I've dated introverts who were able to ask me out and show me that they cared. They wanted to so they did. It's not hard - it's basic communication skills. "If he wanted to, he would" quickly weeds out cheaters, liars, and abusers so women can spend time with people that deserve our affections and reciprocate. If he's not reciprocating, what's the point? I'm happy to miss out on those mommy-bang-maid-therapist relationships.

I've been wondering for a while if I should actively explore my 10% bi-sexual side. I want empathy and kindness from a partner. I'm constantly told I ask too much from men (the bare minimum, lolz) so maybe it's time to stop asking. I'm not sure how to go about it since I've never properly dated a woman. The only thing stopping me is that I don't want to come off as a rude new inexperienced lesbian. Maybe it's time to pull that trigger and start making all new mistakes. If I continue dating men I…

No one is entitled to access to you. You may cut them off for any reason. The "give them another chance" chorus is loud but it's ignoring that you craft your own reality. They settled for lousy boyfriends and other energy drains in their lives. You don't have to!

Yes! Dating should not be your only topic of conversation. Life is long. You'll have so many opportunities to do whatever you want! Don't squander that opportunity. Several friends recently told me they don't want to die alone. So don't! Invest in your friends! Invest in your life! If you marry a man older than you statistically he's going to go first. And then you'll wonder where your life went. I see too many women who made life decisions for a man rather than with a man and can't figure out w…

What a crock. Total failure to mention that most men using online dating platforms are already in a relationship. Why should polygamy be encouraged if men are already in relationships? I wonder if the author got dizzy from his mental gymnastics. Edit: For those of you wondering about this statistic, several years ago the number was about 40%. I imagine that number has only gone up. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/may/07/dating-app-tinder-married-relationship Just this morning I saw a…

They didn't buy anything.... Why do I always hope that these things won't be so bad? Like, maybe she was really into the Stoney Clover Lane purses at Target and he was going to buy her one? Nope. She could just cut out the middle man (Hinge) and sleep with the random dudes that hit on girls in Target. Both options are on the same level.

There was an Aiden in my book club. Fortunately he didn't last long. Got creepy with all the girls and then bailed. Probably joined every Meetup within 100 miles to meet girls not realizing he's the reason we don't enjoy dating. Now I'm focused on meeting women who enjoy the same actives I do. We're having picnics in the park and scary movie nights without some loser trying to grope and stalk us!

In my area she would terminate his lease with 60 days notice because he is a long term tenant. Since children are involved she should really speak with a lawyer. He could make her life complicated for a long time. She likely needs a custody and support agreement in writing.

I've always been attracted to engineering types. I like a man who's curious about the world and likes creating things. I like someone who enjoys their hobbies and is passionate about them. And if his hobbies happen to take up a lot of time I don't mind because I have my own hobbies. I need a man with his own life, his own friends and support system. Not someone that needs constant entertainment. Not someone who thinks women are free therapy. Someone who goes to therapy when he needs it, goes to …

I usually ask a general question about how they view parenting and their role as a dad. They ALWAYS jump straight to how great it's going to be to watch their kid play sports. These men have no idea that raising kids is work because they won't be doing the work.

The HVM men I know LOVE their wives. Full stop. You've hit the nail on the head - HVM truly value human connection. One HVM I know used to attend a group activity with his wife. He repeatedly asked an LVM in the group to stop talking about sex/being gross constantly. The LVM didn't stop so the HV couple stopped coming. I see this HV couple happily running a business together, traveling together, raising a family, doing charity work.... it looks awesome. They are married for almost 30 years now. …

I've seen FDS shared a few times. It's mostly to "prove" that we're bad people - total projection. Fortunately, people usually call out these posts. We just want to date terrific people. It's not that much to ask and most people get it. Have you ever seen r/FemaleLevelUpStrategy reposted? Nope. Doesn't fit their women hating agenda.

The amount of pickmes in life is too high! Being a pickme is pretty much the only option that these women felt supported in so of course they will defend it vigorously. It looks exhausting. I'm sure they look at me and think leveling up is exhausting. It is.

Wow, that sucks. I'm sorry she did this. Sometimes we have to let go of people that are important to us. I had a friend similar to this and it just got worse. Go low contact or cut her off. It sounds like she invited him with a purpose and used you for cover.

A man once bought me a $300 bottle of wine when we were still mostly strangers. He's a workaholic (lawyer) who can't sustain a relationship, so we're just friends now. It wasn't the wine or expensive dinner that impressed me. He's kind and empathic which is amazing to be around. Men should be able to afford nicer things as they get older and more established.

I like to wait until I feel like I really know someone before we bring friends into the equation. Of course there's a lot of variation depending on the circumstances. I live in a social town so sometimes it happens early. I've noticed a weird trend of meeting the friends on the third date. I don't like it. It says that their friend's opinion of you is important, too important. Can you imagine what other things would need to be run by their friends if they needed third date external approval? Bas…

Good for you! People are so flaky and then pout like children at the consequences of their actions. I know FDS is against that final "gotcha" text but I did something similar with a guy I briefly dated and it was so satisfying. Your friend is an idiot. Why do they even bother apologizing? I'm a bit confused about the note. Why did he have to write the note to the university? What's the link here, is it an internship? I usually had coordinators I could bring concerns to, or a job office that would make sure the employer couldn't advertise using the university system anymore. Generally writing the truth is a good way to go. "This was a great job until Mr. X became obsessed with my personal life, my family, my boyfriend, our connections and money. I used to have an office next door to a therapist. His voice really carried and I could hear most of what he said. He spent so much of the sessions talking about himself! No one hires a therapist to learn about what movies the therapist likes! He would try to make analogies to obscure movies and then have to tell the whole freaking plot to get to his point. It really put me off getting help when I was ready to do that. He told me a story of another male therapist that lost their license for whip…

Don't borrow money from men. But if you do structure it like a loan and get it in writing. I know it's not "romantic" but it kills my sex drive to read about women who are paying $300 a month for food and a laundry basket. I would have said "thanks for the gift"! When did it become shameful to just get roommates? This seems far more pathetic than living with people who might actually like you. If it's just a business transaction roommates are better!

Thank goodness my gym has a "no bothering people" policy. And they actually enforce it! It's awesome. So glad I joined. No texting while on equipment, no videos, etc. And I'm getting strong! Anyway, I try not to make eye contact at all when I'm at the gym. My existence is not an invitation. I'm just trying to level up physically. Which is a bit awkward since I noticed that hot gym guy is my neighbor and we both walk there around the same time..... I wouldn't mind starting a conversation!

He's codependent but married to make her feel safe? No, just no. He cheated on her before. And... if I'm reading this right stopping the emotional affair he was having was "against his conscience".... as if he has any grasp on right and wrong. He's not even considering telling the ex he can't talk because he cares about his wife's feelings. He... wants to live under a rock... but still talk to the ex while getting all the benefits of marriage. This word vomit is why I'm still single.

Some people are just helpless. I used to get asked a lot how to break into my field. I learned that the first thing I should do is ask for a copy of their resume. Maybe 1 out of 20 times would any of these people send me a resume. But I would still see them asking other people and posting online about how to find a new job. Asking for a resume saved me a lot of time. It's the bare minimum and most people can't do it. The problem is that these women don't have any agency. They don't feel "allowed…

Funny how men throw around their "principles" when it comes to controlling women. I bet she started selling on Etsy after losing herself to motherhood. Every cheater I've ever met portrayed himself as a "struggling hero". Um, what? If you can't deal with something as easy as monogamy how are you going to be a hero? TV needs to show more blocking and deleting but that wouldn't make for thrilling tv. They never show the "hero" not saving you because he's too busy with another Tinder date.

I think it's a cultural trend. People are getting flaky af. They get the dopamine rush from "trying" and never feel the need to follow up because that's actual work. It's annoying. And it's worse when you are trying to do one-on-one and actually get to know someone. Somehow that's not valuable anymore.

I think this whole thing was manufactured for publicity. It's nice that an apology was given, but Will Smith laughed at the joke. And, maybe, just maybe, were his actions supposed to show that he is dedicated to his marriage? His open marriage? I don't know. There's something off about this whole thing. Silence means they are waiting for you to negotiate against yourself. It's a gauge of how desperate you are. Silence is also for men who think lying by omission isn't lying or dishonest. They know a pickme will give them the benefit of the doubt. Silence allows them to bend the narrative to their favor no matter what... "I never said I wouldn't visit." Moving for a man is going too far. It usually leads to moving in together to split bills without getting married. Would your partner move to be closer to you? Would your partner take a job closer to you? In my experience there's always a reason why they can't. The other fake marriage blew up in 2 years because YOU CAN'T CHANGE HIM. Sigh. I've gotten a ringless proposal. But to me no ring = no p…

I have a chronic illness which requires lots of doctor appointments and procedures. No one I've ever dated has offered to be there for me, to drive me, or even asked how it went until after I reminded them it happened at all. This really makes me wonder if he would do the same for her. There are far too many couples where she's there for him, and her mother, sister or friends are there for her. I NEVER see husbands in the waiting room. Plenty of wives though.

I think my female friends who are neurodivergent go out of their way to work on themselves and try to communicate. They might fail but they are working very hard to connect with other people. It's obvious they are making the effort in many different ways. I also think a lot of men would LOVE for you to think they are neurodivergent so that they DON'T have to work on their crappy personality. Does it matter if they are on the spectrum? No. Your vagina is not a non-profit for their benefit.

Why would you care what he has to say at this point? He's already shown you who he is - believe him! You've already admitted he'll out-argue you if you try to communicate. Work on yourself now, not this relationship.

The sooner they bring up the crazy ex the bigger the red flag. No one should be talking about ex's on the first date. Dating is not about your past, it's about your future. If the first thing they want to say is about the "crazy" ex then it's probably not true. They are setting the narrative for future triangulation - "you're acting crazy just like my crazy ex!" Also, more explaining and more detail than necessary is bad. For example I went on a date with a guy who spent the whole dinner talking…

I'll never get divorced or cheat because I wonder what it's like to sleep with other people or because I thought I could do better or was missing out on fun. This hits so close to home for too many people!

That's not attractive at all. Now I don't date short men - this attitude is too pervasive. It's their own attitude problems coming back to bite them in the ass. It's men that don't like short men. Several of my friends lost their high paying jobs after having children. It isn't possible to work long hours with kids if you're a mother. And if he's scoffing about her protecting her financial position what's he going to say when he's asked to change diapers 50/50? Nope. She's seen something (not married, not their money, she's the one losing here) and knows he's not the partner she needs him to be.

Society doesn't just tell us to ignore our instincts, it tells us to ignore actual abuse and warning signs that he WILL kill you. He beat his ex-wife? He's changed. He punches holes in the wall? It's an outlet for stress. He sexually harasses women in his life? Men are like that. The warning signs are there. We need to shame anyone who says otherwise.

Women absolutely should be living together in healthy family units. I see far to many social media posts from women who "can't" leave an abusive man. It's usually the man settling because his family is pushing for marriage. He's usually very non-committal about the whole thing. There's nothing to compel me to have sex even though I enjoy it. I like roller coasters but I don't skip work to go on the roller coaster. Same thing. We don't sabot…

When I look at couples on social media, I ask myself if he's posting the same sort of content about their relationship that she is. And some do. Many men are in love with their wives. But most don't post about their wife/gf at all. I think that's very telling.

Wow. Tell her to delete your info and that you'll be consulting with a lawyer. And then have your lawyer follow up with a cease and desist. It doesn't matter than she's in China and you're not. You may still have options for reporting her "business" (assuming it's legal) and shutting down any website she has. You could also leave reviews informing people it's a scam and that she is using fake profiles.

"Are you really asking if I believe that women should have the same rights as men? The right to be paid equally?" That usually makes this person feel like an A-hole. Because that's feminism. If someone doesn't believe that I have the same rights as men, if they actually have to ask, they are the problem. Honestly, there are a lot of feminist issues to discuss but I fail to see how much any of that can matter when women are out there working harder while being paid less. Money is power, it's fina…

I've dated so many men with newly remodeled kitchens and none of them actually cooked. Home ownership is cool, but if you can only get a hard on by talking about your new granite countertops I'm out! Maybe I've just dated myself. What's the 2022 equivalent of granite countertops?

I know it's against FDS but I've taken lovers. The thing is, most women trick themselves into thinking they can create a relationship out of sex. You can't. You have to be strong enough to know where the lines are, for both you and him. And if you think being single is being "doomed" then you're not there yet. Take the long view - at 23 you're still very young.

That's a great analogy! And some women do exactly this. They spend years working on their education and careers and then throw it all away for an LVM. It makes me sad to think that they happily shelve their self-respect just to pretend they are in a relationship.

The real question is why would a woman stay with a man who is bad at sex? It's a sure sign he doesn't care about her. Sex is literally the most important thing to men so the only reason they would be bad at it is if they don't consider women to be human beings at all.

I've learned that it takes about $10 and a trip to Home Depot to fix most things around the house. He obviously values his work the same as a professional with a license. I don't like doing home repairs much but it's better than the game of "will you fix this" "I'll get around to it" that most men play. Makes me wonder if he really just fixes things or if he's taking credit for something she had to push him to do.

I'm more than a little confused why a guy with a "girlfriend" is lurking on FDS. And then spending the energy to "brag" that he's a shitty boyfriend. I'm also guessing he won't see what he did wrong when she eventually leaves him either, assuming she's real.

We don't have any models for HVM - most women never see them in real life or in media. All I knew in my 20s was that I didn't want a relationship like my parents - that would be NVM hell. So women see these guys and of course basic behavior looks good. We need to talk more about HVM style rather than indulging in scrote war stories so FDSers know what they should be looking for.

And even though we keep shouting it from the rooftops, every week there's an obligatory "why do people ghost?" post. I ghost because I'd like to avoid the rape and death threats that come with declining a second date. Men know rejection isn't harder for them. It's just another manipulation tactic because they have no interest in improving themselves. These are the same men who don't believe in date rape and think men are abused in relationships just as often as women.

An ex of mine used to give me forests of flowers along with heinous confessions about his past. In his mind he was a gentleman that was honest and bought his girlfriend flowers. After the first time I started cringing when I saw flowers because he was using flowers to absolve himself of being an a-hole, and there was a whole lot of a-hole things he was offering up one bouquet at a time. Who the heck believes that? Any study of the Worlds Wars shows that's not true. Women go to work in greater numbers when the world goes to war. Then they are forced out when the men return home. I wish being single was as accepted as being in a relationship. Dating can be pleasurable but not if being in a relationship is viewed as a "lifesaver" to being single. If she stays with him it will just keep happening. Time to leave. I had a boyfriend do this to me once. We were at a bar and he left for the bathroom. Half an hour later a stranger came to tell me bf was smoking behind the bar and if they had known he was with someone they would have invited me sooner. We then went to his parents who treated me like dirt. Screw that guy.

During undergrad I was working on a research project and a grad student took me aside and explained that our professor was dating one of the other grad students. I'm conflicted because the professor was one of the best mentors I ever had. On the other hand, gross - it was like a 20 year age gap. I had trouble grasping how common this is. That does not make it ok. This is a real LVM power move. I'm sorry he's doing this to you. Document EVERYTHING and protect yourself.

You did the right thing. It wouldn't be fair to the other students to respond in any substantive way here. It's a waste of their time and he's not going to change his mind. You can always add "derailing" to their next quiz.

I actually use the safe word as a vetting technique. If they bring up sex I ask what is your safe word? It's always "Banana" or something phallic. That's a sign of immaturity in my opinion.

It's not about dating someone with a different life experience - it's about power imbalance and control. Age gap matters less as you get older and the range is totally up to you. All your relationships, age gap or not, should follow the campfire rule (Leaving a relationship better than when you started.) I had a couple age gap relationships. Now that I'm older (40s) I realize I might just like men in their 30s. Will I be in my 70s dating men in their 30s? Tbh, I'm going to high five future me if…

Yup. I rent, I tell people I rent. LVMs often stop showing interest because they are gold diggers! Also, you can tell a lot about a man's critical thinking skills if he starts criticizing a life decision like renting/owning for someone he barely knows. Men want what they can't have, or what other men have anyways. Every man who has ever told me his girlfriend "cheated" on him meant that she dumped him and started dating someone else. And I though about it - I know very few women who have actually cheated on their man but I know lots of men that actually cheated on their women. This happened to me too. An LVM I know in his early 30s has ED and is spending $6,000 on an alternative treatment with low chances of success. I don't know about you but that's a lot for me to unpack! He's early 30s and has ED. He thinks this isn't a big deal because most of his friends have ED. He said that even if the treatment doesn't work (it won't) there's this pump they can implant - his friends in their 40s all have it! I think about this a lot and try to remember how much history informs older women's view of the world. When I was born, it was still legal for a man to beat his wife in some US states. This only holds true if there are other women in his orbit that are "less respectable" than you. If the others turn him down he will eventually start hitting on you - probably in a jokey, "hehe, wouldn't it be funny if we got together" kinda way. In my experience that's when they make you try to do all the work (ask him out, plan the dates...) because you're the "respectable" one. It saves him the horror of rejection by manipulating you.
