Bit hypocritical of you to say to mind your own business when you're out there "correcting misinformation".
/r/MensRights25/03/20 10:12 PM

If you were here to correct misinformation, you would have spent 5 seconds finding a link rather than arguing semantics with me. Giving someone a source isn't stopping them from thinking for themselves. We're all busy, but if you are here to correct misinformation as you claim, it would have been much better to give the guy what he asked for, a simple source for your claims. My comments are intended to change your mind and the minds of others reading this after. Providing a source will make othe…

So just here to whine, contribute to a circle jerk and tribalism? You say you're here to show truth, but it's not only the person you're replying to reading this. Maybe by being the better person and copying a link you'll do that more effectively. As it stands, you're just posting something you don't like to a group of people that you already know don't like it. Hardly exposing anything.

Good luck changing people's minds with that attitude.

calling women evil isn't sexism. ok I think we can end this right here. regardless of whether it's done out of ignorance or malice, calling women evil is sexism. and when women call men evil this sub is shares the screencap gets upvotes a hundred times over. That's not only sexist, but shows how little self awareness some people on this sub have and demonstrates the very hipocracy in us that we criticise in them.
/r/MensRights04/02/20 09:24 AM
4

That is not the sexism I’m referring to, everyone should be allowed to point out the differences. Saying that women are inherently evil however, is something I saw frequently on that sub and is the very thing we demonise in feminism when they call us evil.
/r/MensRights04/02/20 08:38 AM

I'm not disagreeing. I've also advocated the banning of those subs. I am saying however that MIGTOW did deserve to be quarantined and we have to be careful that what happens to this sub dosent send us the same way.
/r/MensRights02/02/20 09:21 AM

I'm not saying that the other subreddits shouldn't be quarenteened. I'm just saying that we shouldn't become so blinded by hatred of all things not men's rights that we forget that there are parts of our movement that are utter shit too. Also I'm not American.
/r/MensRights01/02/20 03:14 PM

Just because there are other toxic subs does not mean that Migtow didn't deserve it.
/r/MensRights01/02/20 07:52 AM

That's a bit unfair, and that is the sexism we should be focusing on, but let's not pretend that Migtow was a subreddit that deserves to stay.
/r/MensRights01/02/20 07:51 AM

The sub was a toxic, sexist pit. I visited it a few times to see what it was like and there was no denying it. We also have to watch out for the same happening to this sub.
/r/MensRights31/01/20 10:42 PM
12

I think we should be more worried about this influx of people who have been pushed from that sub. While the migtow message is perfectly fine, many people in that sub do hold outright anti female views. When they come here the same downturn in hivemind will happen to this sub. it happens before with incel and it'll happen again.

Your last post in migtow was calling the mods a bunch of “manginas” Somehow I don’t think it was your story that got you removed.

Behind you all the way. No one wants there to be more abortions. While the decision is and should be in the hands of the mother, I wish there was a way both parents could have an input.

I think you've misunderstood me. I literaly just stated that and I quote: "I don't beleive it exists." In reference to toxic masculinity. Don't turn a discussion into a confrentation.
/r/MensRights30/01/19 06:46 PM

I don't beleive it exists. I beleive people can be dicks. Guys will often be dicks in different ways, but not always. Hence why I said "so called."

I have to say this post is a little facetious. Society has always been built by men and women. Furthermore, toxic aspects of either gender are still non desirable. I'll agree the the attack on masculinity is real and damaging. But it is important to remember not to straw man. Being strong willed and determined are not factors of so called "toxic masculinity" just masculinity. Your title also seems top contradict the actual image you posted. One referring to just masculinity and the other toxic m…

What you may expect is not reality. Reality is people are misinterpreting the term in the context it is used.

Please try and educate this sub then. What do you mean by toxic masculinity and how do you think this sub misrepresents it.
/r/MensRights19/01/19 12:23 AM

Why not present your argument? Just because this has been posted dosent mean everyone agrees with it. There are people here arguing against what is posted and the nuances of the discussion. I for one would like to hear why this had made you want to leave.
/r/MensRights19/01/19 12:21 AM

Feminism and feminist theory has a very real problem with nomenclature. Do you expect people who don't engage with the discussion to understand these nuanced terms and not be called "buthurt" for not doing so? It different help that everyone is using these ambiguous terms in different ways only serves to worsen the disconnect.

Didn't say anything of the sort. Just lamenting that we're held back by certain groups that continue to aggressively attack feminism using the same techniques they complain about being used on MRAs

For a long time the mods here did their best to remove as little as possible in the name of free speech. But now we have people joining this community who are working against the goal and promoting alt-right views. I think the mods should at least do something to make a stand. A statement at least.

Are they still friends? are they still colleagues? I know a few professors who wouldn't turn down a bit of spare cash. I know more that would lie. I'm not saying said author is, just that they might be, and you're in no position to claim Peterson is untrustworthy through a similar source. I disagree with the idea that gun control would make 0 difference to school shootings. I haven't heard him say that but I have no reason to doubt you. Many people can't decide if they believe in God. I'm not trying to change your mind nor ask you to believe in his message. I'm asking you to explain your point of view and tell me why I shouldn't trust Peterson. He's an author for the star. I couldn't give a flying fuck who Peterson is. I'm not part of a cult worshipping him. I appreciate what he has to say because he reasons his points through. I'd he said something I disagree with and he has, because he reasons it through I can find where we disagree. who is he? I don't care. I have no idea "who" this author is and if who someone is is important to you like it apparently is, then you should look up who the author really is, what's the authors agenda, …

Ok I read parts and skimmed others. Which is much more than i could be reasonably expected to do given its length. that article is long and for a reason. It contains nothing of value. If you genuinely wanted to change my opinion it's not the way to do it. The author takes a long time to say nothing and then does not back up anything he says. I have no cause to trust this author, he writes for a news outlet I don't trust in a manner I don't trust for an audience I don't trust. I dislike this auth…

I support you in you calling yourself a feminist. You have as much right to the word as more militant people. I would just advise you to be careful in describing your views as to bout be misrepresented. you seem to be doing ok so far. This is something both sides face. I can call myself an MRA but I would never do so in real life, just like most feminists wouldn't say in this subreddit that they are. both sides have groups muddying the waters and making things harder for those of us with common …

No, you are right, most women just want equality, but how they want it is questionable. I notice when talking to my female friends that they ignore or justify the issues that men face. I know the majority have no agenda or ill will but they have been subtly misled by the wider feminist movement to believe that men are somehow in control and that they are incapable of experiencing sexism. ideology != movement != members

Feeding the troll can also be just engaging them. Your convent could also be interpreted as them getting to you, prompting a response. Stopping to their level will hinder mens rights progress as it gives opponents ammunition. I know it's petty and unfair, butt as a movement we must be whiter than white to gain traction in the eyes of western media. Everyone that keeps their cool can show the outside that we're serious and well meaning. Insults could be used to label us as childish and hateful, e…

I agree that the ideology means equality, but I believe the movement as a whole no longer stands for that ideal. It leaves us in a strange stop where one word means different things to those using it. It really muddies the waters and makes it hard to discuss things. I also can’t help but feel this only helps those feminists with anterior motives and leaves any good ones out in the dust with MRAs.

Come on dude, there’s no need for that. They’re either a troll or misguided. Whichever one it is, responding like that doesn’t get us anywhere. You either feed the troll or prove them right.

I'd rather you explain the viewpoint you hold. I want to understand it. That and I want to see what your focused comments look like. Was it not you who said Reading this has been entertaining. No analogy can model a circumstance perfectly, the original cooment i took issue with was someone saying, not all guns are loaded. The risk is not great enough to warrant the comparison you made, nor the suggestion you put forward. No doubt these events need attention and to be dealt with, but they in no way require complete isolation from women. There's no doubt in my mind that this would exacerbate the issue. This subreddit isn't migtow or red pill.

I wouldn't agree. Im circumcised for medical reasons. Saying that I've been mutilated just isn't accurate in my mind. Would you say an amputee has been mutilated?

Im saying that like crossing the road, driving ect. People accept small risks. While I agree the current trend is both significant and worrying, the risk is small enough that people accept it. It does not need hyperbole and scaremongering to be combated.
