I went through what you’re experiencing, the begging/pleading. after someone else was fucking my wife. In our house, slept in my bed. Been around my kids. All of it. And I got what I wanted! I moved way too fucking fast at the advice of my life coach at the time. (context, the theme was fitness makes the best husband/father) In the span of 3 weeks, My 5 kids, that’s right 5, thought I was moved back in the home, we(X and I) planned a trip to Disney for everyone, bought new bed, sheets the whole …

We have a regular custody schedule that we stick to pretty well. This was trading a day.

Care is consistent; we have custody handled. Trade a day for dental surgery declined for no reason

Well put. I’m one year out and there have been some flexibility on things. It was the irony of trade me or your the bad person after there was no reason not to trade given my the circumstance at the time.

Agree with chocolate starfish, don’t bother. It’s no fault state and this is only ego driven to shame her. Don’t waste your time and energy anymore. If you know what you need to know then just get the process started

I was leaning to take the deal and just needed some perspective, thanks everyone for your valid points! Daycare is only on her time but I should probably utilize it since I’m gonna be paying for it. And those costs are a means to an end. I’ll save myself the trial money and only be locked in at 193 until she files to go back. I personally think in a straight 50/50 scenario like we have child support should not be included. But I should consider myself lucky after having read through some of this…

Yeah absolutely do not do this. If you want to appear weak and needy by all means go ahead. If you want to hold your pride in tact, you give them the divorce, and you be the absolute best father you can be. And if someone new comes into your life, you’ve learned all your lessons on what to do and not to do.

Watch interview on marriage with James Saxton I believe his name is. One of the most powerful interviews on marriage. And you don’t need a sheet of paper to solidify commitment. Prenup at the very least. Have the conversation early. “Whatever you had before you keep, whatever I had before I keep, whatever we build together we split in the end if it doesn’t work out” Marriage is awesome until it isn’t. If it’s downhill, it takes A LOT of work to recover. If you don’t recover, it’s a fucking mess …

Exit plan ASAP. Lawyer consult with all assets, debt, retirement, savings, etc. Gather it all and get to the office now! No more waiting, 6 years is long enough. Custody- joint physical joint legal Marital home- serious evaluation of who can afford to stay and who can afford to go. I lost my home thinking it was right to leave, but reality she couldn’t afford to keep it. If she can’t keep it she’s gotta go. If she can keep it, you gotta go. Gym- if you don’t already, it’s time. Diet- same. If yo…

“Friends and amicable” means give me the divorce my way or I’ll hate you for it. MOST of us have been there. You ain’t friends right now, you’re business partners dividing up a failing business. Treat it as such. DONT TAKE LOSSES ON PURPOSE! Lawyer ASAP. Don’t worry about custody, you have demonstrated that you are a capable caregiver and were their PRIMARY caregiver while mom worked. You file for PRIMARY. Do not only “take what you need” in spousal support. You take what you’re entitled to! You…

Taking care of your body translates to a healthy kind. Therapy is one of the best tools. You’ll be able to reframe these things into something that pushes you forward and out of the darkness!

Got to therapy, get an exercise routine and meet new people. Not just to date but get some new friends too. You’ll find that you can do this! Life will always get better if you change your mindset that these things happened for you not to you. Best of luck!

Therapy and know that they will not change for the better, only stay the same or get worse. You got this! Someone out there waiting for you and you don’t even know it!

If she can assume the loan of the house on her own and get a HELOC that saves her from refinance. That’s my current situation. But over 3 years. No way! You need that equity to start over with your kids in a new home. Do not stall this process. With high rates, market prices are expected to come down before rates do. Get your appraisal ASAP. She gets approved for the assumption of the mortgage loan and must apply IMMEDIATELY for the HELOC. If she gets denied the HELOC she MUST sell the home. Cut…
