Happens in American courts too, judges refuses to admit evidence, judges approve or deny the defendants arguments (like self defense or innocent), tells the jury how to vote, they can cherry pick laws to enforce or deny. Of course it was a standard form letter. But threats of classifying me a criminal, just for getting a divorce was rather upsetting ontop of a difficult situtation.
