My team will open the first shelter for male victims of domestic abuse and their children in Canada's largest city. I am Justin Trottier. Ask Me Anything (Thursday, 12pm EST).Thanks for the reply Justin. Very surprised/pleased with this decision. I agree that the healing process is facilitated by fostering a family atmosphere and glad you guys came to that conclusion. Keep up the great work. | /r/MensRights | 28/12/17 05:27 PM
My team will open the first shelter for male victims of domestic abuse and their children in Canada's largest city. I am Justin Trottier. Ask Me Anything (Thursday, 12pm EST).I do remember there was a CBC panel on "should men's rights groups exist on campus?" debate and Jonathan was the only one who defended their right to exist. He stated he wasn't an expert on Men's rights but he was the sole voice of reason on the panel. | /r/MensRights | 28/12/17 04:01 PM
My team will open the first shelter for male victims of domestic abuse and their children in Canada's largest city. I am Justin Trottier. Ask Me Anything (Thursday, 12pm EST).Yeah it will be interesting to hear Justin's view on this. Honestly I'm assuming they went with a "Men Only" model but I'd be interested to hear if they contemplated including women and what swayed their opinion. | /r/MensRights | 28/12/17 02:47 PM
My team will open the first shelter for male victims of domestic abuse and their children in Canada's largest city. I am Justin Trottier. Ask Me Anything (Thursday, 12pm EST).I do appreciate your response but I wanted Justin's input. I'm not saying I think they should accept both. I was merely asking if they are and what kind of questions did they have to ask themselves to come up with their stance. Maybe they weighed both options and found roadblocks. Of course there are a ton of women's shelters in Canada and I honestly don't see a reason why this shouldn't be just a "Men's only" shelter but I wanted to hear Justin's opinion. | /r/MensRights | 27/12/17 11:02 PM
My team will open the first shelter for male victims of domestic abuse and their children in Canada's largest city. I am Justin Trottier. Ask Me Anything (Thursday, 12pm EST).Just wanted to start off by saying thanks. As someone who is interested in Mensrights I find a lot of groups to be more focused on "anti-feminism" instead of issues that face men and I think Café makes the perfect balance. My question is do you plan on making your shelter accessible to abused women as well or is it going to be men only and what went into your decision to make it that way? | /r/MensRights | 27/12/17 06:14 PM

Male rape in America: A new study reveals that men are sexually assaulted almost as often as women [x-post]I would disagree with your assessment. | 0 | The Reaction Of Feminists To A Male Rape VictimSo since I call myself an MRA do I have to take responsibility for people like you? | 2 | Male rape in America: A new study reveals that men are sexually assaulted almost as often as women [x-post]Did you even click the link? It says that it found that 46% of the time women were the ones doing the raping. But I stick to my original point.....I'm sure the victims could care less and having it be a man or a women doesn't diminish the pain caused. | /r/MensRights | 01/05/14 01:27 PM

They actual do real world work (raising funds to open a mens shelter) and they are also the group responsible for all the talks posted here. She was found to not be at fault because of multiple reasons. | 8 | Male rape in America: A new study reveals that men are sexually assaulted almost as often as women [x-post]Thought I would just copy-pasta from an equally insensitive post below Think about it from the victims point of view. Does the gender of their attacker take away or add to their pain? Rape victims are rape victims hands down. Why is it you can say "Don't ask what she was wearing" in the same breath you say something like "well the rapist was a man"? | 3 | Woman suing parents of boy she killed over her emotional distressNot sure why you were downvoted. This doesn't have much to do with this subreddit. As Grainier said above she is actually just counter-suing. My friends list just got one person smaller. No, telling people "fuck you" for a perfectly reasonable response (although one you might diasgree with) is the reason this sub isn't taken seriously. Looking at your post history, you have told people to "kill themselves" and "fuck off" multiple times. It might be time to quit WOW and really take an introspective look into why you are so hateful. | 3 | Woman sets fire to man's car after he refuses to buy her a McFlurryWhat you should've pointed towards was the work of Erin Pizzey who opened a female abuse shelter and found out a lot of victims were also violent themselves and became ostracized by the local feminist groups when she pointed this out. But that was quite awhile ago and although the numbers of DV might be contested no level-headed individual (feminist or MRA) thinks it doesn't happen at all in both directions. | /r/MensRights | 18/03/14 06:59 PM |
Woman sets fire to man's car after he refuses to buy her a McFlurryAlthough your evidence is quite compelling I would bet that you might be pointing at the fringe elements of a group and painting the whole group with that label. | 2 | Guys, lets not forget that privilege is real.I think this is a really important point to make. | 1 | Video of a woman hiring a hitman to kill her husband - later set free by the Canadian justice systemThink of it from a court's perspective. Would her admitting to a hired-gun in a shady car that she wasn't beaten throw out all her claims.......hell no! There is so many holes in that. Does that mean they shouldn't have called the husband to witness. Of course not. That's the one thing that could have turned this case around.....not some statement made whilst hiring a hitman. The fact that the husband wasn't called in to defend her claims of abuse is the true travesty of this case. | /r/MensRights | 08/02/13 10:54 PM
Video of a woman hiring a hitman to kill her husband - later set free by the Canadian justice systemI'm not making any assumptions about reason for lying/not lying. All I'm saying is maybe she is sensitive about talking to a complete stranger about her spousal abuse. I seriously think this is a travesty of the court that she isn't in jail but I don't think this video "proves" she wasn't beaten. And whoever is downvoting a rational discussion doesn't get the redditquette. | /r/MensRights | 08/02/13 10:48 PM
Video of a woman hiring a hitman to kill her husband - later set free by the Canadian justice systemI thought that she didn't successfully claim duress. I thought that the Nova Scotia court acquitted her on this basis but the supreme court over-turned that ruling but put a stay on proceedings. | -1 | Video of a woman hiring a hitman to kill her husband - later set free by the Canadian justice systemI'm in no way defending her. The point I'm trying to get across is her saying "no" to the abuse question isn't a slam dunk. All it does is cast suspicion on her claims. The same claims the court decided to not challenge. | /r/MensRights | 08/02/13 02:45 PM
Video of a woman hiring a hitman to kill her husband - later set free by the Canadian justice systemWell to be perfectly honest this isn't exactly a court setting so she isn't required to tell the "whole" truth. I think at the very least this video sheds some doubt on her claims but it can't be taken as direct contradiction. At the very least they should have called the husband to court to defend her claims. | /r/MensRights | 07/02/13 08:50 PM
Nicole Ryan, who tried to hire a hitman to kill her husband, went free because she claims she was abused. However, 1:35 into this CBC video, she admits to the "hitman" (undercover cop) that her husbanI actually agree with you here. She wasn't under oath to say the whole truth. The problem here is this video should at least make people question the validity of her defense. This is a problem because her husband was never called to testify about this issue which was the conrnerstone of her duress defence. | /r/MensRights | 07/02/13 08:43 PM

More light needs to be shed on this situation and I think instead of an internal RCMP investigation we need to investigate why the alleged abuse wasn't challenged considering that was her whole defense. | /r/MensRights | 07/02/13 06:20 PM |
