With my current SO, I got her number. The conversation was: Me: "When are you free? I'm into you." Her: "I'm not free this weekend but I am next" Me: "Ok. Let's go bowling" We've been dating for almost 5 months now.

See, complaining about not explaining the problem works for anything where fear is not the problem. The answer to fear is to always do it. (Unless of course you're gonna fuckin die, don't do stupid shit)

Yeah sure man, I'll give more in depth criticism soon when I have time.

Sure, I like being impulsive too. But that doesn't mean your life should be random.

In my opinion a lot of this is bogus; however, there's one takeaway that made this with reading. Avoid randomness. Don't let your life be chance, choose a way to live and live that way.

Oh definitely - I am always looking to prove. Just not through the medium of books designed to give you more confidence. I read philosophy daily and I exercise and I have a passion and I'm always pushing myself past my insecurities and comfort zone. I just think that traditional self-help only goes so far

Well generally self help books are for the beginner phase. I don't read self help anymore that is based on improving confidence because I don't have as many problems with inner game anymore. However, the point is actually taking action to improve yourself. You can't really read yourself into confidence, but it helps expand your perspective and open your perceptions up to gradual change.

This is why you need to read them.

I don't know where you've been - but literally every post I click is about inner game or a FR that stresses the importance of inner game. I remember the time that I was obsessed with learning about inner game was the time where my inner game was the weakest.

Yeah dude just make time and ask her out. Even if you can only go out like once every other week, it'll still be better than just waitinf

Stop caring dude. Do you really need a girl to text you first so you can have that momentary validation of someone wanting to talk to you? It's good to be the initiator because I'm busy and can choose to do things on my own terms. Unless I like a girl a lot, a girl texting me first and expecting immediate response is extremely annoying. I would assume a girl would feel the same.

You shouldn't need reassurance. My personal belief is that life is very lonely and is meant to be so. What that means to me is probably different than what you think, but the point is that only you can affect your happiness

I personally think confidence is self acceptance and recognizing that people are just people. It's your ability to stick through things. You might be nervous, and that's fine.

Don't forget you have shortcomings too. Learn to see oneitis as irrational, don't try to avoid it by seeing (making up) flaws in others.

I believe it's not becoming something you're not. It's adding tools to your toolbox. TO have the experience, decide if you like it, and to be able to use it when needed.

Release the need to feel comfortable. I have this problems sometimes too, although much less frequently now. Be okay with not being comfortable. Waiting to feel comfortable is like waiting to be told that you're awesome. Just do whatever the fuck you want

How do you be "genuinely interested" in people without being supplicating? I enjoy my friends and enjoy elevating them to be awesome and make them feel awesome, but I also want to cultivate the more narcissistic and asshole-ish side of my personality, because I think narcissistic and asshole humor is fucking hilarious.

I've always wondered about this. It's quite negative to think it's always your fault, and isn't it kind of "beta" (for a lack of a better word) to accept blame for everything that doesn't go right. I'm not perfect and a girl I thought things had been going well with (She'd approach me, flirt) totally blew me off a few times for dates (I should have used the 3 strike rule, but she seemed genuine so I gave her another chance) and now there isn't anything between us. Do I say "Well I fucked up some…

Maybe saying I was a fan of the red pill wasn't the greatest choice, I like the blogs in the sidebar, because those mostly pertain to developing yourself as a man. I generally tend to stay away from the rest of it.

Thank you, that helped me realize what I was trying to define is. I do feel like I'm good enough, it was never really anxiety, but maybe a dull ache of excitement and/or fear. I should want that to get stronger, I should want to have to push my limits. Thanks for the comment.

Yeah, I think it's a little ideal I have in my head about always being able to feel completely at ease with every girl. Thanks for the awesome answer, it was an eye opener.

It's training your subconscious. You're not going to go out and try the exact same thing and try to be John Cooper. You learn by seeing and doing. It's like being a musician and trying to learn a very difficult piece that requires a lot of attention to very small details, if you find a good recording and listen to it a lot, it's going to have an effect on your playing whether you're thinking about it or not. Watching comedy, reading field reports, and watching vids all do the same thing and subc…

Hahaha yeah can't wait to get out of here. I've been torn between trying to seriously improve my game and just letting myself develop. I think it may be more important to just develop myself and go after what I want rather than worrying about it too much.

It's different for everybody, I don't like being up past 10ish doing anything productive, so if I don't have plans I'll wake up earlier and get a headstart. It's just a matter of what I want to get done the next day.

I give a lot of compliments and try to build up those around me, which I like about myself. However, I don't think I inspire people in the badass way, but more in the goal oriented and kind way. I want to become more of a badass while keeping my fun and positive vibe.

It's probably important to note that I'm in highschool, and I see most of the people I talk to at least every other day. I don't seem to have problems flirting with girls I'm interested it and I don't try to show off my knowledge, I just elaborate on my opinions. I would like to become better flirting in general though, as I'm not sure how to control it, it just happens with girls I'm interested in. I like saying stupid shit too, but I have not established "alpha creds" with most people because …

I woke up at 4:30 to workout for a couple months. It's really hard at first, but you get used to it. I was really busy every night with school work and other things so I made time. It was relaxing once I got into the groove. But now, I'm not nearly as busy so I'm much more lax on wake up times. I do wake up at 5:30 most of the time though.

I'm an optimist and I'm very goal driven, I try to give value to others by bringing out the best in them by being genuinely interested in them. Kindness is part of me, I'm not being nice because I'm socially afraid, I'm being kind because I like to. You could probably say that I'm more aligned with Mark Manson (I only like some of his stuff though) on that. I have just have to learn how to say whatever the fuck I want when I want to. It's a disservice always being friendly, so I need to bring ou…

I'm probably aligned more towards Charm. I'm a naturally talented speaker (Not that I don't slip up and say stupid shit) and I just go places for my own fun. However I know that I'm a very interesting person, I'm the kind of guy people talk to about life and philosophy and pretty much anything because I have a wide variety of knowledge on lots of different subjects. Should I just put up boundaries and make them super clear as thebigspooner says?

I'm in the process of reading it. I don't kindness is the same thing as being nice. But I don't feel the need to put others down, so how do I build dominance? I don't need the ego boost from being better than others, I just feel as if dominance would be helpful in social situations.

I like to smile when I run out of things to say. If the girl is interested, they might reinitiate. The key is to get them talking the most, but give yoru personal opinions and experiences. Don't elaborate very much unless she wants you too, don't turn the conversation towards yourself. You have to be okay with silence too, you won't always have the best thing to say.

I don't really feel anything about it, but I think about how I would feel more happy about it if I got approval. I'm just over-analyzing it haha. It's weird. I think I'm trying to pull something out of something that's not there, I guess. It doesn't affect me negatively and no one else notices, so why do I care? It's kinda interesting actually.

Just do what you want, dude. Sit and think about who your ideal self would be. Then be that person, no matter what your reflex emotions say. It's a developing process, the person you want to be today will not be the same person in a year. Know what you want to be, then be it.

This is one of the better posts on entitlement. Most don't say "Entitled to deserve what you want". Most of the times I see anything on entitlement, I think of douchebags. My style is to be genuine, friendly, but still stick up for my shit and blahblahblah. But I personally see it as "I deserve anything I will take action for". It's a small change and the first most likely means the same as mine, but I like this one better because it shows that you still have to work at it no matter how much you…

How to build an awesome social circle. I talk to most everybody on a friendly level, but only have one group of friends I hang out with regularly

Maybe dominant wasn't the right word. Maybe more aggressive in what I have to say, less second guessing.

How do you build dominance? I'm fairly confident, but it's hard for me to say everything with conviction and I also have trouble building my dominance. I don't want to be a "permission boy" as RSD Julian calls it, but it's very weird for me to try to be super dominant. I'm not even sure what you'd consider dominance in an interaction.

Just ask her out. I had meant to call this girl today so I said "I had meant to call you yesterday, but it slipped my mind. Call you at 8:37?" She had work and responded with "working :(" So I just decided to ask her out over text, "It's cool. I'm about to die of exhaustion. But before I do, how about we go to the theater show this Saturday at 7?" Just go for it, if she doesn't like you, find someone else.

What do you think of a more serious and driven tone rather than a playful tone? My voice is naturally very low and I don't do well with the playful thing. Also, what do you think of avoiding canned responses? Nothing against you, I've seen it work very well for you, but I can't take myself seriously responding with the same things to different girls.

Also, the first statement is so true for me. But I don't know how to turn it around. I'm trying to work on all of my goals (not just seduction related), but with self improvement it's hard to tell. I think I'm judging myself based too much off of results, but I don't know what else to judge myself on. I frequently find myself brainstorming lists of ideas for improvement, but never put anything into action because it's not immediate results. It's hard for me, to say the least. How do I go about c…

I don't know. I felt like it was the right thing to do to not just leave it. The replies have been useful, the post wasn't as much about this girl as it was about what Setsa commented on. I guess I did respond out of neediness or something now that I think about it. This stuff is hard haha. EDIT: I had texted her earlier in the day, and when she had responded to me, that was at the height of my bad mood. I cooled off for an hour and then texted to tell her that I wasn't in a very good mood and w…

I chose to tell her that I was in a bad mood, and would call her later in the week to set up a date. I think a revelation I just had is that it doesn't matter what I do if I do what I would respect another for. If she has a problem with me being "needy" or having "non-positive energy", then I probably shouldn't care. I did what my ideal self would do. If I want respect, I have to do what I respect in others.
