No, I'm telling an addict that being an addict doesn't make them an expert on addiction, which it doesn't. You're conflating your anecdotal experience with what is generally accepted to be true.

Being a recovering addicts doesn't make you more knowledgeable on the subject. You can't "just quit" addiction. You can make a successful effort in the form of chemo and radiation therapy. Locking up an addict for a month doesn't cure addiction, it addresses acute symptoms, but only temporarily.

I don't think you understand how addiction works. It's EXACTLY like cancer or any other illness.

The best part is that Many women were against the movement because they didn't want to be on the conscription list or on the bucket crew of the fire brigade. It's why we still see so few Women on construction sites. NOBODY wants to shit in a plastic phone booth in August, least of all a Woman! Sound familiar?

That would be the very definition of equality of the sexes. Funny it's so controversial and that so few Men get full custody and support.

My ex did this to me. We'd started dating and she pulled out a photo she took of me at an event before we actually met. It was a bit odd, but so was she, as it turned out.

Yeah, mine bailed when I needed her most. She had insisted that I share details about childhood trauma that I didn't want to relive. Said she couldn't move forward unless I did. So, I stupidly trusted her and shared. I was already struggling mentally because I'd lost my job due to covid and she was on me everyday about finding something new, and was getting more and more depressed, especially having relived the trauma. I started drinking more. We had a fight one day and that was basically it. I …

This is just my opinion, but man there's such an easy to distinguish pattern. How else do you explain the divorce stats? Women just change their minds and they're incentivized to do so. I should mention that sometimes divorce is necessary, sometimes relationships are compromised by one or the other partner, but not in the numbers that we see today.

Dating in your 40's is all young Women looking for Daddies and 40 something Women who've left their marriage, got the kids and the house, along with support, and now they've done a cleanse, lost 7 lbs, got a makeover and are ready to start "living life on their terms(TM)". There's a clear trend for this in the last several decades and it largely explains the divorce statistics surrounding who initiates. Then they're shocked when that good looking guy with the great teeth, with his own contractor…

I'd buy the biggest diamond I could if I could find one Woman who didn't have such difficulty admitting when they're wrong or have done/said something hurtful. Honestly, I thought it was the Women I choose, but at my age, with my experience in the dating world, I honestly don't remember the last time I didn't get a sour apology after some long, circular argument where everything I've ever done wrong before is brought up. Ladies. Just fucking say sorry and make amends!

I have nothing against single Mothers, even the chubby ones, as long as they're self aware enough to know that based on typical Male preferences, which tend to focus on the physical, they have some strikes against them, just like I have against me based on typical female preferences, which are far more centred around financial security.

So I'm just going to chime in here real quick as I'm actually a dude who's happy being 5'8". I'm fine with Women asking my height if it's important to them, in fact it's in my profile. I'm generally not attracted to bigger (weight wise) Women, and I can understand that Women have similar physical preferences and that's perfectly ok. One of the big problems we're facing is that, like everything else, the Women's movement has been monetized and is really big business. Whether it's international Women's day, or make up, or whatever, there's huge amounts of money being spent patronizing Women so that they'll spend their money. It's really sad to me, because these commercials that always say things like, start your trial today for a brand new you in 2022 all play on typical insecurities that a lot of Women have about their age, …

The whole Men are doing it is disengenuous. The patriarchy is a social construct that benefits both CIS sexes, just in different ways. Women still benefit, and perpetuate the patriarchy by continuing to enjoy those benefits instead of refusing them. Insert your own examples of course, but an easy one is "Women and Children first". Another would be the family court statistics. I certainly don't see a huge line up of Women tradespeople at the plastic port a potty on a blustery January day. The pro…

That's not what's happening. I'm asking you, appealing to your logical and reasonable side. Choosing to be angry and destructive (because they are) means they win. You're letting them win. Think of it as an individual interaction where one person is losing their shit, red faced and frothing at the mouth. The other is stoic, sticking to the facts. Who's winning in that situation? Who wins if both are red faced and screaming?

You're focusing on the extremists in the movement, like many focus on only the incels in the MRA movement, which doesn't really reflect the reality. I do believe that there are more femcels than feminists would like to admit, but there is definitely common ground to be sought. If they, as individuals don't agree, then obviously that's a non starter, so don't engage with them. To say all feminists are bad is just counterproductive.

He's not being abusive. Not in the slightest. He doesn't want to control her time, he wants a conversation about their time together that weekend and how much of that is going to be impacted by her gaming. That's communication, not manipulation or abuse. And believe me, as a survivor of all kinds of Abuse, including DV, I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. I know there's all kinds of Abuse. You just can't accept that this Woman is the asshole. It has to be shared by both at least in your estim…

Not it really, no, especially for the reasons given. You just cannot accept putting responsibility on the Woman in this instance, and leaving it there where it belongs. If the situation were reversed, there'd be absolutely no co opting of blame between the two, you'd be hollering for the lynch mob. Stop being disengenuous.
/r/MensRights06/12/21 07:06 PM

I've addressed this already. No, we can't discuss his actions. Unless he threw something at her, him being used to a certain routine for any reason isn't manipulation, and it's certainly not abuse. You're completely grasping here.
/r/MensRights06/12/21 01:30 PM

You're entitled to your opinion, but frankly it's kind of irrelevant if you or I agree that it's genuine. A frightening number of people believe it is, and that was their response. Victims blaming, gender based shaming and Olympic gold medal winning levels of mental gymnastics and cognitive dissonance. If this is what feminists really believe is acceptable, then the movement has been corrupted. It's why I'm an egalitarian.

Maybe they're on the spectrum? I notice nobody considered that. No time for that when it's a Man. The point is that you and so many others are trying to find a subtle way to victim blame this guy. I don't care if he comes off as "soft" and incapable, nobody, absolutely no one deserves to be treated the way he was treated, and the sheer level of cognitive dissonance in the comments, coming mainly from Women, the deluge of gender based shaming, like how in the fuck can any of them say they're for …

If the situation was reversed, he'd be labeled as abusive for trying to manipulate her(correctly so, though probably not abuse just yet) into learning to drive. Then they'd start speculating about all the other ways he MUST be abusing her, that this is a huge red flag and she should leave his pathetic ass. Then there'd be a follow up comment with about 50 awards listing national DV survivor (female only, of course) resources. Man who's used to a certain routine (who knows, maybe he's on the spec…

Bro I'm 5'8" and my smoking hot girl is a 5'10, blonde south African with big tits and a serious oral fixation. Life is beautiful. Be comfortable in your skin, be confident and love yourself. Don't let people talk shit about your height, but don't let them see you get emotional about it, you just say, hey, I love who I am and I've known enough bigger Girls that I'm not into body shaming. Sorry if that's your thing but it's definitely not mine.

Lose control a bit? Jesus. And I simply disagree about the Man and the situation in general. Is she entitled to a entire weekend of gaming? Sure, doesn't mean you don't work out some details, like meals etc, that you normally DO with your partner every other weekend. That's how successful relationships work. The fact that the simple act of him trying to communicate with her sent her shrieking and acting violently (and please, for goodness sake, do not minimize this behaviour), is simply not acce…

Because an entire weekend isn't the same as a 6hr. dnd session. Because there's countless examples out there of Women losing their shit when a bf blows them off to play games. The thing is, I don't disagree that she's entitled to play, but you don't get to act the was she did when your partner interrupts you, even if they really shouldn't. /r/MensRights04/12/21 01:14 PM

No. You wouldn't. And you're exaggerating, based on the original post. We've seen what happens when the situation is reversed. The Man is completely villified and the Woman is told to drop his ass. Nobody ever says, well sweetie, you DID act immature so... Quit being disengenuous. You know how it really is out there in these situations, and it's why I'm dying on this hill.
/r/MensRights04/12/21 01:12 PM

It is what you're saying though. That's the point. People are speculating about "what really happened", but at face value, this Woman is a raging psychopath, and this guy is the quiet, non confrontational type who's used to a routine. Nobody talked about her reaction, just the way "he clearly set her off". It's cognitive dissonance, and it's dangerous, and it does nothing to improve relations between genders.
/r/MensRights04/12/21 01:09 PM

See again, it's all about emmasculating him and victim blaming. The second he raised his voice and threw his keeps, you'd be calling for her to leave him, find a safe space etc.... you'd be screaming murder. Stop acting like you wouldn't.
/r/MensRights04/12/21 01:04 PM

They're absolutely projecting, you're right. I don't even blame them. Unfortunately, they have good reason to be angry at a lot of the Men in their lives. It just gets real when you can't reach them beyond that point. They're so angry and fired up, you can't even get them to agree that the sky is blue. I took the guys post at face value. Your very first point is utter emasculation. You don't get to decide what is masculine in 2021, just that all people are treated equally, regardless of gender identity. I can't have a discussion in good faith with someone who leads with utter emasculation.
/r/MensRights04/12/21 03:18 AM

They're so wild eyed over there with their oppourtunity to complete gut some seemingly weak Male that there's just no reasoning with them. They smell blood and their eyes roll up in their head like sharks. Absolutely horrifying, not only within the context of the specific example, but just in general. You can literally point out the hypocrisy, and they just shrug and double down. How do you reason with that mindset? It reminds me a lot of American political discourse in the past ten years.

That's my point. Anyone being physically abused in a scenario, isn't the asshole. You and others are grossly minimizing her behaviour. As an egalitarian, it's really, really disturbing to me. Nobody deserves to have things thrown at them, have someone, that says they love them, SHRIEKING at them. It's wrong, regardless of gender, and it's really upsetting to me that so many of you are doubling down after having this clearly and succinctly pointed out to you. No, that's not at all how I read it. I read it that he was concerned with her taking work off and changing up their routine. All he did was ask her to join him for breakfast like they normally do. Of course she's entitled to gaming time. She's not entitled to be abusive. That's why he's crying.

What did he do? He asked her to join him for breakfast and she lost her shit and made him cry. Come on now. Here's the thing, I keep picturing my very meek Son, who hates confrontation and yelling. He would absolutely break down if he experienced this. This is NOT ok.

Nah, I think it's pretty reasonable to consider your partner in these types of situations. It's straight up Misandry. They're literally victim blaming him for the physical abuse. It's sick.

Because family court reflects society, and it's terribly sexist views on Father's as parents, especially as equal or primary care givers. You'll literally do better if a Woman speaks for you, but it won't be easy.

I got into it with some misandrist yesterday on another sub. The crux of their argument was that Men created the patriarchy, perpetuate it, benefit most and that sexism doesn't exist for Men. "Why is it Women's fault that Men's suicide rates are so much higher???' I never said it was Women's fault, but they feel into the classic feminist, zero sum equation. Then they started with the ad hominem approach and I just had to block them. These people sound like the chauvinists did in the 60s and it's…

Forced sex of any kind should be called rape. I was forced to receive oral sex from a friend who liked me when I was 16. She knew I didn't like her that way. A bunch of us were away camping and drinking, eventually I go to my tent, and am awoken to her tongue in my mouth, and I remember feeling her braces. I told her no. She insisted and held me down. I don't think you understand what a social construct, or generally accepted term is, or you wouldn't be so hung up on what it's named. That's not meant as insult, it's just there seems to be a cognitive disconnect here.

Holy shit dude. How many times do I have to say I don't agree with the narrative but that it's still a generally accepted term to describe the social construct? No. You're assuming I agree with the way the patriarchy has been framed. I don't, but there's definitely been a social contract between the CIS sexes that has been coined " the patriarchy". There's no game.
/r/MensRights08/11/21 06:27 PM

How can you not believe in what has been termed, "the patriarchy". It's a real social construct that has been used to malign men! I didn't name it, I don't agree with the premise it implies which is that we Men are the problem. I think maybe some of you are missing my point.
/r/MensRights08/11/21 06:17 PM
-11

Because it is. The patriarchy is a conveniently masculine name to describe a social construct in which Men, Women, Trans and non binary all benefit and suffer. Some more than others, but it absolutely does affect everyone depending on context. Unfortunately, most feminists conflate the term Patriarchy to literally mean Men, as in Men are the problem for ALL OF OUR TROUBLES, mine and yours so if you're a Man, this is your fault. It's meant as a way to indict Men without sounding sexist. We Men ch…

See here you make a valid point. Everyone here agrees that Women face challenges because of their gender, and wants to address those inequalities. All we do here is talk about how the patriarchy affects Men "as well* and how we can address those inequalities. Unfortunately, to do so is considered sacrilege because it somehow minimizes the struggles Women face, which it simply doesn't. /r/MensRights04/08/21 12:56 PM

This absolutely is "it". The fact is that anything that even sounds like it challenges the position of Women's views on the subject is sacrilege. We can't talk about being assaulted, mistreated and otherwise abused without being shouted down by some angry misandrist pretending to care about Women's issues. You can't even post in r/feminism as a man unless you lick their boots. Heaven forfend that you try to have an open discussion about how the patriarchy affects all genders. Think about that.

I think it's really important to take a post like this and understand that the point really is, and should be, all genders face difficulties based on the norms and perceived gender roles in our society. We need to remove gender from the discussion, and just listen to people and address those issues. We need to, all genders, stop with the gatekeeping and the bad faith arguments. I don't agree with their comment, but this is far, FAR beyond simple infidelity. There should be real consequences for this kind of assault. /r/PussyPassDenied13/07/21 11:06 AM

Nah. I absolutely agree that what this Woman did is deplorable, unforgivable and frankly worthy of her punishment, maybe more, but making infidelity illegal??? That's as much human nature as spreading our seed. Tricking men into raising kids that aren't theirs, lying about it and stuff, yeah, that's a kind of assault Woman will ever experience, and I'd argue it's just as damaging as rape is to anyone.

You sanctimonious, miserable fucking cunt, I'm doing this, while it's in the news and people actually seem to be paying attention so my kid and grand kids might be treated better if it happens to them. Jesus …

Fuck you, you disgusting, soulless human being. You're literally proving my point. In a men's rights sub. What the fuck is wrong with you?

Fuck you.

I'm not trying to play a victim, I am one. And yes, this is the third major female celebrity to be accused recently, and this is the first one getting any interest at all. So what theres no problem now? People do not care when men are assaulted, sexually or otherwise by women. Certainly not nearly as much as when women are victims.

Good. I hope my point wasn't lost on everyone because it got 13k on one sub.

It needs to be at the top of r/all.

No. If someone is using your need to make a living, in any industry, to get sex from you, that is extortion and therefore abuse. We absolutely cannot suggest that these actresses aren't victims in this case.

Let's be clear. Using a position of power, to get sex, is abuse. I agree that these women shouldn't have agreed to do it, but what he did is far worse. We wouldn't want our daughters thinking that they had no choice other than to agree to sex in exchange for anything, would we?

There's a post about it there now. I doubt it will gain traction.

Actually, they ironically have a point.

Meh, to be honest, guys who send unsolicited dick pics don't deserve the same treatment as everyone else...

Honestly, I keep posting it because I want to reach out to them, bridge the gap, find some kind of common ground with them. The truth is, it's turning into something of a gender war, and both sides share responsibility. Right now, our problem is that the narrative is, "it doesn't happen to men", or some variation on that theme. The best thing we can do is find and share evidence of the everyday issues and specifically the injustices men face everyday. And we do that not to say we have it worse, …

I read something somewhere, I can't remember where, but it's like we've turned women into some kind of deity, and to even question their opinion is considered sacrilege. It doesn't matter if you are being logical, using fact based, critical thinking, it's just a no no.

I'm all for child support for fathers who chose to be father's, however if a man loses all rights at conception, then he should also not be held responsible financially. Abortion as birth control is her right, and hers alone. Her body. Her choice. Her responsibility. It's really that simple to me.

Whoa whoa whoa wait. American males still have to register for a potential military draft???

Thank you for saying this here. My only hope is that you will carry this message wherever you go. We really, really need women to speak up.

Honestly. What in the fuck??? We REALLY need the women in our lives to speak up for us. Literally NOBODY cares about male victims of abuse. FUCK!!!

Seriously though, at what point does someone actually contact the police? If a man wrote this kind of stuff he'd get corrected bloody quick.

You absolutely must document and file with the court. The only way to break the cycle is to legally hold her accountable. She's hanging herself here. Let her.

I love that the very top comment is about sticking to the issues and knowing when to stop. One of my biggest complaints about the modern Feminist movement is the lack of reason and restraint. She can be screaming in your face, nose to nose, but don't you dare suggest that she "calm down".

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
