I've been in a pro band for 10+ years and can play awesome but have never been hit on once. It all goes to the singer and drummer. Playing guitar does shit and so does playing in band, unless you're famous.

Yeah I think you're right!!!! I would never have been able to see that myself. I'm more of a psychonaut/drug artist, I'm not well versed in these types of things That's what I meant in my original post by what am I dealing with here? So it's A frat boy. Makes me feel better (and worse) already. He does like the 90' s. So what would be the antidote? The opposite of a frat boy?

Shaved head, golf shirt, cargo pants or jeans.

(unless his drums are set up in front for every gig) Which they are pretty much. He likes to move up close. And if he can't it's because he's on a riser. They look like they have some good suggestions that may be more relevant than TRP can offer in this case. I think you're right. I'll research that some more.

Either he's much, much better looking than you or he's more fun to watch on stage. It's both. As far as eye contact goes I wouldn't be hitting on them from the stage just making a connection. I mean if they're looking at you should at least acknowledge it.

A drummer who has his swerve on puts on a great show. And this guy sings too? Shit... You get it. Any ideas for showmanship? I know it sounds like an obvious question but some things are tacky like swinging the guitar around your back, or playing behind your back or with your teeth. I've been thinking high and low on this and coming up blank. I watch other famous guitarists and a lot of them are pretty basic in their showmanship. Maybe I'm over thinking it. Trying to think of easy to execute but…

Why is that a bad idea? Edit: Socializing ends up being "you put on a great show, you're a great guitarist, but what's his name? Is he married? etc.

So-so. I'm social but not super social. My last ditch effort will be to make and keep eye contact while playing. The only problem is sometimes the stage lights don't allow you to see anything. But I think in that case you could pretend to be looking at someone, much like someone talking into a video camera. What do you think about that?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
