I’m in the middle of my health getting wrecked. Walk around all day with extreme tension headaches that sometimes turn into migraines and I currently have a partial blockage in my intestines!!!!!!! So fun!

I feel you on this one! My situation has been going on for a while, we keep going back and forth with staying together and divorce. I got as far as filing before she said she wants to keep trying. We have been on this 2 week cycle of wanting to make it work and ready to call it quits. I have taken full accountability for what I have done to hurt her, I apologized profusely and I have been in individual therapy which is helping tremendously. She however will only apologize for the little things s…

I feel like marriage counseling was the beginning of the end for me. We had (in my opinion) a very good counselor who really helped me see our dynamic. I would listen and take advice and constructive criticism. She would shut down and say she was getting picked on because she refused to see my point of view.

I feel you on this one, I blew up on a coworker in a meeting and got a talking to by the upper management haha. I started my mental health journey as my marriage was falling apart. I have been going through all of the emotions pretty much every day. Finally getting my medication dialed in mixed with therapy so I’ve been able to stay stable. I finally got The biggest release of stress when I filed. I could literally fell my neck relax after I hung up with the lawyer. Just been going grey rock try…

I would say set boundaries now, see how she takes them. I just brushed off my stbx not caring about my day, not thinking it’s a big deal. now she can’t name a single person I work with even though I’ve been there for 2 years and work 60 hour weeks. But I know every person she likes and hates met most of them on multiple occasions. Know their family drama and everything. Also the victim mode of thinking she has a hard life! Mine was the same way, treated unfairly, bad things only happen to her, s…

If she came to me and said she realizes she played a part and takes accountability I would be willing to reconsider. I honestly don’t see that happening and if I did stay/go back, I feel like I will end up the scapegoat for her for all future and past issues. The cycle I’m trying to break will just keep happening. It’s got to be a two way street and right now she sees the only issues are because of me. Big fan of the victim card and my feelings mess up her narrative.

That’s tough! I’m still cohabiting with stbx, after telling our youngest it’s time to turn off the shows, daughter tells stbx “daddy is being mean” to which she replies “I know sweetie I’m sorry” so she’s starting early. I have that one documented

At this point I don’t think I would. She said and did things that were always a deal breaker for me, and she felt justified saying and doing those things. No accountability and no apology to me or our kids.

I’m staying in the house until a settlement is arraigned. She’ll ice me out from having my kids if I leave the house without something legal in place. I have to stay in the house and be the most calm level person there. And keep it light enough for the kids. They’ve been through enough of our BS

Excellent advice! I am definitely going to employ this method right now. I stopped drinking weeks ago since she started trying to play that angle as a means of control. She is, as I’m typing this, sending a string of emails crying about how she’s going to sell all her jewelry to pay a lawyer. She’s also letting me know I’ve torn my family apart!!! Lol I’m not falling for her guilt trip. I have not responded. Her dad has money and probably already got her a lawyer. She’s really freaking out

She’s extremely manipulative. Freaking out when I hold my boundaries. She calls my boundaries manipulation though so it gives her an excuse to keep coming at me

Oh she already has been planting the seeds to make accusations with later. I am currently in therapy and I see a psychiatrist for adhd and my depression. I have been keeping them informed of everything because she is trying to paint me as unstable and abusive. Even though she has a case with cps alleging she was physical with me. The funny(in a sad way) thing is, she is now blaming my medication for my personality change as she calls it. It was when I started getting treated for depression I sta…

Thank you, this helps! I’ve been thinking all these things but you’re right, I have still been in husband mode and it’s holding me back. I actually just spent more time than I should have trying to get her to understand why I filed. That of course went no where, she just kept saying how I’m throwing everything away and how I’ve gutted her and blah blah blah. So I blocked her lol. I did tell my direct supervisor and he responded with “Yeah the first one is always the toughest” haha so at least he…

My goals for becoming a better man in my new life are learning better communication and holding my boundaries. Something I’m just starting to learn. Maybe get better at not getting annoyed and irritable. Also spending less time on my phone and using that time to spend with my kids. They are the most important things in my life and I want to make sure they have a calm stable parent.

My stbex has been doing the same thing. Hates me one minute, tells me she’s done and I’m a terrible person and go file. Next day she’s telling me the last thing she wants is divorce. She wasn’t too happy when she found out I filed, but I could literally feel the tension in my neck start to relax so I’m pretty sure I did the right thing.

My stbex is working the same angle. Weaponizing the kids, it’s truly disgusting how someone I loved can stoop that low. Too bad her temper is worse than mine and she’s digging herself a hole

I still love her, but I do know the exact moment the door slammed shut for me wanting to work it out. Her anger towards my child gave me a flashback of my childhood. I knew then I was completely done.

I feel like I should be fired for how little I’ve put into work. Somehow my performance is fine and no one knows a thing

Oh god if I had a dollar for every time I thought of “if they only knew how close to crumbling I am” I’d have enough money for my lawyer retainer lol. Probably why I’ve posted more in this group in the last couple months than I’ve ever posted on social media

Call a doctor or hotline. Or literally anyone! He needs you more now than ever. You deserve life and happiness and no matter how hard it gets, it can always get better. It’s never easy or cheap or fun but it can get better

Oh it’s gotten much worse. She’s not currently accepting me saying I’m divorcing her, she will find out after I file I’m done playing her games

I know it’s tough and believe me I know exactly where you’re coming from. Your son needs you way more than you may realize, you need to find anything that can bring you joy. Take chances, do something you never would have done before. There’s no growth in the comfort zone and I’m pretty sure you’re far from there. Might as well be uncomfortable figuring yourself out.

I feel you with this one. My situation seems eerily similar to yours. With no friends and limited family myself I know how heavy everything feels, how utterly lonely it is. The only thing that’s really keeping me going is the fact my stbx is slowly losing her mind and someone has to be there for the kids. I’m just starting myself so I can’t tell you it gets easier, it hasn’t gotten easier for me yet

She didn’t like how I texted, literally said it was on her list of reasons. Not even the wording but the fact that I send multiple texts at a time

I let my psychiatrist know and I’ve got my therapist trying to get me in today. I’m trying to take the steps I need to stay sane

I was very close to doing that very thing just the other night. Pulled myself out of that thought process and I’m just trying to distract myself with work and the fam until I can find a healthy outlet

I’ve been wanting to get into metal working. I also volunteered to coach my 4yo in her first soccer league. Something I was not interested in doing just a couple weeks ago.

I feel like a part of me just wants to re-experience my old single life. I know it’s just the fantasized version I’ve invented that I’m wanting, but I also know it isn’t realistic. I decided to volunteer to coach my daughters soccer team instead

I should have figured it would happen like that. She never could face tough problems head on

There’s something about grey rock. I was the same way, felt like the harder I tried the less she thought of me. When I switched my focus to making me happy and more or less not giving af about what makes her happy, her tone shifted and she softened and opened up. I stayed on my path and I think she realized I’m serious so now it’s switched to I need time.

I took precautions before I left. I made sure it was known as a break for a couple of days with a determined return date. I have emails and written notes clearly stating I have no intention of moving out

I offered for her to stay in a hotel and I take care of the kids, she refused and said she wants me out for a few days. It’s all good though, I planned to bring them out to stay at the hotel with me and go swimming!

I never claimed to be perfect. I actually claimed I made a lot of really big mistakes. If you read the comment I was calling out a scammer. My apologies I got bored when I was looking for internet friends. By all means make your assumptions

I went to hot Pilates with the stbxw a few times and let me tell you. If the workout wasn’t so hard, with all the beautiful girls around something would have been 😆 But that class humbled me real quick
