Thank you for sending that over. I'll check that out!

I wish I had advice that could help you in your journey but I'm still very much figuring it out myself. The only thing I can say is, don't break. You will want to. You will want to lash out and become the person everyone is making you out to be (or your ex or current partner) but you must keep your head on straight. Do not drink, if you live in a state where weed is legal, opt for that instead. Try to be healthy, mentally and physically, if you can. Whatever you can do in your situation that con…

Thank you man! I appreciate the good luck wishes. We all know I'm gonna need it. 😀

I agree with you, but after you free yourself of the narcissist, you run away and never look back! She will always be who she is and she will make the next man suffer just as much, and there's nothing I can do about that. However, the goal is to free myself AND to show the obvious "injustice" that men experience on a daily basis. Not a fan of the world injustice these days but in our case it's real.

Though custody of my son is more important, I have dreamed of that. The satisfaction of suing them into oblivion! Maybe that's a fantasy but one day when I can afford it, I'm going to attempt it. Thank you!

I haven't been able to afford one. At the time she pulled this, we had about 30,000. She took about 20,000, left me wirh about 10,000. I had to replace almost everything I owned, including a car that was on the way out (I drove a 96 jeep charokee while we paid her car off) and of course, after many many years, it went down. She was a stay at home by the way so, fitting she took almost everything. Her father paid for her lawyer. I applied for every legal aid grant I could and was denied everytime…

The statements were admitted and I asked the judge at the end to charge them with perjury over the phone records (he refused to look at the police body cams as he would have had to at that point). He mutters something like, well, I don't think they denied the phone records and then moved on completely. I went out of my way to cover it from every angle. "YOU called on July 27th" "You called multiple times" "You heard the phone ring" You called, hung up and called back". There should be multiple c…

I'm going to call them the next opportunity I get and see what happens. I appreciate the push in that direction.

I really appreciate your take because it's spot on. If this had been criminal, it gets laughed out of court, the outcome is likely fair and the police and DA's office can officially get involved because perjury in a criminal case is a big deal. Because it was civil court, all she had to do was convince the judge that it was possible that abuse happened. A man walking into the court room enough to meet that threshold, couple that with her having a lawyer and me representing myself pro se and I ha…

I've considered that but I have no idea where to even start. I imagine myself trying to explain the judge allowed my ex-wife and her Dad to blatantly commit perjury and whoever I'm talking to just rolling their eyes.

Thank you for the response. I think my ex-wife had called almost every lawyer in town because everyone I call says there's a "conflict of interest". I know you're right though, the ultimate goal is to get perjury charges brought up so I can take her back to family court and end up with a ruling that's more fair to my son and I.

In theory I would like to agree with you but it can be complicated for men. One one hand, even if the numbers are declining, there are still a significant amount of women who expect their man to commit to them in the way of marriage. To the original question, is there a benefit to doing this? Nothing significantly positive other than making the woman feel like you are committed and making her feel secure, which, if you are with a stable, awesome girl, maybe that's worth it. Speaking from experie…

Usually, yes. With my ex-wife, no. She used to say that me not getting married to her was me saying that I wasn't in the relationship for the long haul. She claimed that it made her have anxiety over the relationship and that getting married was the only way she could "feel secure", especially since we had a kid together.

Rational reasons to get married; 1 - shows commitment. Can help women feel more secure which may lead to a better relationship. 2 - tax breaks and savings on auto insurance, I think? Rational reasons to not get married; 1 - you are one false claim away from losing everything. My ex-wife Amber Hearded me. I even had the evidence to PROVE IT and it didn't matter. In civil settings like a divorce, unless you have a lawyer and she doesn't, you will almost certainly lose. This is what happened to me.…

I'm sorry to hear that you grew up in such an environment. I think the one thing you really start to understand when you become an adult is how powerless children are when it comes to those and the actions of those around them. I didn't grow up in an abusive household but my Mom was emotionally unavailable and my father was a methhead. The circumstances devastated my brother and sister. I lucked out to a small degree because it made me resistant to that stuff. I make sure that my son knows how m…

Sad but true. The truth is irrelevant in family court. If the courts cared about the truth, I would have full custody or at minimum shared custody and she would have multiple counts of perjury. They act as if their guidelines are based around what's best for children, yet continously put children in the hands of dangerous people. Makes no sense.

Thank you! I appreciate that. I will never again be alone with this woman ever again. The judge criticized me for recording so many of our interactions and I think my brain melted when he did. Apparently it's a bad thing when men record interactions with the intention of keeping themselves safe from false claims or abuse. We live in a crazy world!

Hey there. Thank you for the response. I'm sorry to hear that your time is limited with your kids but I'm happy to hear that you are making the best out of it. Surely, you are a good man and father and I respect that. Unfortunately, I disagree. My son is my everything, and I'm fortunate enough that my effort with him as made me the same to him. For myself, my son and everyone who has been a victim of false claims, as blatant as my situation was, I would be ashamed of myself if I took the easy ro…

I respect your comment and agree with it 100%. However, I think part of the reason why men are so ruthlessly attacked in family court is that there's absolutely no recourse against those involved. I might just be one dude, some dude in some small city in Oregon no one knows or cares about, but I had the evidence to prove my ex lied. I owe it to myself, my son and everyone who's been a victim of false claims to shout my story from the mountain top. Maybe this does absolutely nothing for my son an…
