If we are talking about children in poverty most parents are working to make sure they can feed their children no? It doesn’t seem like they would have to time to read to their children or assist them. Next best thing is after school programs or tutoring which usually isn’t affordable if you don’t make much money. I’m reminded of a study of the link between violent video games and their effects on violent crime and there was no substantial link.
