As much as I believe that men are severely disadvantaged in the job market compared to women, this topic makes a serious statistical claim, and so sources or proof of a sound research would heavily increase the value of this topic. Otherwise, it could be an ass-pull. This is a copied post from another post 2 years back. If that was indeed your old account, you should have mentioned it at the beginning. Either way, proof is paramount here.

This happens a lot actually. Look at "The Grievance Studies Affair" here on youtube.

Back when I was a kid, I used to actually believe Wikipedia was a bastion of truth - uncensored and unbiased. If I needed the final evidence to end arguments and prove the truth of any matter, Wikipedia was what I would go to for fact checking. Of course, that belief died with my slow discovery of heavy censors and biases, and downright evil attacks against truth as I researched more about it. The 180 degree turn of the contents of the (male) circumcision page was one such thing, which literally…

Ephebophilia: Usually from 15 up to adulthood or even 19. Hebephilia: 11 to 14 (inclusive). Pedophilia: Below 11, or more precisely, prepubescent. Note that any given person may be interested in more than one group, including adults, but these terms usually mean that a given person has a primary/dominant or exclusive interest in the given age groups. Communicating tone over the internet is very difficult sometimes. Your comment probably came off as snarky, rather than an actual question to clarify things.

I understand that you're emotionally grieving, you're depressed and are in despair, but please don't advocate suicide in any case. I even agree with some of your points, and even admit that if men went missing, maybe their value would be understood to a greater degree, but this is just a fantasy, and cannot be the actual answers to men's issues. Moreover, even if the world were to improve, you would not be there to enjoy it, so what's the use?

Lol, I imagine the moment their logic was applied to the reverse scenario, they had a shocked pikachu face, and then resorted to changing the subject or using ad hominem.

Imagine shaming any woman, saying they are worthless, deserve contempt and hatred only because no man wants to have sex with them. Outrageous and basically misogynistic, right? Incel is used just like this, but apparently it's absolutely fine and legitimate because the sexes are reversed. So you're telling me a man's worth is primarily based on whether women will have sex with him or not? It sounds like anyone using it as an insult is obsessed with sex and are missing out on the millions of othe…

Use language, not just body language. Be vocal about it, appear serious and stand your ground. Try saying it nicely at first and sugarcoat it, and if that doesn't work, make your statements increasingly "rude". You have no obligation to keep brushing it off just to prevent making them uncomfortable.

You misunderstood. The other person isn't correcting your sentence. They're just adding to your sentence to say that OP definitely WILL get blamed.

Surely, it must have meant anytime before or during, and not after the act, as stated. This is why laws should be stated clearly and unambiguously, covering as many holes as they can with as little room for misinterpretation as possible.

As long as you're not proud of being part of some evil group, no one should be able to condemn someone's pride for belonging to any group, especially one that you didn't get to choose (sex, race, country, etc.). However, I also find it stupid for someone to be proud of belonging to a group simply because they were born into that group or didn't get to choose, and only digging for other reasons later out of defensiveness.

From one perspective, I agree that it seems pointless to fight with idiotic groups and institutions and waste your time and energy. However, not only will positive change never be possible without keeping on pushing, but also, if you choose not to fight and instead accept things, they will not just stay the way they are, but rather keep getting worse as others who are selfish and not as demotivated to not fight will keep expanding their rights at the expense of yours and encroach upon your freed…

Aren't recordings made without awareness of all parties not admissible in court, even if it exposes a crime? It's just bullshit, and I don't know why it isn't allowed in such cases.

I guess people like you and I would probably do a better job in terms of being more neutral and promoting free speech, but most of us just don't have the time to moderate subs due to real life obligations. Also, as long as it's under the banner of Reddit, it isn't safe anyway, like you said. In many cases such as the one you mentioned, I'm also pretty polarized (not all cases), but I would fight for the right of my opposition to speak up any day, because freedom of speech is sacred to me.

Without even talking about how certain things such as sex, race, physical attributes you are born with should not be joked about as you didn't choose them, I still cannot understand how "kill all men" is funny. "Kill all women" isn't funny to me either, not only because it is wrong to disguise hate speech as jokes, but because I truly don't see the humor in it. It's just a bad joke even if it weren't offensive.

And here I thought trueoffmychest would be way more reasonable than offmychest... Is there going to be no safe space left for men to even say anything innocuous such as suggesting that "men should not be treated as subhuman", without it being labeled as hate and promptly silenced?

I do agree with both of the statements from the women's and men's side. However, it is biologically ingrained in everyone to have certain standards and go after good looks in both sexes to various degrees, which in moderation or reasonable levels is not that bad a thing. For many, the standards may be as low as not being very overweight and performing minimum maintenance on yourself.

I hate this thing which is done by a whole lot of men. They let a lot of shit slide from women and lower their standards for women just to have a woman in their lives. This is one of the biggest reasons of the power gap between genders arising today - because many men settle for any woman, while women get all the choice.

Human race would go extinct, if that matters to them, lol. Edit: offmychest just autobanned me for this comment. I only stated a fact.

Not to mention the whole comparison of human with insects is laughable. Even if we forget the fact that we are much more complex in terms of thoughts, emotions, etc. than any other living being on this planet, if you still wanted to make a comparison, wouldn't it be better to pick something closer, like mammals for instance? Unfortunately, even the vast majority of mammals are male dominated, so that would suck to use as an advocate for feminism. The good thing is, we recognize that we need to m…

Lol, you're literally handing out ammo. Only one (at max 2-3) female ant with the capability to reproduce becomes the queen, and is basically worshipped. All - yes that's right - all of the workers, builders, maintainers, caregivers, food foragers, and yes, soldiers are female ants. The male ants' only function is to mate with the queen, and that's it. Sound to me like you're supporting the patriarchy once again, lol.

Just imagine if he was a single dad. The child would have been taken and he would not be able to do anything. The whole thing makes me so angry, but I'm more shocked by the behavior of the bystanders and the police than the kidnapper woman.

If you're being sarcastic, it's a good idea to use /s or something similar to let others know, no matter how obvious it seems to you.

I'm sure there's nobody here who didn't already know that. That's not the point. The point is, women's capabilities for causing physical (and mental) damage through violence to anyone is easier to realize when you see that redirected toward children. Without this comparison, it is treated like a laughing matter.

I never understood why virgin was supposed to be an insult. Why is sex such a big deal? Also, small penis and incel? Really? That's not just ridiculous, but sounds like a child level low effort insult.

Great post! I wholeheartedly agree with your stance, and the ideas proposed are very nice. In debating on the Internet, we should always keep in mind the that for everyone talking, there are hundreds listening. Those silent lurkers are our real target, not the person we're arguing against. We should always remain civil and on-topic, because it makes our opponents look bad by contrast. Instead, restrain your emotions and put forward the best argument you can, secure in the knowledge that this is …

I personally think it's a little much to make a big deal of a single worthless comment as well, but when women do the same or even worse, that's always okay. Sometimes, I think men shouldn't fuss about the smaller things, so that the larger issues are taken more seriously, but then I remember the examples set by feminists. They fuss about everything, and it works, because fussing about everything slowly piles up the apparent amount of issues, and they get addressed in the end because of that. Al…

I like your tone. You definitely seem like one of the better feminists, if that's what you want to call yourself. Do I prefer feminists to be really more like their initial dictionary definition - the one that you claim is the true definition? Of course I do. Unfortunately, labels, or movements in this case, are defined in two ways - one by their dictionary definition, and another by what most people bearing that label is actually doing in the movement's name, sadly especially the loudest ones. …

Workplace safety is a correctable, or at least largely improvable issue. Nobody is saying that it is wrong for someone to offer any work to men with a reasonable degree of safety compromises. People are usually only demanding improvements in safety measures to avoid unnecessary risks at little, often one-time costs for businesses. What is a small cost in the short run even ends up saving them money in the long run in terms of money saved from not having to rehire, retrain, pay for damages, etc. …

I almost thought it might be a good idea to look at what you have to say in your previous arguments, but it all went down the drain when you threw harsh unnecessary insults when you could have explained why you disagree in a civil manner. Attack the argument, not the person.

I wonder what happens in the heads of such women, or any such people? "I prefer, nay demand that baby boys have their penises circumcised, because I like that look better." Reverse it, and suddenly, you're the worst.

I don't know about the statistics on grown men, but for children, it's way more than one. https://www.circinfo.org/USA_deaths.html I quote: The study, by researcher Dan Bollinger, concluded that approximately 117 neonatal deaths due directly or indirectly to circumcision occur annually in the United States, or one out of every 77 male neonatal deaths. This compares with 44 neonatal deaths from suffocation, 8 in automobile accidents and 115 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome...

Why do such people believe two wrongs make a right? If you think women were treated badly in the past, then be the shining example and try your best to prevent bad treatment to everyone, rather than reversing it.

I realize this may be made up, but it's not like similar things (to a lower degree) don't happen. In such cases, rather than both sides being angry at the other for such behavior, I believe both sides should be naturally accepting of the truth that it's very natural for anyone to feel attracted to someone else, even when you are committed. Of course, you're better off keeping details such as how you'd like to fuck someone else to yourself, but saying you find somebody cute, handsome, hot, beauti…
