I remember being in my early 20s thinking 40 was old as shit. Now that I’m in my 40s, I think it’s funny what we consider “old” when we’re younger.

Also something to consider: a lot of these guys complaining about their small dicks could be overweight. I forget the exact number, but for every 30 or so pounds of excess weight, men “lose” about an inch of dick (it gets buried). A really overweight man insecure about only having 3 inches could conceivably get his fat ass into shape and gain a few inches of dick - and there you go, problem solved. I’ve seen this in reverse. My former husband, when at a healthy weight, was working with an above …

You know, that’s actually the crux of the issue right there. Someone commented on another post that too many women are raised to hate themselves. I know we rag on pick-me women (and hello, I was the reigning Pick-Me Queen for about 40 years), but it truly is a sad situation.

A lot of guys need a harem. It’s “friends” on the surface but if you look closely, it’s usually more than that. There’s a lot of leaking of sexual energy between guys and their female “friends,” and if you try to say you’re uncomfortable with that, you’re labeled insecure or jealous, which is just a shitty way of minimizing your discomfort, and making you the bad guy at the same time.

The absolute worst thing a woman could do (according to men) is be fatter in real life than her profile pictures. I’ve seen comments along the lines of, “Yeah I lied about my height and relationship status, but I’ve met up with women who were heavier than their pictures and I don’t date fat women bla bla bla…” I mean, nobody should be lying about anything, but really? Being fat is the worst thing a woman could do?

Being pregnant and giving birth can be an almost… barbaric experience. Suddenly your body is no longer your own, everything is about the baby, the baby, the baby. You have strangers’ hands inside you all the freakin time, rarely do you have any actual privacy, and anything you want for yourself is seen as selfish. Why in the blue fuck does the actual giving birth have to be a spectator sport?? It’s scary, painful, and should be in the most comfortable environment for the woman giving birth. That…

I have sons. I’m open and honest with them about pretty much everything. We’ve had conversations about sexism, porn, you name it. Very open conversations. I don’t dance around these issues with them. I also don’t have any traditional gender roles in my house. Nobody is teased or told to “suck it up” for crying. Boundaries are respected. Things like rape jokes are a no-go - and not just because I told them so, but because they know it’s wrong. They can still grow to be men, just without all the t…

It’s also helpful to remember that not everyone has the same life as you, the same upbringing, or even the same culture. Every once in awhile I’ll see a judgmental comment in response to someone sharing her past. That’s not cool. Not cool at all. Thankfully, that kind of comment doesn’t happen too often. The last year and a half (or thereabouts), I’ve mostly just seen a ton of women supporting women no matter where they are at in their journey. 🤗💕

Oh hell, most of them don’t even like us. They’re attracted to us and what we can do for them, but so many men have this contempt for women that really shines through in a lot of what they do. They view respect as treating someone as an authority, and they’ll be damned if they ever see wimmin as an authority.

You nailed it. I’m never getting married again and I’m almost positive I will never live with a man - he’d have to be the best person on the planet for that to happen - so a man’s income is secondary to all the things you mentioned. A lot of these older fuckers use speech-to-text, so it’s just a giant run-on sentence, full of wrong words and sometimes straight gibberish. It’s hilarious. Just the disrespect alone, texting an ex-girlfriend from your house. If he wanted to show off his tattoo so bad, he could have texted a buddy. I know that gut-punch feeling and it sucks. You didn’t do anything wrong. You’re allowed to protect yourself. I don’t understand how a lot of people are (or pretend to be) fine with “staying friends” with exes. Making everything sexual, and just helping themselves to your body whenever they feel like it - groping, pinching, things like that. One loser I briefly dated would just help himself mid-conversation - especially if he could see the outline of my nipples through my shirt. He’d just reach over and do this creepy flicking thing. I’d be like, wtf??? He’d tell me to take it as a compliment. I fucking hate it when men just help themselves and to this day, I wear covers over my nipples so the outline …

Does anyone remember King of Queens? They totally played-up the whole “super hot woman married to overweight man-child” trope. I guess some parts were funny, but what soured me on that show was when Leah Remini (who started out at around a size 2) had a baby in real life and gained weight. She was dragged for being bigger than she was in previous seasons. Meanwhile, Kevin James could be as chubby as ever and nobody said a fucking word about that.

“Did you communicate that it’s supposed to feel good for you too? Did you communicate that it’s not all about the man’s penis??” Also, when did it become a woman’s job to teach a man what each body part is for?? (In my case, I communicated until I was blue in the face, describing in excruciating detail exactly what I needed. Made no difference. Men are going to do what’s good for the dick, not what’s good for their partners.)

Same with my former husband- when I was “lucky” enough to get sex. I’d basically ask him, “How come you get an orgasm every time, but I don’t?” The last time I asked him, he got really pissed off and asked, “Why is it so important for you to have an orgasm??” And that told me everything I needed to know.

I’m in my 40s, and men have been pulling the “sexual compatibility” line for as long as I can remember. They treat it like test driving a car; something they do to a woman - not something that a couple does together. They’re worried about how THEY are going to feel, not how the woman is going to feel. I’ve seen and heard men complaining about how sex is less frequent in their marriages or long term relationships. Their wife or girlfriend just isn’t “in the mood.” And when she finally gives in, i…

First, it goes without saying: she’s gorgeous with and without makeup. Second: women are allowed to decorate themselves if they want to, and however the want to. Personally speaking, I spent a lot of years tailoring my look according to societal expectations. Now everything I put on myself is because I like the way it looks. I see it as a mini-celebration of myself. Every time you hang a jewel on yourself, paint a nail, “paint” your face, add a little something to your hair, or toes, or wrist, i…

I do, too. I was this little girl. Unless someone intervenes, she’ll grow up thinking this is normal, “just the way things things are,” that you have to cater to men even when they’re abusing you, and she’ll find an abusive man to pick up where her father left off. 😞

Obviously pre-FDS (and I’m pretty sure I’ve told this before), but my ex boyfriend was such a loser. Not only did he get me for thousands, but for Christmas, after I’d spent a lot of effort and money buying his gifts, he had two gifts for me: a shitty sketch he’d drawn, and a framed picture of himself - one that I already had! That’s key, right there. There is no debating. No exchange of differing ideas or new information. It’s all about dominance for them. I’ve had so many guys absolutely HATE that I could go toe-to-toe with them on certain subjects - in fact, one resorted to screaming at me and drawing a chart with a marker on his kitchen floor to show me how right he was. It’s fucking ridiculous.

Also, addicts who aren’t actively and consistently participating in their own recovery are some of the biggest manipulators on the planet. They’re so pathologically self-absorbed, they refuse to wholly acknowledge how their behavior effects others. I guarantee he manipulates his therapist. I’d also bet he was crying tears of self-pity as he wrote his post. He just seems so insufferable. I hope his wife gets as far away from him as possible.

In women-focused subs, they love to derail the convo. “Men get raped too!” Yes! We know! In fact, there’s an article going around about a female prison guard sexually assaulting a male inmate. Perfect chance to have the male rape discussion, right?? Hell no, it’s men making jokes about it, talking about the video being posted to pornhub, porn references, and more jokes. I think you could be into something. While I like to hope I’ll never be in that situation again, I need to be prepared for the possibility. It’s hard to articulate exactly what you need, or require, when you’re in a lot of pain, and especially if you go into survival mode. I was thinking of maybe making a list on a notecard and keeping it in my wallet. Maybe that’s something a lot of other women should do. In a perfect world, we wouldn’t have to but... well, you know. 😐

I think part of it is the city I live outside of, where the hospital is. There’s a huge drug problem, and a huge homeless situation. The nurse who finally wheeled me back to my room even made some almost joking remarks about how jaded she is, that she doesn’t take anyone seriously anymore. That’s a really problematic thing for a nurse to say. Why even be a nurse if you essentially don’t give a shit about the people who come to you for help? I’m sure most of the time they just want to get people …

It’s so demoralizing to be treated as a nuisance. And I’m so sorry that’s been your experience. As bad as my experience was, I can’t imagine how much worse it might have been if I were a woman of color - and I know this isn’t a suffering competition, but still. It could’ve been so much worse for me. It’s like they have a checklist: Step one: she’s a woman, treat her her poorly. Step two: she’s not white, treat her even worse. I’m having a delayed anger reaction today. I keep thinking of the things I would have said or done under normal circumstances. I should have just stolen a wheelchair, and I’m only half-joking. Well, lesson learned on where NOT to go in the future, anyway. And also maybe coming up with a plan for possible future emerg…

Exactly. A recent example that had me shaking my head was a post on one of the relationship advice subs. The man posting has an adult male friend who was dating a 14 year old. He needed advice because it was disgusting to him that his friend would date someone so young, but he (the poster) didn’t want to be a “rat” or a “snitch.” So the possibility of a 14 year old girl being raped took a backseat to finding a “nice” way of putting a stop to his rapist friend.

Which is basically half my point. Whether it’s genetics, money, whatever, not everyone is going to look 40 when they’re 60, and that’s fine. Society is youth-obsessed and it usually women who pay for that obsession. As someone mentioned in another comment, aging is a privilege and (in my opinion) comes with benefits far better than possibly “looking good for your age.” A lot of women tend to overlook the benefits because we’re too busy being brainwashed into thinking aging is bad.

Also, he sees the whole thing as transactional: “I did this, that, and the other for her! I deserve what I want in return!” Instead of recognizing she’s a whole human being with feelings of her own. Sounds like they, what? Went out a time or two before he started acting weird and she lost attraction for him. Saying what a gentleman he was sounds oddly defen…

Men interested in dating me. When I made it clear I wasn’t available, they said that. You’re right, it is gross. And it says a lot about how they think of dating. No worries, I ended those conversations immediately. My annoyance was off the charts.

This gives me hope. My late husband treated me like garbage the few times I needed to go to the hospital in the decade we were married. One time, my throat had swollen almost shut (from strep). I couldn’t talk. I needed him to take me to the hospital and he yelled at me. I ended up needing to stay a few nights, and when I was being admitted, a nurse saw his attitude and asked if he understood how serious my condition was. He also treated me like crap each time I was pregnant - one was a miscarri…

Or when they do ask you questions, they’re self-serving, like they’re assessing you. “ArE yOu 420 FrIeNdLy?” Is my favorite. Man, stfu. Or, like OP pointed out, the questions are just a way for them to talk about themselves more. 🙄

Exactly. I’m kind of iffy on that myself. On one hand, I know the effects of verbal abuse, but on the other hand... I’m not sure it should be counted as violence.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/10/20 11:02 PM

So that’s a good point you brought up. I just skimmed through the study and saw that verbal “violence” was counted toward what constitutes violence. From what I can gather (and I do need to read this more in-depth), it’s basically saying that women are more likely to yell or verbally abuse males rather than hitting, raping, or killing. Males are more prone to physical violence. Maybe this is something we women need to talk about? Purely anecdotal, but my late husband had me backed against the pr…

They do it to themselves. I’m not saying that to dismiss Female-on-Male violence, because it does happen. However, male-on-anything violence happens at such an astoundingly higher rate... but they refuse to see they are the problem? And they want to bullhorn their way into conversations about violence against women. “Pay attention to me! Pay attention to male issues that males caused!” I don’t even listen anymore. Women are trying to find solutions and all men want to do is whine. Evolve or get …

Definitely the latter. It’s difficult for women to have a “regular” orgasm when we’re not relaxed, safe, and aroused, so it’s extra difficult to squirt, especially when there’s pressure or you don’t trust what your partner’s reaction might be, or you’re not even getting g-spot stimulation. I don’t remember the exact wording, but I was reading something years ago about squirting in porn. They put capsules full of something or other (I don’t remember what) in the actress’s urethra so that when she…

THEY DON’T LISTEN! That’s the crux of the issue right there. You can explain until you’re blue in the face and they’ll still go back to what feels best for them, or get all butt-hurt when you are vocal about what gets you off. One guy I was dating was obsessed with squirting. He’d be jackhammering like there was no tomorrow, saying, “I’m gonna make you squirt...” no matter how many times I told him it wasn’t happening. I got so sick of it, one of the last times we had sex, he was doing the same …

You know... it’s easy for all of us to point out what you should have done, but you already know. This could have been a lot worse, so work on a plan for the future to immediately dip when something is off. Also, I think it’s awesome you and the ex-girlfriend showed support for each other. ❤️

You’re too good to be rolling around in garbage - which is exactly what this situation is. Delete, block, and focus on yourself. No long explanations to this man, no epic saga-type paragraphs of what you need in the hopes he’ll see the light (he won’t). Cut it off immediately and don’t look back. Then make a promise to yourself that you’ll never let garbage like that invade your life again. Then do something good for yourself like a spa day or even a relaxing bath. Buy a new top. Get a pedicure.…

Nice Guys and Good Men are two different things. “Nice Guy” is secret code for “I’ll act nice as long as you do and say exactly what I want.” Men calling themselves nice is like putting lipstick on a pig. And anyway, I think they say it more to convince themselves.

You nailed it. Up until about a month ago, I had waist-length hair. The amount of work that it required was insane. Plus dealing with all the randos saying shit like, “i have a thing for long hair...” I was sick and tired of having long hair. Besides all the work, I felt it dragged my facial features down. I asked myself why I was even keeping it - certainly not for myself. So I went and got it cut super short with an undercut. I FUCKING LOVE IT. It has really cut down the number of strange men …

Narcissistic men need their little fan-clubs. I just deleted and blocked one a few days ago. When he first “friended” me, there was no sign of a girlfriend anywhere on his social media. He said nothing about being attached and would frequently try to flirt with me. Immediately after they broke up, he messaged me because he wanted to go out and have “fun.” I was so disgusted. Even more disgusted when I got a better look at his posts and the comments from so many women who were basically kissing h…

Depending on your location, you can get an anti-harassment order - I’m guessing you’d need to know the person’s full name and location, though. It’s a little different from a restraining order or no contact order and you don’t need a police report to get one. If you’re in the US, look up your county + anti-harassment order and go from there. Usually the court website will give you all the info you need.

A few years ago (obviously pre-FDS), I was dating this asshole who I suspect was low-key NPD. Treated me like crap, but in a very sneaky way. Total mind-fuck. Anyway, back then I was still smoking and I was out in my front porch having a cigarette and crying over something crappy he’d said. The curtains were closed, but through the crack between them, I could see the fat jerk sitting on my sofa picking his nose. He was in up to the second knuckle. Then when he pulled out a booger, he just sat th…

If your gut is saying something is wrong, then there’s something wrong. You’re not obligated to be friendly, or even polite, to someone who makes you uncomfortable. Tell him you’re not comfortable talking to him, and tell your dad the same thing. And please stay safe. ❤️❤️

Years ago I was running myself ragged putting in effort to try and “prove” that I was worthy of love. Any good treatment I received in return was sporadic at best. After a point (more specifically, therapy), I just stopped giving a shit and started putting myself first. The difference I saw in men’s attitudes toward me was... a little shocking at first. When they see you don’t give a shit, it really messes with their heads and they fall over themselves trying to prove themselves to you. (I’m not…

Love this! And yes, it does feel amazing. One time, I was reading a blog post by a male “dating coach,” addressing the concerns of women who say men don’t like that they’re direct and honest. His response was that these women were probably just being “tactless.” Um, excuse me, no. I’ve noticed a lot of men who absolutely hate when women are direct and honest, especially where boundaries are concerned. A couple of personal examples: One time I was meeting a guy for a date. I was already there (a …

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say most of us reached a similar realization at some point or another - and some earlier or later in life than others. I think a lot of us were/are victims of societal conditioning. So I wouldn’t beat yourself up over it. It’s huge that you’re willing to get to work on self-improvement. Don’t be daunted by a time frame. Knock out goals, work on knocking out goals, do what you can. Some of it is incremental. Be patient with yourself. Also, be proud of yourself.…

Yes. I got over it when I discovered I was using it as a form of self-harm. I’m sure it’s different for others, but that’s what it was for me. I was in what started out as grief therapy and ended up delving into other things and my “kink” was one of them. This was a few years ago and since then, there’s no way I’d allow my degradation to be sexualized.
