Slow cookers - definitely. Chili, stew, meats/bbq, vegetables, etc. Healthy, easy to do yourself, you don't need to purchase a person to cook for you.

I agree with this. When I was younger I heard men ranging from my Dad to Ted Nugent all say: whatever job you're in, be the best. Figure out what you're good at, do it, and be the best you can. All my career I have been a technologist (which I'm good at) never a supervisor (which I'd suck at, even if it has higher pay and status). I feel pretty secure.
