No a lot of men are anti abortion. Not everyone want to deal with a kid, plenty of men are happy with this being an option if contraception didn’t work. Me and my wife are childfree and we both want her to get an abortion if anything happens. Also unplanned pregnancy usually can lead to a real’y bad childhood for the kid since parents were not ready financially and mentally most of the time. It’s not about feminism necessarily, most of society can benefit from abortion being legal. Less financia…

And for most of you right wing people it only applies until the moment they are born, if the parents are poor they can go f*** themselves and have shitty chance at life once they are born.

Actually yes, it’s kinda based, a child shouldn’t have to suffer and have lesser opportunities in life because of their parents shitty financial decision. Add more services and government funded programs to help poorer families. I say that as a childfree person and I’ll happily pay more tax so that the future generations have a better chance at life.

Is the doctor the one making the decision if it’s a life or death situation and is there a risk for them to being prosecuted for murder if they made the decision to abort while it was still ambiguous if there was a real danger ? If they can get prosecuted, in practice you end up with doctors that will be afraid of making the right medical choice in fear of legal repercussions. If it’s truly about the baby, I hope you support lot of government support for that baby if they need to grow up in a po…

What is so hard to understand that the vast majority of people who are against ICE right now are not against deporting illegal but more against methods used by ICE ? Non identifiable masked agents targetting people because of their skin color and doing warrantless raids ? ICE is consistently breaking the law and every time it happens there is no real investigation and no accountability. They detain a lot of citizens constantly. For a while they were also waiting outside court room to catch immig…

While that sub is full of really trashy men hating people, I still think most women are right to avoid people claiming to be non political in the current climate. It’s usually used to hide that you voted for Trump or you have some leaning toward the current right wing movement. Even if it was the case that they are truly apolitical, with the current climate unless you are hyper indoctrinated by religion to not care about your right as a women, it should still be alarming and a red flag for most …

Be the change you want to see, culture changes happens when enough individuals try to change things. When I hear or see stuff like that I will be vocal about how they are contributing to current young men issues and perpetuating harmful social expectations.

I’m curious, are you applying the same standard for yourself ? Are you keeping yourself virgin for "the one" until marriage ? And yes I think people should be ashamed of thinking marrying what is essentially a bang maid to be representative of what they view as a desirable relationship. I couldn’t fathom wanting to live my life with someone that doesn’t have at least similar level of ambitions and capacity for thinking as me. What’s the problem with hookup culture if you are not participating in…

I don’t necessarily it’s because of the women that we have that standard of "crying is weak" for men. We enforce this standard between men even as child, making fun of boy crying if they got hurt or something like that. Some parents also teach boy to not cry and dismiss their feelings. Society as a whole see men acting emotionally (again except anger) as weak and a weak men is not a successful men in most people subconscious. I think this where the "ick" comes from, even from sometime progressiv…

Thank you for linking it to me and I appreciate the good faith response, which is not always the case on this sub. I don’t necessarily think women as a whole "want" to date up but I would agree that in practice women are more likely to do it and have "higher standards" compared to men, especially on dating apps where women have it way easier. The dehumanizing aspect of those apps also amplifies this kind of dynamic by a lot and create an environment where women can do it. What I’m going to say i…

Not only there’s multiple possible explanations (and it’s probably lot of different factors combined that explains this since the discrepancy is that high) But those numbers doesn’t say what you are implying at all unless that you think that most women are also fine with polygamy from their male partner (which is not the case at all and if you think it’s the case go touch grass).a Look I’m not denying dating isn’t harder for man but some possible explanations that could explains a part of those …

Hookup culture doesn’t really matter, young people should be able to experiment and experience freedom during their younger years before they settle. And talking about marrying virgins sounds a bit creepy ngl. Who cares if someone is virgin or not. Do you want to find out after marrying a girl that you are incompatible sexually and live their rest of your life with a dead bedroom (considering you don’t divorce or cheat). Also despite hookup culture being a thing, there’s a huge amount of people …

Careful, you are describing a huge part of what feminists essentially call "toxic masculinity", concept that many people on this sub don’t believe exists. I agree with you, and I think it’s one of the things feminism is right about men that needs to change. (Even if their messaging and their ways of handling this problem is horrible, the problem itself is a thing). Honestly I think MRAs should reclaim those concepts and push to solve these issues about men in society instead of denying them and …

I was more talking about the hypergamy thing and all the other redpill non sense OP was commenting in this thread. Divorce rates being that high in countries where it’s seen as normal to marry kinda quick doesn’t seem that abnormal to me. Also OP doesn’t need to think about marriage yet if he doesn’t even have a girlfriend and there’s still ways to protect his assets acquired before marriage.

It would be the exact same situation if it was 2 guy friends and one is experienced and organized the thing and they other guy was not prepared correctly. Then if the experienced guy called emergencies but put his phone on silent for 7 hours until the inexperienced guy die. It would be criminal negligence in this case too. It’s not about genders

Come on this is bad faith, if you do something for the first time that can be risky and someone with a lot more experience is the one planning everything, it is fair and reasonable to expect the person with more experience to tell you if you are not prepared carefully and for them to handle riskier situations.

Nah the power imbalance is bad even if gender are reversed in my opinion. I’ve seen stories of sexual harassment from women in positions of power and the guy had even less options since nobody would take them seriously, they are just generally not talked about as much. This is kinda funny that you get downvoted because it’s true. But to be fair dating culture in the US is fucked and makes it really hard to find a good partner. I just don’t think that it’s the women themselves that are bad, it’s the culture around dating on apps that makes it hard to find a good person. For me it depends, you are right if the relationship is modern one. But in the case of a traditional relationship where the women is expected take care of the children and be a good stay at home wife, she basically sacrifice years of career growth to be in that role. Starting on the job market at 40 is not the same as doing it at 20. Yeah the amount of comments that tell OP to just flee the country is really insane. Why is that a problem ? If there was a big culture of men being SAs by women in the train to the point where an overwhelming majority of men experienced it at least once in their life I would agree with you. But it’s not the case, this problem doesn’t exist. When implementing policies like that it’s for solving a specific issue, it has nothing to do with equality or something like that, it’s a safety issue for a group of people that was targeted in that specific issue. Sadly chikan and stuff like that is way more common than that in Japan, a majority of adult women experienced being groped (and a huge percentage specifically sex organ, like this can’t be an accident). Just look it up.

Sexual harassment is something really more vague than actual groping, I’m not surprised to see this stat, I’ve seen it myself in less extreme form a lot and it looked super normalized (even in work environments). Also the number I saw with my quick google search was 81%. A quick google search will show you that 75% of women in Japan experienced groping on the train. I’m a gender abolitionist (we should treat everyone the same, gender doesn’t matter). I support them, if they feel like they are in the wrong body I don’t see how we should prevent them to change it, for me it’s not that different than any other medical procedure (like surgeries) to change your body. Some issues should still be treated on a biological sex basis, like pregnancy and stuff like that. Also sex categorization can be useful in places where it has an impact, for example sport, I see it…

It’s a bit more nuanced than that, some terfs are not against the trans themselves, they just want to protect some of the space they fought for to not include non biological female (for example women sports) or don’t want that we change some words related to women just because trans exist (for example the "birthing person" drama). 1 year of jail for calling the cop like that ? I think it’s a bit too much, if it leads to someone getting shot or something, yeah sure, or even worse. Or like in s case of perjury or something like that I’m good with 10+ years. Making a false report to the police is not a crime in the US ? Also she admitted to faking it just to scare him, I’m pretty sure she could get charged with something for calling the cops for no reason like that. I’m not in the US so I might be wrong

The evidence here is you being a witness as a victim of the crime. I think when you report those kind of things you have to sign an affidavit (i might be wrong) and those are illegal to falsify, put (knowingly) false information. From that it is the police job to investigate from the info you gave. If it worked like you said there would be basically no investigation for crimes where the victim is dead

I mean, I agree with you on that, like I said we probably need new law to cover most case of false allegations instead of only having perjury, a lot of false accuser don’t go as far as lying under oath but at that point a lot of damaged is done to the accused reputation. As for people not being punished if they lied under oath and later admitting that the accusations is false, idk how often it happens but if it happens a lot I agree with you that is a problem that should change. The thing is that a lot of people here seems to think that not guilty of rape == false allegation. If you set the standard for putting someone in jail for false allegation as high as the one for rape (the criminal one, beyond a reasonable doubt) it should be enough to not prevent victim from coming forward about their rape. The reality is that in most case, there will still be no false allegation accusations even after a non guilty verdict for the rape accusations. Most people can’t even meet th…

The thing is that rape is in criminal court, so no, the result of the case doesn’t prove if the accusations or rape were false or not, it only prove that there was enough evidence that the accuser is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. (Let’s say for the case of this discussion that the jury/judge need to be 90% that it happened to have a guilty verdict, I just know it’s a really high probability). So there’s a lot of case that can fall between the 50% and 90% that the jury could think the accused…

That’s a bit weird, is there other criminal charge that works like that ? The victim in a rape case are not the one pursuing the rapist, they are only the one who reported the crime and then State prosecutors are the one going to court if they think they might have enough evidence to convict. You are saying that the victim of a crime should do the police and prosecutor job before reporting their crime ? Yeah I don’t think it’s a great idea. I might be mistaken but for being guilty of rape the judge/jury need to certain beyond a reasonable doubt that you did it to be convicted right ? Like if they think there’s 80% chance that you did it, the 20% is enough doubt for you to be innocent ? The standard for criminal charge of rape should be really high and that should not change, but it really doesn’t mean that he didn’t do anything. I think we agree on most thing then, you basically want the current system, with harsher punishment for lying in court (if proven to be a liar) and with the anonymization of both the accuser and accused. I forgot that in some places the language of the court make it more difficult for a women than a man to be accused of rape, where I live it's not really the case so I include that in the "current system" for me. The only thing I might have a problem is the fact that even if the court thing is …

I will still ask the same question, what do you propose instead ? How would you make a justice system that would punish people who make false allegation without punishing people who got raped for real but just didn’t have enough proof to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt ? What system do you propose then ? The standard to have found someone guilty of rape is really high and it’s really hard to prove a rape because most of the time there is no witness. If we start punishing someone because the trial found the person not guilty, nobody will ever report rape because they will fear being punished because it’s hard to prove when it happens. I’m open for ideas but right now I think it’s the lesser evil to have the current system. It’s hard to prove a rape, but it’s also…

That would create an horrible precedent. The standard in criminal court to be found guilty is extremely high and being found not guilty doesn’t prove that you didn’t do it, it just prove that there is still doubt. Even if the jury was 75% sure he did it, there is stil’ enough doubt that he will be found not guilty. That’s why he should sue for damage after if he can prove they were lying.

I don’t understand why people downvote you, you are just telling the truth, I wish there was a way to easily punish false accusers but being found not guilty in a criminal case is clearly not a proof that they were false allegations. Rape are kinda hard to prove in a lot of circumstances, so as soon as there is enough doubt the jury can’t say the person is guilty.

Do you even read the whole message ? I said as long as they are on the list I don’t care about the rest lmao.

I’ll be honest, I’m lib left so I find the cost being a really shit argument to deny someone freedom, doesn’t matter what they did earlier in their life, if their sentence is done, it’s done, no need for additional punishment, as long as they appear somewhere on the list I don’t care about it and discussing this issue in court probably cost way more than just giving them the right to do so.

I think the number of trans is too low to do that, but even if it did, it is stupid to deny someone rights just to keep a stat more "pure". Also there is an easy solution to that: add a field for biological sex to the database. For me as long as they are still registered in a way in the database and their old identity is linked to the new one in a certain way (via alias for example) I don’t see the problem with it.

I think there is maybe some good argument to not allow that name change but wtf is that skewing the stat argument ? No offense but it has nothing to do with the issue.

There’s some argument to prevent them a name change maybe but your argument is just shit tbh. Also even if someone made a crime once they did their time they should have the same right as everyone else in society unless there is a really good reason for it. (Ex. A pedophile shouldn’t be allowed to approach children, could potentially put them in danger) Even if it cost a few more dollars to change their name who cares ? It’s rare that people change their name and even more with these specific co…
