Almost sounds like your boss is treating her how a father might treat his daughter. He listens to her (made up) stories and plays along. He keeps her happy in her meaningless little world, and nobody is actually punished. My question would be if your boss is handling the situation correctly. I take medication to keep myself awake during the day. If I feel I can't handle the drive, (especially long distances) I pull over to sleep. Agreed. I have narcolepsy. I typically wake up at 4:30 am 5-6 days per week (I work in construction) I take medication to keep me awake during the day, but fall right asleep as soon as I get home from my 45min-1hr 30min drive (depending on job site). Weekends I usually sleep 10-12 hours. I sometimes pull over to take naps on the way home. I don't really have time in the morning to meditate, relax, or whatever else.
