Why does TRP think that it is ok to use dehumanizing labels for people? So they are intended to offend? Is weeding out people a goal of TRP? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/02/14 04:51 PM
Should Men Raise Children? In essence what I am wondering is whether your observations about a group might affect your choice of actions. Let me put it this way then: to apply a generalization to an individual is without proof of its veracity is wrong, imo. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/11/13 11:00 PM
Should Men Raise Children?Personally, I would want there be a supposition of innocence for the father and mother (with innocence meaning adequate care-giver), and the burden of proof therefore lying with the state or the opposite parent to prove the other parent's inadequacy. Otherwise, joint custody is in order. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/11/13 10:33 PM
Should Men Raise Children? If the general rule was scientifically observed ( a big hypothetical to swallow, imo), then noting the observation would not be misandry. Drawing an as yet unproven conclusion that men are biologically inferior rather than socially conditioned to be inferior care givers would be misandry. Applying the generalization as a stereotype on to individuals without regards to their individual care-giving fitness would be misandry. I'm curious where you're going with this OP. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/11/13 10:06 PM
Emotional stonewalling: the core burden of masculinityWe double down because it's highly effective. It's a case by case scenario though. I'm happily married to a woman who also rejects these artificial expectations of masculinity. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 05/11/13 10:25 PM
Emotional stonewalling: the core burden of masculinityI think OP does a good job of explaining a few of the many burdens of our society's expectations of masculinity. I also think we men internalize these social norms so early and so fully, that we take them for granted. I therefore think a lot of red pillers' frustrations aren't truly the result of feminism or women, but rather those social expectations, which they end up doubling down on. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 05/11/13 09:52 PM
| 5 | Emotional stonewalling: the core burden of masculinity30 year old, 5'7" guy checking in here. I've never been in a fight in my life, and have probably only had 1 or 2 instances where I thought a fight might happen. Just goes to show everyone's mileage varies.
