries with their girlfriends. I have 0 interest in crashing my boyfriends guys night and he has no interest in intruding my time with my friends unless we’re all hanging out with our mutual friends. Tell your friends to grow a backbone.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/23 09:56 AM

sorry, can’t entertain someone who’s being emotional and talking from their feelings
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/23 09:58 PM

There are endless groups and sport teams you can join that are mainly men. If you seriously can’t tolerate having any women around you unless it’s in a romantic/sexual context, the problem is you. Well adjusted happy people with decent social lives have friends who are men and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/23 09:44 PM

They’re not understanding that if there was an actual demand for male only spaces, there would be a demand. They’re talking about men getting together to talk about their issues, do their hobbies etc… yeah that’s what friends are for. Their issue isn’t lack of male spaces, it’s lack of friendships that they’re trying to blame us for.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/23 09:34 PM

If there was an actual demand for male only spaces, there would be more of them. If you just want to hang out with guys, go hang out with your guy friends
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/23 08:50 PM

do some research and come up with a better rebuttal than “it’s probably an exaggeration”
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/23 08:46 PM

You realise you can just go hang out with your pals and not invite any women
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/23 08:45 PM

My gym has a female only section, I use it bc I find women in the gym are a lot more considerate. They don’t monopolise 10 dumbbells, spend 45 minutes on one machine and they actually wipe down the machines after they’re done.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/23 08:42 PM

we can’t even have bathrooms to ourselves anymore

What needs clarifying for you
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/23 06:56 PM

Again - would you be willing to share/explore stuff she likes to do
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 08:23 PM

Why is it important she have the same hobbies/interests as you? Would you also be willing to share/explore stuff she likes to do?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 08:07 PM

Women typically have a “responsive” sex drive versus men’s “spontaneous” sex drive. So while men typically have the higher sex drive, if the sex is good, consistent and the guy knows what she “responds” to, it can be pretty equal.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 07:36 PM
1

I’m not doubting your ability to judge people, sounds like you have down to a science. Bizarre that you know your mother was promiscuous or that you bring it up like it adds anything to the conversation. I’m just making the point that abusive/manipulative men require more than 30 minutes to gauge, so it’s stupid to say that’s all women need to find out if he’s worth pursuing. If she’s an asshole, then she’s not worth your time, that’s a moot point.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 07:29 PM
1

We’re talking about providing in the context of dating and SMV. So it does mean providing for women Again with the snide comments 😂 I’m in a happy LTR, I don’t struggle with being able to assess someone’s judge of character. But it’s very naive to think you can actually get to know someone’s true colours in 30 minutes or less. Abusive/manipulative people are typically very charming and know how to work people. It takes a lot more than that to figure out their true intentions and values.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 07:20 PM
1

Nope, in a LTR with someone wonderful. Sorry I struck a nerve.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 07:11 PM
1

According to RP theories - a man’s value comes from his ability to provide so 🤷🏼‍♀️ Genuine question and not trying to be snarky, how much dating experience do you actually have?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 07:08 PM

That statement tells me you have little/no experience in dating and relationships
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 06:53 PM

So instead of ageing should all women just die at 30 then ahaha
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 06:49 PM
1

I guess with OLD, but like I said if a guy isn’t into slim girls then he’s clearly not the one for you, so there’s nothing be wary about. There’s also more factors to attraction that just body types. I’ve read somewhere that when men want to date/start a relationship they prioritise a woman’s face, but for a hookup/ONS it’s more about the body.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 05:50 PM
1

If a guy is truly into you, you won’t be competing with anyone :)
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 05:46 PM
1

It’s kind of a how long is a piece of string question but your answer is spot on. Women tend to have a wider support network for their emotional needs, so they’re less likely to funnel them all onto their partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 05:45 PM

Why are you wary? Both thick and slim women can be gorgeous
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 05:41 PM

This is interesting - im a smaller woman who works out a lot and I don’t think thick girls ever cut into my options. Guys who are into thick girls will be into them regardless of whatever the trends are. Recently the pendulum has swung the other way and being super skinny is back in style, but it hasn’t changed anything. A guy who isn’t into your body type was never an ‘option’ for you in the first place. I think being smaller is an advantage in dating personally, it also means you’re more likel…

I actually agree that typically it’s the other way round (women wanting more than sex, guy being ambiguous) I was mentioning my own experience. I had a very emotionally unavailable patch a few years ago 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/23 09:32 AM

Fuckboys generally refer to men who make a woman think that a relationship is just around the corner so he can have sex with her, and then never commits

Lookings fine, I probably won’t even notice so idc, and you can approach someone without leering at them first More than a few seconds I’d say, it’s also the intensity/expressions of the staring which makes it creepy or not I don’t care how attractive the guy is, I’m just as uncomfortable either way Doesn’t make a difference either way now that I’m an adult, but when I was under 18 it was significantly creepier when older men did it. Even now I look young for my age and people always assume I’m …

If a man’s going to catcall me he’ll do it regardless of if im in a short dress or covered head to toe, so I wear what the fuck I want. What helps me is having a “resting bitch face”. If a guy stares at me, I’ll stare back and 9/10 times they drop their eyes. Im always polite but I’ll make it very clear I don’t want to chat and if they get arsey, I ignore them until they feel awkward and eventually leave me alone. Ofc you have to be careful if you run across one of the really nasty ones, but thi…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 10:07 AM

The other day this guy walked past me, fully mouth breathing staring at my tits (I was in a t shirt) he kept doing this even as he got right past me so I eventually snapped “can I help you?” And he immediately stared at the pavement and scuttled off. He lives near my street so I see him around, it wasn’t the first time he’d leered at me either, when I last saw him he gave me a wide berth 😂 it’s funny how pathetic these men get the second you show a tiny bit of resistance
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 09:18 AM

Nobody has said that the majority of men leer at young girls. We’re saying that the majority of young girls have experienced unwanted and inappropriate attention from older men.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 08:27 AM
3

It’s still creepy when it happens even when you’re an adult. I see attractive people all the time, I don’t leer at them, it’s not that difficult. Those men do it with the intention to make you uncomfortable and get you to notice them.

I’d be perfectly comfortable saying it to your face but if saying that gives you a boost, I won’t ruin your bliss. Are you fr, men have 30 times more testosterone than women it’s far easier to put on muscle 😂 plus the average mans BMR is far higher, meaning you can eat a lot more before putting on fat. You need to do some market research on feminine products and cosmetics and look into the “pink tax” before implying that the men and women put the same financial investment towards their appearanc…

If she doesn’t find you that appealing, the sex isn’t going to be that “wild and crazy” but whatever you need to tell yourself!
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 07:13 PM
1

Yeah, doesn’t mean she’s going to get attached to the guy
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 06:49 PM

Well, if women “fuck up” and men “fuck down”, maybe she only slept with you because of lack of other options
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 03:15 PM

This seems like a reach, but okay ahaha
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 02:13 PM

Surely that also applies to men?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 02:03 PM

Speak for yourself, I don’t lose myself in a relationship and neither do many women I know. How sad to wrap your entire life and energy around your partner to the point that you improving yourself means you’re about to leave him…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 01:05 PM

Is it false that men would rather sleep with someone they find attractive, and a pretty girl will have more options than a gross one..?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 12:56 PM

Don’t promiscuous women generally have to be attractive too?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 09:32 AM

I hate the terminology ‘Chad’ but I don’t think this is true. I wouldn’t want a relationship with a guy that’s slept with half the town just because he could. Being in a LTR with someone doesn’t mean they’ll be good in a relationship or won’t mistreat you.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 09:30 AM
34

I was about to say - I’ve experienced guys struggling to keep things casual and getting hurt/confused when I don’t want to make things serious. I always very clearly communicated this and never led anyone on, I assume they thought I was bluffing.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 09:28 AM

I’m just making the point that no woman in her right mind is going to self improve under the delusion it will make a guy commit 🙄 if a guy doesn’t want her, that isn’t going to change by losing a few pounds
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 08:28 AM
1

Exactly
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 07:11 AM

Eh, if a guy doesn’t want to commit to you, I don’t think getting highlights and starting Pilates will change that. In my case, I just started because I genuinely love weight lifting and still do it years later. I know this will get met with bad responses but I genuinely did it for myself. Not my ex, current bf or any suitors in between
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 07:08 AM

True, genetics plays a big factor and a lot more work goes into looking “toned” than they realise. The other day they put up pictures of “curvy” women - one of them was Kylie Jenner who’s had her boobs done and a ton of lipo 😂 like sure she’s curvy but that’s not what the typical curvy woman resembles
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 06:40 AM

Why
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 10:43 PM

The objective truth is different to how you see it as you’re twisting it to fit your red pill narrative when it doesn’t. I never cared that my ex wasn’t in great shape, and that didn’t change when I got fitter. Again, I didn’t start training because he was an ass. Those are two separate facts.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 08:32 PM

You’re convoluting different things. I didn’t get fit with the intention to “level up”. I just found a new hobby I enjoyed. I dumped my ex for reasons that had nothing to do with either of our appearances. He was abusive emotionally and physically. He called me 300x a day from a withheld phone number after I ended it and would follow me home from my job - to give you a sense of what he was like. I was then single for a while as I needed to get my head straight, and then I met my current bf. When…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 08:12 PM

My bf is a gym rat who’s ripped so not really something I have to imagine. It doesn’t bother me, and I definitely enjoy the results

Sad perspective
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 07:44 PM

I think everyone should be in pursuit of improving yourselves, whether it’s career, health, appearance etc. If your partner is doing well and “glowing up” I think a well adjusted secure person is proud of them and sees it as motivation. But you should never think that you’re in “competition” with your partner. FYI my other friends giving me actual correct advice were women. We initially went weight training together but he made it a miserable time by being condescending and plain annoying. I’m f…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 07:36 PM

Tbh that’s why I love weight training, you can build curves but also tighten up your torso and everywhere else. Weight and BMI become a bit redundant once you have a good bit of muscle though.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:27 PM

Lol why
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:12 PM

I love how informed you feel about a relationship you have 0 knowledge of. I dropped him bc he was unhinged, not because I started a hobby 😂 Been with my current bf for 3 years, met during lockdown when I hadn’t worked out in ages and got a bit bleugh. I’m now 20lbs lighter and in much better shape and I have no plan to leave him, and he’s happy seeing me much more confident and secure in my skin and we work out together, it’s great 👌🏼
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:08 PM

Oh I’m not in this situation, my current bf and I have been together for 3 years now and all good
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 06:00 PM
1

Dw, those ones found the post eventually 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 05:57 PM

Love chub is very real, but if you’re both health minded you can mitigate it
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 05:56 PM
1

Could be like 140 to 120lbs, both normal weights for a 5,5 woman
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 05:49 PM
4

You can be in a couple with separate goals and hobbies, having some independence is a good thing in relationships
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 05:47 PM

The risks of self improvement?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 04:44 PM

Great response Also I think if you knew more about my ex you’d understand it was definitely malice
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 04:36 PM

So you’d end the relationship even with 0 signs she was looking for someone better?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 04:30 PM
1

Oh rest assured he was actually tapped in the head and was giving terrible advice. I had a friend in powerlifting that helped me start out with form who was horrified at the advice he’d been giving. Also, he really wasn’t in great shape so not sure why I ever took advice from him in the first place. Yeah that seems like a normal response
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 04:07 PM
1

Understandably, it’s already hard enough to lose weight 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 03:53 PM
4

Even when she’s been “thicker” she’s always been very slim
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 03:51 PM
0

Ofc, the vast majority of men who are normal are impartial either way to your weight as long as you’re happy and healthy.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 03:50 PM
2

How much is that exactly? A lot of guys just like thicker women, it might not be anything I’m on about
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 03:45 PM
1

It’s absolutely about control. That’s why there’s so much rhetoric trying to put down women with an education and careers and blaming the failing economy on us joining the workforce. Essentially, women have upped their game in the last 50 years because we now have the freedom to. Men haven’t. They love to quote articles about women out earning men as a reason for more divorce but fail to read this articles where they say it’s because while the roles have shifted financially, they haven’t shifted…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/23 07:51 AM

How do you go about vetting exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 11:00 PM

Pretty narrow parameter then aye
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 10:59 PM

That’s an interesting take, never thought of it like that before Although I think that’s a generalisation. I know girls from troubled backgrounds with low body counts and girls with two great parents with much higher ones. There are some girls who can divorce emotions from sex but it is less common than it is for men. I don’t think that changes the parameters of what a “high” body count for either gender is however. Sex is sex ultimately.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 10:53 PM

What’s actually considered a “high” body count for men and women?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 10:49 PM

Is this an ad for tinder
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 10:48 PM
11

Sexual attraction doesn’t mean wanting to jump your bones then and there
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 10:46 PM
13

It also depends where you are. If you’re somewhere public, a lot of people aren’t going to want to be tongue snogging with a bunch of onlookers.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 10:44 PM
13

We were 21 Why are you so adamantly against the possibility that some women just don’t like tongue kissing?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 10:38 PM
19

Some people, myself included, just don’t like tongue kissing. Also, girls get anxious about these things too. My first kiss with my bf was an awkward peck because we were both too nervous to properly go for it (and we were in public during the daytime) Some of y’all need to chill.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 10:29 PM
1

I wasn’t directly addressing you. I maintain my point that if someone doesn’t want to marry, make it clear, don’t propose and then get resentful because “sOcIeTaL pReSsUrE”. Come on now, get a grip.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 09:41 PM
6

Grow a spine and don’t propose if you don’t want to. If you and your gf want different things, it’s a big incompatibility and she’s not the person for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 09:32 PM
4

Personal accountability is a wonderful thing. Grow a spine and don’t get pressured into proposing if you don’t want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 09:28 PM
1

I’m around happily married couples. I tend not to interrogate them on their sex lives and chore division though.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 09:27 PM

He said doing enough to make her happy. I assume that would include contributing to the house and being good in bed.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 09:25 PM
5

Then why do men propose? Nobody’s forcing him to. If she’s pushing for a ring and he doesn’t want to do it, he should end the relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 09:24 PM
1

Men are typically the ones proposing…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 09:23 PM
1

A good marriage is great, a bad marriage is shit. This is a ‘how long is a piece of string’ question.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 09:20 PM
15

I mean, the idea is to join lives with the person you love but these days marriage isn’t really essential for that if you already live together. When you marry someone, presumably you enjoy living with them and you have good sex with that person so that’s a benefit. You don’t have to marry (and shouldn’t marry) a man that doesn’t pull his weight in the house or the bedroom. It’s that straightforward.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/23 09:18 PM

How did you come to that conclusion

I don’t want a doormat, I want a guy that treats me with the same kindness and respect I treat him with. Teasing is fine when it’s done with good humour and not actual belittling. You can be honest and call someone out without being an asshole. People who preach about “brutal honesty” are far more focused on the “brutal” than the “honesty”.

None. The one time I dated an asshole the reason I stayed (aside from being young and not knowing my self worth) was that after a period of him being an asshole he’d then play boyfriend of the year. Super loving, buying gifts, showering me with compliments. One time he yelled at me on the way to a date and once we got there, he then ordered the most expensive wine, announced dinner was on him and to order whatever I wanted. I just ordered a starter as I was still too upset to eat and he ended up…

Don’t date then if it bothers you that much It’s like if I were complaining about how women typically spend a lot more time getting ready for a date than men. Makeup and all the other products involved aren’t cheap. I’m not about to ask a guy to go halves on my mascara. If the disparity bothered me that much I just wouldn’t date.

If I couldnt handle that, I’d date an ugly guy. He goes out to bars/clubs with his friends now and the, it doesn’t bother me and vice versa. I go out a bit more than he does, I’ll show him my outfit, he’ll hype me up, I go and have a great night and have never given him a reason to be suspicious, so he isn’t.

It’s not a ‘small portion of human behaviour’ when every woman I know has been sexually assaulted, groped or abused. This isn’t to say that all men do this and I’m so sick of having to clarify that to avoid offending anyone. But women are typically cautious due to their own experience they’ve already had. Not because of the media or whatever else you’re claiming is the reason. 98% of sexual assaults are perpetrated by men - https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/crimeandjustice/arti…

No, but it does tell me he’s never experienced living as an adult and cleaning up after himself, and maintaining a good standard of cleanliness at home by himself. I deleted tiktok years ago so I guess im behind on this. I’m all for SAHMs because I believe in women doing what they want, and if that’s what they want, more power to them. I’ve never seen a woman attack another woman for saying positive about a man so I guess we’re at an impasse on that. Men love to call other men “beta” and “simp” for showing a woman basic decency and god forbid, treating your partner like she’s someone you love. It’s also a complete strawman away from my actual point.

Being assaulted or abused and being stiffed for money you willingly gave someone are very different things. But here’s the thing - most women don’t have an issue with you saying that. I know perfectly well I’m not a gold digger, so I take no offence to you saying that. But why do men get so offended when women talk about their own negative experiences and fears?

No, you should be cautious entering any relationship for any signs of toxic/abusive behaviour, that’s fine. Misogyny is more “well her body count is 3x what she claims, she’s lying about XYZ and if we ever marry she’ll take half of what I have”. I’m 5,5 + 120lbs, if a guy wants to hurt me I can’t do much to prevent it. 25 is when studies show that your brain is fully matured. Not that you’re smarter after 25 or that you magically stop developing after that. I thought that was common knowledge and didn’t need clarifying, my bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 03:30 PM

Didn’t say that once you’re 25 you’re fully developed and you magically reach peak intelligence. I’ve known people in their 50s with less maturity and self awareness than someone in their early 20s. You’re being pedantic for no reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 03:19 PM

I think most people will agree people who are 25+ are typically a lot more grounded and mature than people 18-22. There’s also a lot of research that backs it, not just “some guy who said it”

A 30 year old is only 3 years older than 27, that’s hardly a big deal. Especially as they’re both over 25 so both their brains are fully formed. Imo age gaps aren’t a big deal until one is feasibly old enough to be the parent of the other then it’s like ehhhh, but at the same time not my monkey not my circus idc either way if everyone’s happy and being treated well
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 02:30 PM

Once I’m in an actual relationship with someone it’s different. I’ve picked up the bill for my bf before and I buy him treats or if I see something I think he’ll like. If it’s a tight month, I’ll cook him his favourite meals, I’m good with a sewing machine and I’ve fixed/altered many things for him. Generosity isn’t just about money. But if someone who makes plenty of money insists on nickel and diming you on a first date over £5, you can safely assume he’s probably not generous.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 02:13 PM

I see that, and ofc casual sex doesn’t always mean no attraction, but I’ve heard some guys irl say they’ll sleep with a girl they don’t find attractive just… because she’s there? My friend was on a date at a bar, she’s 24, he’s in his 30s working at a big 4 consultancy. She doesn’t drink, so she had a couple lemonades (like £2 each) while he got alcoholic drinks. The bill came and he insisted on divvying up the bill, his portion was a lot more but the fact he was obsessing over the receipt like “okay so I’ll pay X, you pay Y, but split the service charge” really put her off. She dropped him after that as she didn’t want to deal with someone so cheap he couldn’t shell out…

You need a job or some kind of hobby man
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/23 12:55 PM

It’s very naive to assume that every woman in a STEM conveniently has a man in her life that has more knowledge of her career than she does and managed to pass the interviews and testing for the jobs on her behalf. And again, confidentiality thing. I’m in finance and even if my bf knew anything about it, I can’t let him near my work as it would be a confidentiality violation and I’d lose my job. I imagine it’s the same in a lot of careers.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/23 11:11 PM

I’ve not known anyone who relied on their bfs to do their jobs, for confidentiality reasons especially. But also that you wouldn’t get into those jobs unless you’d proven you were competent at the skills already?

I think that’s inevitable from time to time with almost anyone that works
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/23 10:52 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/23 10:19 AM

This makes us pretty unpleasant to date for those who aren’t about that life, it’s just a compatibility matter.

This ^ If you want a girl who doesn’t know she’s hot, just date a girl that’s ugly. But most of those don’t want to do that either so 🤷🏼‍♀️

She’s literally just going to the gym to work out, weight training is especially important for women maintaining their bone density

Her job is a surfing instructor and one of his “boundaries” was that she couldn’t surf with men. How is that cheating or trying to corner him into an open relationship? It’s a sport and her job.

What would you bring to the table for a wholesome, solid girl

If you’ll only accept a girl who’ll sleep with you on the first date, don’t get upset when you find out you’re not the only one My bf even now says he’d glad we waited a bit before sleeping together the first time (2/3 months) as we knew eachother well by that point so we had that trust and connection which you don’t get by sleeping with someone you hardly know.

How many people here don’t plan on having children? There seems to be more backlash for women who don’t want children than there is for men who don’t want children. I think whatever your choice is is great for you, nobody should feel shamed for that choice but I don’t get why the shaming is mainly reserved for women.

You’re convoluting waiting to have sex with being entitled. It shows boundaries and self respect, which is only a bad thing for those who benefit from people have none. Why is it a bad thing for me to value myself and expect a man to respect and value me as well? Again, women don’t really care how man interpret their decision not to sleep with them. It’s fine to say “I don’t want to date XYZ” the issue is when you spew vitriol about whatever it is you don’t want to date. Plenty of men argue why …

Men are far more concerned about women’s sex lives than vice versa. So that’s fine.

You can get around this issue by simply not hiring a prostitute

Is there an overlap of men who have an issue with women having a body count over 10 and also having an issue if a woman doesn’t sleep with him within the first two weeks of dating? Strikes me as quite naive to think that a woman should never engage in casual sex, unless it’s with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/23 08:54 AM

Why do you care why she’s waiting to have sex? You don’t really get a say in when or why a woman sleeps with someone. Every rational personal agrees you’re free to walk for whatever reason you like. Its interesting bc the same guys who complain women don’t sleep with him are often the same who’ll rip apart any woman with a body count over 5. Pick a battle, because “she can’t sleep with anyone else or have a history of casual sex but has to be willing to sleep with me straightaway or I walk!!” Gr…

I do agree actually, but I think most women would rather figure that out by not having sex with him than by having sex with him. In my case I always waited because I need to be comfortable around someone, I didn’t really buy into the game, but when guys got weird and pushy about it I’d cut them off then and there. I’d explain once why I like to wait and if they didn’t like it they were free to walk, but not free to push me on the matter. I’m in a LTR now so clearly did something right.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/23 08:45 AM

Nobody’s denying that women care about looks, but most men here will agree that looks are a far bigger factor for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/23 06:49 PM

Out of interest what percentage of men vs women go to the gym? Someone’s claimed that only 2% of men go to the gym but I can’t really find reputable stats on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/23 06:45 PM

Vast majority of self proclaimed nice guys aren’t all that nice. The actual nice men I know never refer to themselves as one, they just act like one. The ‘nice guy’ trope refers to men who think that acting like a normal, decent human makes them entitled to sex, and then they get nasty when they don’t get it. Actually being nice doesn’t have an ulterior motive. Sounds like you just had bad luck with women, it wasn’t because you were nice.

Why would I sleep with someone who’s given no indication he cares about anything other than sleeping with me? Sorry for having self respect ig. Btw you’re well within your right to ditch someone for not sleeping with you, like others said the main objective of women who wait is to weed out men who only want sex. You’re doing her a favour.

Where did I say it wasn’t? I’m just making the point about why imprisoning mothers for not getting jobs is ridiculous
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/23 05:06 PM

If there are young children and she’s a single mother it could be difficult for her to have a job. Also, if she’s been out of the job market for over a decade it’s going to be much harder for her to simply land a job and therefore extremely unfair and cruel to have jail time as a consequence of that.

Sounds like she had some self esteem issues, possibly exacerbated by dating someone who acted superior to her

It depends what you mean exactly by showing emotion. My ex’s way of “expressing himself” was by shouting, throwing things, crying and threatening to unalive himself because of me. Anger is very much an emotion and I don’t understand why it’s not recognised as such. And then said I was a typical woman not accepting that men have emotions when I ended it. My current bf has cried in front of me multiple times and it didn’t make me feel any differently because I’m not a sociopath, if anything it mad…

/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/23 11:01 PM

Regardless of expectations - I’m just saying the average man and woman are compatible. Whether or not they choose to go for eachother is a separate kettle of fish.
