So first, I think it's only fair that if you are working so hard on your health that he do something for his. Because it does sound like there could be medical going on on his end as well. Not even being able to get aroused at all from trying pornography, and claiming it's one issue after another, would point to some underlying issue. I do think it's very important to take care of yourself! But it sounds like you've been seriously trying. Working with a dietitian, and making changes that last. S…

Yes, I graduated from a nursing program and have worked in many areas. Like being a doula and lactation consultant, as well as a music teacher to children, and a nanny. The benefits of being a SAHM are huge. I've got a two year old who has medical issues, so her care has been intense. And I've been able to be there for her, night and day, around the clock. It's the only reason I noticed tiny details and changes in her condition that helped us put together answers. She has medical issues that pre…

My husband and I had been good friends for maybe eight months prior to dating. Keep in mind we are religious, so our timeline may be a bit faster than most. But it was a summer between college semesters when neither of us were taking classes, so we saw each other practically every day for a little over two months. His family loved me, my family loved him, and we were head over heels for each other. But we had also both had relationships sour in the past, me especially, I was actually an abuse su…

I guess it's how you define a HVM. If you want some hotshot executive and to be a decoration on his arm, then yeah you should probably count carbs, get your nails done, and count hours at the gym. My husband couldn't care less about that. I want a family man. Someone who wanted to be a father, take care of his family, and create a sanctuary together. My husband wanted a woman who was healthy and beautiful, surely! But also someone who wanted to have fun, have intelligent converations with, was g…

I don't disagree. And I'm well aware the US has major issues with being overweight, again, I work in healthcare. But this was in response to some recent posts about hyper-fixating on weight alone and attributes of thinness to be attractive. I was offering a counter-perspective to obsession with thinness and attributes of being underweight, which is also incredibly glorified in the US. My point was that true health is in the middle of these extremes, in moderation, and working from the inside out…

Perhaps I should rephrase as "BMI alone is a poor indicator of health", just as weight alone is a poor indicator of health. Real health, the kind that lasts a lifetime, consists of a diet of real food, healthy fats, is rich in minerals, healthy amount of exercise, anti-inflammatory foods, and so on. My point was to say that if someone is doing said things, the weight that their body naturally settles at is their healthy weight regardless of BMI. Health goes beyond that as well. Mental health pro…

Yes, pelvic outlet size does not always directly correlate to overall hip size, thank you for that important note! But I was just pointing out that wide hips don't always equal overweight haha! And yes I agree, the US is the land of extremes honestly. And I feel that women could be so much happier but focusing on a healthy medium, sustainable changes, indulgence within reason, and taking care of themselves!

BMI is a very poor indicator of health. It was never designed to be used as such, only as an arbitrary measurement There is SO much that plays into attraction like ethnicity, culture, region, personal experience, bias, and preferances, and so on. It's really impossible to give much of a blanket answer beyond some basic generalizations that still won't apply to everyone. Age plays into this as well. Most women naturally gain some weight after the 18-21/22 year old range. I work in women's health,…

If I could go back and do it all again I would have budgeted for a housekeeper and mother's helper the first 3-6 months after birth. We were nearby my in-laws at the time, which is why I didn't, but they became.toxic shortly after her birth. I'm actually a nurse and a lactation consultant, and I still needed a more experienced LC for my daughters complex needs. I would have had all of those people lined up to help me in those early months. Now I just have a teen mother's helper that comes and pl…

This is absolutely a real problem. And it's made worse if you had a difficult birth and recovery, a child with complications and/or an intense personality, or like me, and you have all of that and more. We attachment parent, and my husband fully supports that. I've been cosleeping with our daughter since birth, and had to.contact nap for the first year. To make things harder, our daughter had medical complications that took most of her first year to figure out, and I had severe birth injuries th…

How do you feel about enforcing boundaries with toxic family members or friends? Are you prepared to put our little family first? Do you know how to argue with our using intimidation, put-downs, or stonewalling? Are you the first to apologize? Do you yell.when you're angry? Everything about parenting. Views on birth, infant care, discipline, everything. Is it important that your spouse support you during birth? How does he feel about that? Down to who does the dishes when you've been up all nigh…

This is so true. As a new mom, floating around in mom groups, this is a huge dilemma for the vast majority of working mother's that aren't massively high wage earners. They literally barely make enough to.cover the expenses of working, but feel that they don't have any other choice. As someone who worked in very high quality and expensive daycares, unless you are paying for absolute top of the line Montessori daycares or a private nanny, you're paying for mediocre care. For a room full.of.too ma…

You're welcome! I'm from a similar family, and had a similar struggle at your age. I went into nursing school due to family pressure and hated it. I did finish! But I got married and had to break free of the influence and ended up doing things way more meaningful to me. I'm glad I finished but forcing myself through a program like that that I didn't actually want nearly broke me. And now I have a much healthier and happier relationship with my family. So then you'll want to weigh the choice betw…

As others have said, you do have lots of non-law school options with a political science bachelor's degree. But it's also never too late to change routes, you're very young! I'm also on the boat of not getting a degree just to have it, especially if you are accruing debt to get it. I would say take some time to consider what you actually enjoy and what interests you. Maybe take a semester off and work in some jobs you find interesting. I feel that sometimes we push going adults into college way …
