My thinking was that it’s a word that gets auto-filtered by Reddit because it’s most commonly used in a hateful way, despite the fact that all words can have a valid place in mature discussion. So in order to host a constructive discussion about it, you would have to get around that. Generally I agree with you, because it’s not as if censoring it is gonna magically make it not trigger someone who would otherwise be triggered, but with these words in particular it might be to get around autofilters. Idk if it’s a subreddit-based thing, or Reddit as a whole, or maybe both, but if a post or comment contains certain keywords (like the N word) it will be automatically hidden.

Totally anecdotal here, but the majority of brutal street killings at the hands of organized bodies of crime that I’ve seen (in my copious amounts of time on shock sites) are male. It’s not often that you’ll see a female in a Funkytown situation. Men are seen as expendable. We’re “acceptable casualties”. I believe I recently learned that 54% of Reddit users are from the USA.
