| 2 | Men in your 40s who got divorced in your early 40s from the love of your life. If you found genuine happiness again (where you don’t think about your ex on a regular basis), how did you find it?I can absolutely feel where you’re at. My scenario was a bit different in that I left, but I also knew it wasn’t worth saving. She had her priorities outside of the marriage, but I was the earner. It takes time. I recommend therapy. You don’t want those traumas coming out at the wrong time. I could chat all day about my experience and what helped and what didn’t. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/10/23 04:35 PM |
| 8 | Anxiety surfaces 9 years post separationHow true. Hard truths but very true. Thanks for the perspective. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/09/22 07:32 PM |
| 3 | Anxiety surfaces 9 years post separationToo late but yea you’re right, I should not have gone for a co-worker. About the past baggage - this is why I want to get it out in therapy. Thanks! | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/09/22 07:28 PM |
| 5 | Anxiety surfaces 9 years post separationTotally agree with moving on too fast!! Kids are OK. He is step-dad nowadays. I really tried to take the high road here and even said Happy Father’s Day to him one year. I’m not really worried about the AP/Stepdad anymore. He can have her. I’m more concerned about dealing with my own crap and making sure I can move on completely. I’m convinced it’s the trauma from before that’s triggering me. I need to get this dealt with. Hence the therapy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/09/22 07:00 PM |
