Try this, anytime she makes a joke or laughs at you joke, just touch her knee. Start with short touches, and them longer as you guys get more comfortable. The big thing is conversation. I worked with plenty of waitresses, and no matter how good looking or charming the guy, if you tip like shit and leave your number, you will get laughed at. 1	How can I be more aware of my surroundings? It's practice like anything else. Don't worry about peoples' reactions to you. If you look and act confident, they'll make the connections for you. As far as getting to know your surroundings, as I said before, practice. Make yourself look at something someone is wearing or carrying. Or make note of a room's color or decor. What made me change, was I started working hard and accomplishing things at a level I should have been at all along. With the work came validation, not from others, but from myself. That's the important thing this subreddit teaches. Know yourself, and be confident that you are worth it.
