I couldn't get in a relationship when I was a mess mentally. I got laid though, but nothing more than that. I'd recommend therapy to have someone to help you sort stuff out. Nobody gets discarded because they're nice, to be honest, so there is something else at play here - maybe just your sense of self worth, even.
