Although I mentioned representation so the OP would understand that I can empathise with some of her points r.e. female's needing to act more manly than feminine. However, I will answer your question. Representation is a big HR issue because it has been proven through several blind tests that on average, a CV with a male name will be given a job much, much more often compared to a female CV, even when the CVs are identical (as in, created for the study). Because of this unconcious or concious bi…

Two points: 1) I believe there are ways to promote female rights without having to become a man to do so. I believe you can lead from the top without resorting to screaming or being a shark. Even now the part of the "Western world" I come from has nowhere near equal representation in management - or even at the ground level! Despite that, I don't wear shoulder pads or speak as one of the guys. I am calm, happy and considerate. Several people have pointed out that I am a "breath of fresh air" and…

big crybaby/attention whore Honestly, I really doubt this man is bringing to the table the things you need to trust him in submission, and you certainly have no respect for him. How long have you been together?

I keep a diary. I don't use it all the time, but when I'm feeling lonely/stressed/angry and I want to consciously create a feather bed for R, I will write about my feelings, (what happened, why I feel this way, what I can do about it, etc), and then go do something distracting (usually watching trash tv (Keeping up with the Kardashians is an awesome manual in everything not-to-do in a relationship) or playing a game). If I remember I'm upset after the episode/quest then I let him know, but by th…

I was going to say - I like knowing when it's a male post instead of a female, because as we all know sometimes that advice is distorted by the different ways genders perceive things. But you covered that by suggesting they actually get the flair :D

Stop apologising profusely. Before you speak, pause, and think about what you're going to say. If you need to apologise, say you had to dash away to check on something mid conversation, instead come back and reframe it positively. So instead of "I'm so sorry, I must have forgotten to put the handbreak on, and when you were talking - sorry - I saw my car rolling down the hill. Sorry." Say: "Thank you for being so understanding and letting me chase after my car." This is much more ladylike, makes …

I wish we could. I'm based in the UK, and I long to have a pen pal - for any reason! Maybe we should set up a website external to reddit, where we can arrange this type of thing and (hopefully) keep safe.

That's why the quotation marks are there. According to the doctor, I'm as well as I can ever be. I suspect it will always be hard for us hug

I also have a history of anorexia. I decided to use MFP to make sure I ate at least 1200 calories (more if I'd done exercise). That way I couldn't skip meals - if I did, I wouldn't get 1200. Because i'm "recovered" sometimes I could eat more (although I did find, if I ever ate more than 2000, I tended to get unreasonably angry at myself, so watch out for that .)

According to Urban Dictionary, a "T-girl" is another word for transsexual, born male but identifies as female, and apparently the word is usually used pre-op.

I tend to refer to this book when looking for inspiration. Although I am not a housewife, when I moved back home after university I took that role on for my dad - he works full time, as do I, but I thought if I could actually help around the house it would be good training for me, and useful for him.

WI is a British thing as far as i remember. "Women's institute" = the nationwide group of women who supported the troops (and themselves, emotionally) by meeting up once a week, making jam or quilts, etc. They also arranged dances and other social occasions. They sorta exist nowadays, but they are nowhere near as good.

Sometimes I almost wish I could be - they have such a backdrop for loving, supportive, respectful marriages, encourage their members to do charity work, and are just generally wonderful communities. It's a shame we missed the glory of days of the WI.

Also, why on earth would mentioning your SO make things awkward? I didn't deliberately bring up my SO in conversations (because that is forced) unless the person I was speaking to sounded flirty, but if someone asked about a necklace/hairstyle/photo I would just say (for example) "Oh, my boyfriend and I did that for Halloween". Disclaimer: I am currently single.

She may want to wait until the children are >10 years old before dating at all, tbf. Raising three kids single handidly sounds incredibly stressful, and with a job ontop of that? I'm sure her first priority will be to her children, so any guy would have to be able to work around that. Also, unsure if going for a guy with kids is the best idea unless she's able to adapt to his parenting methods. A lot of the time, this sort of broken family merges seems to lead (at least in my experience) to one …

As someone who works in the food industry, perhaps I can clarify what I understand to be the OP's point. Ofc I could be barking up the wrong tree :) Essentially, wearing jewellry while cooking increases the number of germs (which can cause food poisoning) by like... a ton. That's why people at fast food places are almost never wearing any jewellry. Its because its incredibly hard to wash germs from the jewellry itself and ontop of that, the hand beneath the jewellry usually isn't washed.

Men are apparently more prone to affairs because while women experience love and intimacy through hugs and kisses, men experience it through sex - the giving and receiving of pleasure. If a woman was in a marriage where the man never said 'I love you', hugged or kissed her, you'd probably see her in an emotional affair with someone at work etc. Those are my thoughts at least :)

Hi! I'm Kat (Anjanas on irc) and I'm 22. I'm in a LDR with my SO, making it work even though its hard. I guess I'm here because I love self improvement. In some ways I do call myself a feminist- but I believe equality does not mean 'same'. Women bring different things to a boardroom or a relationship than men, but that doesn't mean either is worth less and should be disrespected. I find men often end up being disrespected by society (everyone has seen an advert where the man stumbles around tryi…

This is something I'm working on myself at the moment, with some advice from "L is for Lady" (its a book by Sarah Tomczak). Here are her main points on the subject: standing - stand tall imagine a clothes hanger in the shoulders of your jacket with the hook along your neck pull your stomach in tuck your bottom under feet in 3rd [ballet third position]() keep arms by your sides, don't cross them or fiddle sitting - cross ankles keep back straight (note you can do this when leaning forwards) when …
