I see mainly cam girls/OF girls be accused of exploiting lonely and or sex deprived men which seems a bit bizarre.

According to statista:

4% of all websites contain porn As well as 13% of web searches and 20% of mobile searches

Approximately 87% of men and 28% of women watch porn at least once a week.

All this to say there’s clearly a substantial demand for porn and nobody is being forced or coerced into consuming it or even paying for it as plenty of it is free. I mean, the number of NSFW subreddits alone.

I’m not judging anyone who does OF or pays for OF - it’s your life. But i don’t understand villainising women taking part in one of the worlds oldest professions to make money.

I heard this stat so I can’t remember where it came from but apparently the threshold to be a top 1% OF star is to earn not even $2000 a month and I assume that’s before taxes. Most of the women who are making a killing through online sex work usually already have a large online presence given how saturated it is.

In sex work, the only coercion taking place are women/children (men too, I’m sure) being trafficked or pimped out. The customers are there of their own volition.

I developed a nicotine habit at uni, I went from social smoker to regularly taking smoke breaks while studying and writing my dissertation. It was tricky to quit as I knew I could walk 5 minutes and spend £10 to scratch an itch but it never occurred to me to get mad at whoever was selling it to me. I got myself into that situation and it was on me to figure out another way to manage my stress.

In the similar realm of addiction, supply and demand etc why isn’t this mindset applicable to those who don’t want to consume porn?
