I’ve been going to the gym alot more and staying active. Cut back on drinking, was seeing a therapist for a while, but will need to start doing that again. I’ve been reading more, self help books, listening to podcasts. Often times I catch myself being rude to my ex, I think it has to do with me still harboring ill feelings towards her. I know it’s childish and I have good and bad days but I’m a work in progress.

Separated for a while as well? I want to reconcile because I want my family back and see my kids everyday. What are you doing to make it possible? I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle.

Reading this has given me hope! I actually just left the courthouse today with a packet of divorce papers. I’m torn between a legal separation or just filing for divorce. I know if I file for divorce I’m not going to want to turn back and that’s what I’m deathly scared of…closing this chapter in my life. But you’re absolutely right…it might suck right now but there are bigger, brighter and better days ahead. This posting by you really meant a lot to me and is EXACTLY what I needed to read. Thank…

This is exactly what I think I needed to hear. Whether or not we end up staying together if I can’t adult, it’ll just end up happening again in my next relationship.

No I haven’t. I think I might have to do that though. I’ve been dragging my feet with that because if I file for legal separation then I feel like we definitely are getting a divorce.

No you read this correctly. At the moment she said she needs space because it’s not fair for me to go back and forth with wanting things to work or not. She’s also asked why all the sudden now I’m wanting to make an effort and not a year ago. I understand I need to grow up and I want to and will. It just hurts tremendously knowing that I don’t have someone in my corner.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
