1	Hard times create strong men True, I agree that it could happen to any gender. I guess it boils down to if you think historical gender roles are a benefit society or are outdated. My family are going through some hard times at the moment, deaths, illness, money / work issues. I've had to step up to be massively and totally out my comfort zone, working extremely hard to keep our heads above water, ensuring family and friends have proper care.
