Do you know what "power fantasy" means? Let me give you a hint, it's not employed by people who feel powerful (ie "alphas"), it's employed by people who are insecure about their strength (ie people who call themselves "alpha" on the internet).

I hope when you go to prison for beating/raping women, you'll learn why that's not okay.

It just depends what kind of relationship you are in. If you are "spinning plates", don't try to use them for emotional support. That's fucking stupid. I allow my self to be emotional in relationships, but it's up to you, if she's a flaky bitch it will probably turn her off.

Wow. This is the most self congratulatory circle jerk I have ever seen in my time as a redditor. This is why we have such a bad reputation.

First, did you notice that I didn't come here looking for advice about how to be alpha? I don't need it. So stop. Second, did you notice that /u/HumanSockPuppet said the mods are pretty merciless about insta-banning anything that sounds like concern trolling, and with good reason. This wasn't an idle threat. The mods are very serious about keeping TRP from going the way of /r/seduction, and I knew that. I knew that if I wanted to have this conversation without sounding like a feminist troll I'd …

I've seen that post before, but I didn't read it all the way through until just now. I should have read it earlier. That and The Rational Male were both really good reads.

Kind of. More accurately, I am indifferent as to if AWALT, but I think that drawing a rule out of this example promotes prejudice and anger in men with sub-par social skills or poor emotional control. In RP terms, I worry that too many men are caught in stages 1-4, rather than simply discarding their silly idealized expectations. I don't understand why so many men have to become so bitter to develop realistic expectations of women.

What do you mean by tone policing? And why is it frowned upon?

Ha! This is so true. I remember when I was about 17 and my dad accused me of being high, that was almost my exact response. Feigned outrage.

I like games, drugs, and sex. Things are looking up.

The idea that men are less sexually versatile has been scientifically observed, not scientifically proven. Sexual preferences are fluid in both sexes, because human psychology is so goddamned fluid. I've known legitimately bisexual dudes who are also alpha, seductive motherfuckers. It's just that men are more prone to seeing homosexual behavior as a threat to their masculinity.

I'm not so sure of this. I grew up with an "alpha" dad, but he belittled me to the point where I had excessive self esteem issues until about age 14. Calling a child a "baby", "pussy" etc, convinces him he is beta, it rarely pushes him to become a man. Most of my growth as a man came from rebelling against hi,, not emulating him

It's disgusting to me the way TBP is trivializing it. "If your SO accuses you off gaslighting her, you probably did it accidentally you misogynistic pig". Saw essentially this about 10 times over there.

I just spent 20 minutes trying to explain this to them in the most direct, sympathetic way possible. They're not listening.

I don't know about you, but some of my strongest moments involved a police officer's fist in my ass.

Smile. Be genuine. Develop a compulsion to go outside of your comfort zone. Be outcome independent. Be proud of who you are and what you have to offer.

You know, it often goes both ways. There are women who are neglected sexually and abused emotionally by arrogant or lazy husbands. I see it just as often as OP's story.

That's why you have to practice control of your emotions and learn to overcome rejection. No one on seddit likes to be rejected, and many of us have experience with depression, but we understand that you have to get used to rejection to succeed. Once I stopped worrying about which girls like me and tried to take control of my emotional state, my life drastically changed.

Why? Who cares? This attitude will lead to a mediocre life more than anything. YOU HAVE TO FAIL A LOT TO BE ABLE TO SUCCEED. As soon as you understand this fundamental fact of life you will be far better off. "I have not failed. I've just found 1000 ways that wont work." -Edison "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" -Wayne Gretzky "Failure is really a matter of conceit. People don't work hard because, in their conceit, they imagine they'll succeed without ever making an effort. Most people…

Putting a pen across your mouth will help a lot with clear enunciation, but not much else.
