Thank you for the kind, thoughtful words. This is my 2nd marriage…by far more successful than my first. I’m working on it….

It’s your life, as well. Live it well. It won’t always be easy, but the good will be so much better than the bad. Make a conscious decision to be the dad your kids deserve. Do that and you’ll have no regrets.

My kid had some expenses that are associated with college, but they happened while I was paying child support. Does my payment of child support absolve me of needing to participate in covering those other expenses? We agreed to pay for 4 years of undergraduate (tuition and board).

My ex and I were as amicable as I guess it could be. The biggest fight was when she realized I was not going to fight to keep her. We had done counseling and she asked for the divorce. We had disagreements about splitting what we had and our son, but we both recognized that we were keeping our son’s best interests at heart. There was no single “eureka!” moment where we broke up, just a gradual distancing…she noticed well before I did and asked to separate. Once I saw how far apart we were I acqu…
