Nah it’s not if you have been here for a while and on the receiving end of some of her other comments.

It’s not really incel bullshit though. Therapy’s success rate is around 50 percent, so it’s a fact that it doesn’t work for a ton of people

It does for me. I fall asleep every night in like 5 minutes.

No, why would I want my partner to be faking lust for me just bc I am providing other things? That is crushing. I guess to answer the first question, I know by my dating non-success that I don't inspire lust in people, so no, expecting lust wouldn't really make sense currently until I can figure something out.

The main thing with fighting animals is panicking and holding back. Humans usually understandably don’t want to kill a dog even if it’s attacking them, so we tend to hold back consciously or just instinctually. And holding back against an animal that is trying to really harm you usually gets people in trouble.

I don’t get why Reddit makes pitbulls seem so unstoppable, I agree with you. Most men outweigh them by 100 pounds or more, and have far more muscle mass. I think I could take one. I wouldn’t want to fight a dog similar to my size though like a cane corso, that’s where humans lose their advantage against dogs.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/24 10:39 PM
1

Eh, I don’t think so really. Most adult men outweigh pitbulls by 100-120 pounds. Pitbulls mostly kill women and young children. They are over hyped fighting wise on Reddit, it’s rare to see grown men killed by them.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/24 10:38 PM

I should have added a stipulation about someone breaking it up if it starts becoming one sided, bc yeah if the pitbull starts winning it’ll prob just kill whoever it has 😂

Nah, we just think it’s messed up that religion manipulates poor people to believe there is some special reward in heaven and wants them to believe some deity created the world in seven days.

Not everyone wants to believe in myths.

You vs a pitbull. If you win you get ten million dollars, if you lose you become homeless for 90 days. Do you take the fight or no? Personally I’m taking it.

Probably not.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/24 07:41 PM

Humans aren't wolves though, they are apes, and apes do have alphas. Not that humans should take that to the extreme, but wolves not having alphas is not applicable to humans.

I assume on the dating subs there is meant to be nuance/common sense in this advice but a lot of the unsuccessful men on there take the it’ll get better in your 30s too literally. It only gets better if you were somewhat initially doing well, someone hopeless at it most likely won’t get better if they are complacent. Humans form habits and your formative years are too important. Similar to how you won’t just magically become super successful/wealthy if you spent your 20s being terrible with mone…

You can shelter them while preparing them for the reality that the real world is not fond of men being emotional/crying and struggling.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/24 07:31 PM

Accounting is still relatively easy/not that bad compared to most science/medical/engineering disciplines.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/24 04:44 PM

Almost every older hunter I know/go hunting with has massive hearing loss. I don’t know how they even bare shooting without ear protection on. I made that mistake the first time I ever shot a gun and it was seriously painful/could almost cause you to fall to your knees. If anyone here has never shot a gun and wants to one day please wear hearing protection 😂.

Males are around 155 to 200 pounds and have a deadly bite so I don’t see most unarmed humans taking one.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/24 11:28 PM
1

It’s not venomous I don’t think it’s more bacteria but you’re dead either way. And yeah you make a great point with the bite I just don’t think choking it is a viable strategy anyway. It’s not like a dog where adult men usually have 100+ pounds on it, we’re talking about something that weighs just as much as most men and is going to be much more adept at fighting.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/24 11:23 PM
1

I don’t think that’s a viable strategy, male Komodo dragons are like 180 pounds and very strong for their size, no way most humans could hold them down.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/24 10:49 PM
2

To win ten million dollars if you survive for an hour locked in a 500 square foot room with them, which animal are you choosing? Gorilla. Grizzly bear. Jaguar. Komodo dragon. Me personally I’m taking the gorilla. Apparently they aren’t too aggressive if you avoid eye contact/challenging it.

/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/24 09:40 PM

I think seeing a healthy relationship would help when you get into a relationship. I don't think it would help if the main problem is being unable to get first dates in the first place.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 08:13 PM

I think my parents prob weren't worried/didn't think to intervene bc I had a tight knit group of friends in High School. I just am not good at dating/talking to women or getting them to be attracted to me it seems. So I don't think they would have looked for that early on.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 07:48 PM

I've seen some on here say that if their kid/adult kid was heavily struggling with dating that they'd try to help/intervene. But how though, in a realistic way? I heavily struggle with dating and I don't think there's anything my parents could have done. Something like this is pretty out of their control besides basic platitudes.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 07:41 PM
3

Dating isn't like other things though where you can target specific practice and figure it out. I just get rejected with no follow up/it's often just no, no feedback or anything. People say learn by trial and error, but it's nearly impossible when you get no feedback on your errors.

I think average usually gets some interest by now.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/24 09:27 PM
1

I think it’s like cumulative though. So like if you’re the same at 22 you prob are more likely to end up in that 1%. Not to say that they should be freaked out at 18, but it’s not a linear progression. And thinking I had plenty of time made me complacent and that kind of got me no where lol
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/24 07:11 PM

Nah lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/24 06:57 PM

Is it wrong to assume you are unattractive if you haven’t gotten interest from a woman by 22? I think people just try to tell me it could be luck/it’s a numbers game to give support, but I just assume it’s unattractiveness since other guys I know didn’t have to play nearly as much as a numbers game/wait as long.

That’s not necessarily good as I find women don’t like the baby face stuff. I’m 22 and I hate not looking my age lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 04:09 PM

How do you know much of what you’re doing though without the experience?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 04:49 AM

I would never mention it, just nervous she would prob find out when the time comes since I don’t know what I’m doing.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 02:37 AM

Even if directly asked one day I might just try to be vague/get around it lol. I don’t like admitting it to people.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 02:35 AM

Lie about inexperience or be truthful? I’m 22 doesn’t seem like women are very forgiving of it in the 20s lol.

I find journaling doesn’t really help me much. I find it similar to venting, which doesn’t really work for me as I don’t have solutions to the issue. As bad as people say it is, bottling it up seems like the better solution for now.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/24 08:32 PM
1

Yeah but there are degrees of loneliness, stop pretending it’s the same for everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/24 07:37 PM
2

Yeah, nobody really gets it tbh. I try to drown out the feelings with hobbies/distractions, but they come back when I am alone at night or hear about someone experiencing attraction and stuff that goes along with it. I'm not sure there really is a fix besides experiencing it.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/24 05:12 PM
1

Yeah, it’s basically just looking from the outside in every time the subject comes up, which really sucks. On top of really wanting to know what these things (kissing, making out, etc.) feel like for myself after hearing about how they are some of the greatest pleasures with the right person, I also just feel like a child every time sex/relationships is bought up and have nothing to contribute. It’s not fun.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/24 02:09 PM
3

I guess I'm purple/leaning black. I prob would have to get some success to change my mind, or at least get some hint of attraction from a woman I'm interested in to feel better. And I guess meeting someone/people that may have had my experience also. For example, people tell me that it is not that odd that I am 22 and have no experience with the opposite sex, but the majority of men I meet who are my age/around my age have a lot of experience. Even in HS, my friend group was getting their first …
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/24 02:48 AM
1

Not very good compared to how I imagined. I'm pretty far behind in terms of what a typical 22 yo has accomplished/experienced. I have periods where I get over the feelings of sadness over it but I can't fend them off for too long.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/24 02:44 AM
1

I’m glad it gives you some sense of comfort/relief. I know people who see it that way too and honestly makes sense that it is somewhat relieving but like I said for me it’s a bit dangerous so I try to keep it under control lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 09:13 PM
2

Yeah it’s prob super rare but I know people have it. I find the possibility of an exit comforting for me as well, but still terrifying. But I don’t want to get too comfortable with it and spiral/waste things, cause I’ve struggled with mental health before and I know it’s a slippery slope. But I get and understand why people find comfort from it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 02:25 AM
2

I feel like this too sometimes and I’m only 22 😂😭. Maybe it’s cause I’ve had a hard time the last few years but damn does this shit seem long and drawn out if you are struggling.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 10:55 PM
1

But who exactly am I impressing with physical strength though? I feel like unless you are at the extremes of strength, people won’t be impressed by it. Sure, an average dude is strong, but it’s not like anything crazy.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 10:43 PM
1

I guess I just see it differently than most other people, this is not a world I would want to live in tbh lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 10:11 PM
1

Technically yes, but I feel like their might be more boredom after a certain amount of years over 100. Like, you've probably done most of everything you can at this point. Seems like it would be incredibly tedious after a while.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 09:56 PM
2

Physical superiority does not mean as much in today's world. With office jobs and comfy homes abundant, you rarely need your physical strength. So it's not really as much as an advantage as you think tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 09:51 PM

I'd have concerns over delaying aging due to over population and the such. Plus, I'm not sure I'd want to live to like 150. That is an insanely long time in human awareness. I feel like time would seem like it is crawling at the later years.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 09:47 PM
1

Wolfs are pretty massive. It wouldn't be like fighting off a 50 pound pit, it's dealing with a predator close to your weight. A lot of wolves are between 120-170 pounds.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 04:15 PM
1

I think I could land a punch if they tried that.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 01:02 AM

Four more years also seems like a long time but it isn't. 21 to 22 flew by for me and now I'm halfway to 23 and I feel like I just turned 22 a few weeks ago. I am not a fan of this time going by faster shit lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 12:14 AM

They also weigh like 10 pounds so I'm not too worried lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 12:13 AM

Most people underestimate themselves against dogs. I agree that an averagely built male who wants to kill one wouldn't have many problems with it if push really came to shove.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 11:00 PM

I'm convinced the elephant part is trolling. No land animal alive can beat a bull elephant.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 10:59 PM

I mean I wouldn't randomly just do it obviously, but If I was asked in a poll if I would lose to one in a fight my answer would not be yes lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 10:10 PM

<image> This poll is pretty hilarious to me if it's true. On one hand, even though it's a relatively low percentage, too many people think they can beat gorillas/lions hand to hand unarmed. But why are so many brits convinced they would lose to a goose. And why do like 20 percent or more think they would lose to a house cat.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 09:52 PM

Getting into relationships isn't supposed to be unfathomably difficult, it's just hard for certain guys like me and others. But it explains why others find it weird/ask why we are struggling are so much. Tbh, I can't really blame them, if something came easily to you your whole life, you wouldn't really think of those who struggle.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 07:51 PM

Catching up with old friends is one of the main things that keeps me going/motivated so I got to agree with this one tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 07:50 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 07:35 PM

Not into it tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 05:09 PM

Yes, I have friends that I’ll see every now and then and catch up, but we’re not a group and not what I would describe as a social circle.

They prob just hide it irl better and act more crazy online because there are no consequences/push back.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 04:28 PM

Yeah I graduated college almost a year ago now. Maybe it’s the exception but I still didn’t see/seem to talk to many of the extreme crazy ones. Maybe it was just luck.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 04:27 PM

I think Reddit brings out the most crazy of them though tbh. I’ve never seen the extreme leftist type irl and I live in a very liberal city.

If you appeared it’d only be a pleasant surprise.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 04:24 PM

Ugh I hate nightmares lol thankfully I haven't had them in a while. They just kind of stopped when I was 15-16. I always laugh/feel bad when people tell me about theirs. It's great not getting them though bc I can finally watch the best horror movies without worrying about getting nightmares.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 02:14 PM
1

I actually kind of hate when my parents hype me up bc I haven't lived up to my expectations much. I prefer to be spoken about as average that way I can't disappoint tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/24 01:32 AM
1

I suppose you could do that. But it’d be pointless for me if everything would just get wiped out and restart anyway. I just don’t relate to people who really hope for some sort of reoccurring life/reincarnation. Part of what somewhat gives life meaning to me is that it ends permanently imo. If everything just gets reset it’d lose appeal.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 10:46 PM
1

Yeah that would suck even more, but with how wacky some afterlife theories get I could see it being a possibility for some people to believe in.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 10:28 PM
1

Nah, I hate Valentine’s Day lmao.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 10:21 PM
3

If reincarnation is somehow real there better be a memory wipe because no way am I doing another 80 years of this over again without going insane.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 10:16 PM
2

For shoving me in front of the guy with a knife yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 08:48 PM

Beautiful face every time.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 10:44 AM

For some reason some people on who would win reddit are convinced 1 house cat can do serious damage on a normal man I don’t know what’s wrong with them 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 02:01 AM

I mean they can and have, pitbulls killing humans usually happen with women and young children. The man is much heavier, much stronger, can use his weight to break several of the pits bones, and choke it out. Most people panic which gives the dog the advantage from the jump. And also a pure bred pit is not a large breed. The non mixed ones weigh like 50-60 pounds.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 01:49 AM

It’s pretty rare it seems especially if going away for college. Your circle is prob just biased towards not experiencing it since you said you are all nerdy students lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 01:39 AM

Yeah probably.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 01:33 AM
6

No.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 01:32 AM

Nah I will still drink them if I see them available lmao.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 01:31 AM

With no other options would you rather have to fight an enraged pitbull or four enraged house cats?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 01:29 AM

I think the average man could fight off a healthy pitbull if determined, so yes. But fear is a natural reaction.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 01:27 AM

An average man determined could take out a full grown pit, let alone a malnourished one. Most men outweigh normal pits by 100-120 pounds and have much more muscle mass. Pitbulls mostly seriously harm women/young children.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 01:27 AM

Considering the damage some of them can do fear is kind of warranted.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 12:40 AM
4

They complain because 99.9 percent of them aren't actually capable of living off grid and it's an escape fantasy for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 09:23 PM

Damn that's rough, it's really sad.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 09:23 PM
2

Yeah you have a point. But they would get killed in about 15 seconds back when humans had to live among dangerous predators based off of what I have read across this site lmao.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 08:47 PM
1

We relatively are free in first world countries. Living in the wilderness/hunting dangerous game and megafauna for food, having no ac, heat, or running water, and other dangers of thousands of years ago is much more difficult than today's living standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 08:46 PM
2

Lmaoooooo you got me dying with this one.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 08:45 PM
1

Yes, it is heavily linked. I forget where I read it, but a lot of studies show for example that financially you most likely never rise above the level you were born at. So, if you were born UMC, you will most likely stay at UMC, same for the others. More evidence that your childhood/the zip code you were born in is usually the best predictor of life success.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 08:36 PM

What's with all these clowns on subs where they say modern life is terrible cause of a 9-5 corporate job and they wish they could go back thousands of years/off grid/hunter gatherer time. If they struggle this much with amenities like tech, ac, running water, heat, they would get folded in like 10 seconds back in those times lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 08:33 PM
1

This sub has a higher concentration of people who struggle than irl. Also people tend to naturally become friends with people similar to them, so if you’ve been successful dating, it’s unlikely you will run into many people who struggle.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 07:52 PM
3

Elephants actually have skin with tiny cracks so that they can hold more moisture when they splash around in a pond/water. They don't have sweat glands like other animals that would allow them to keep cool.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 04:22 PM
2

It depends on the person apparently. I haven't been to therapy myself though so take my opinion/comment with a grain of salt. Also, people say it can take a while to find a therapist who is a good fit, so it will be time consuming/demanding most likely to find a therapist that is good for you. And yes, some men report that the talk therapy isn't really effective for them, they are motivated by potential solutions and the steps they can take to achieve them.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 03:18 PM
1

I think I could live with possibly a 200 year one. 500 is still way too long imo. I think people have brainwashed themselves with the idea that life is short/and compare things to the span of the universe’s existence/age, but 500 years for a human is an insanely long time that would get repetitive/drawn out real quick.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 03:18 AM
1

I’d only accept reincarnation if my memory from my past life was wiped. No way am I going through this whole life thing again knowing what it’s like 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 02:15 AM

Random question but does anyone not like the idea of possible immortality under any circumstances? On Reddit, when people are asked the hypothetical about it, they say it would suck because of out living your loved ones. But even with my loved ones around and also immortal, I still think I would get tired of it. Just 1,000 years is a super long time from a human life span, now imagine being stuck in your normal routine for billions of years until the sun expands and takes us all out. Sounds mise…

It's prob still not very common, but more common than it used to be for sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 10:07 PM

What exactly is a virgin looking guy lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 09:23 PM

Yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 07:35 PM

I like rottweilers more too. And I still don't really trust pits that much even though rotties are bigger lol. Though I think I could fight either dog off if push came to shove.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 07:34 PM

The U.S. is in it's own unique situation compared to other countries though. Australia probably never had 400 million guns in the country, which america does. That's millions of more guns than people at this point, it's going to be very hard to close that up now.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 07:30 PM

Nothing is supposed to happen really lol. It just is what it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 07:29 PM

Where are you hearing about it so much? I have a group of male friends and not once has this so called male loneliness epidemic been both up between us. I find it hard to believe random strangers would start bringing it up in public.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 03:58 PM

For some people it gets better. For me I was much happier at 18 than I am now at 22 tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 03:14 PM

Stop ignoring your blatantly false points on suicide lol. You live in a fantasy world/la la land.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 03:12 PM

Yes, most studies show that a ton of men who ask for help end up committing suicide anyway. It’s really sad tbh.

I don’t work there anymore as it was just a summer internship, but maybe I should have done that.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 03:45 AM
1

What was your favorite class in high school?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 03:31 AM
1

Eh it’s more of the same. If sex is such this earth shattering experience than it is in fact important.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 03:28 AM
1

Not really. Bc I can look at other peoples problems on my own and see that they are pretty bad. But that doesn’t make me feel any better about never having dated someone/had a successful date.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 01:44 AM
1

Yeah it’s too late for that with those two obviously but I prob should have tried to make up something instead of succumbing and making things worse immediately.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 01:43 AM
3

So at my last internship over the summer two women coworkers asked me if I ever had a gf and when I said no they said they could tell and I give off virgin vibes. Just brutal, I knew I should’ve dodged the question but if they were already suspecting I gave off virgin vibes then dodging wouldn’t have done anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 01:41 AM
1

Comparing problems isn’t helpful.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 01:40 AM
3

Two women co workers found out I never had a gf and I was pretty much the brunt of their jokes for like the rest of the internship.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 01:39 AM
1

Some of the ideas/opinions in the which gender has it harder thread are so unrealistic it’s almost hilarious. Between war needs to be outlawed on a global level and no fighting should happen (this will never happen) and comparing dealing with creeps to suicide, I think some users live in their version of idealized la la land.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 12:16 AM
1

Yeah that prob is their logic tbh. But it’s still almost insensitive to suggest someone killing themselves has the same problem as someone who has to deal with creepiness once in a while.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 12:13 AM
1

The help programs are often ineffective. Between 30 and 80 percent of men who commit suicide sought help before their decision. The just world fallacy is strong in your post lol. And your appeal to ideals is so delusional it’s almost unreal. “We shouldn’t have any war period.” Do you live in the real world dude? This is living in la la land on steroids. This will never happen and suggesting it is almost comical.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 12:04 AM
1

Not outside of the internet. I’ve never heard anyone talk about this loneliness epidemic irl.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 12:02 AM

The comment was clearly implying in the case that he changed his mind.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 11:50 PM
1

Yikes, I’m really sorry to hear that, that’s awful. I would be traumatized/guilt ridden for life. I will admit it’s more dangerous on public land. But still safe if people are wearing proper amounts of orange/following rules. I’m lucky to have a private spot to hunt on so my worry about a hunting accident is really low. Unless some psycho tried to trespass and shoot me.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 11:48 PM

It’s unusual but understandable if you never wanted one. But if you do at some point desire one, never volunteer this information to potential women you are dating. It’s a red flag for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 11:03 PM
2

This isn't a serious concern when people are wearing proper hunting orange and take time to identify their targets. Hunting accidents are entirely avoidable with proper care.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 10:28 PM
1

I'm pretty sure you can suggest they not show content from there anymore and it will remove it from your feed.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 09:07 PM
1

In medieval times you didn't have all these distractions but life was way more of a fight for survival. I'm guessing struggling guys like us were just low tier and died in wars most of the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 09:06 PM
2

There are also other benefits to hunting such as population control as deer have quite a high population without predators in several states which leads to more car/property damage. And yeah, they taste good and I enjoy being in the woods so I just enjoy hunting.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 09:05 PM
3

What's with people thinking wild animals die these beautiful deaths. If people are horrified over someone shooting a deer, I think they'd die from seeing a bear rip one to pieces or slowly starving to death.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 08:41 PM

Not really. Apparently most men are bad at sex anyway according to women, so it’s more likely they’ll just assume they aren’t good rather than inexperience.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 06:29 PM

The man has much more to lose for admitting inexperience than the other way around.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 06:29 PM
3

Nah, usually men are blamed much more for their problems than the other way around.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 05:46 PM
6

Not to be insensitive, but suicide or dying in a war is so much worse than this that it is almost comical to compare the two. Getting approached by creeps vs offing yourself is not in any way of the same magnitude.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 05:38 PM
9

Most studies show that between a third and eighty percent of men who commit suicide had sought help before the act. This indicates that either they didn't give the full extent of their problems, the help they received did not work, or that their problems simply were not fixable with therapy. So, even when men seek help, it often is not enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 05:37 PM

Yeah I agree with this. While we do live in the best time period in terms of safety/crime, cost of living is insanely stressful for most people to contemplate. I realized that I prob won’t ever be able to buy a house without dual income that you get from being married/dating, and that’s not an inspiring realization. This can definitely affect dating prospects also.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 04:37 PM

More evidence that there’s zero reason to ever voluntarily disclose your inexperience as a man lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 04:35 PM

You’ll never find consistency in this sub
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 04:31 PM

Good morning, good rising sounds stupid af
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 04:30 PM
4

Damn that’s pretty cool lol. Yeah idk why guys feel the need to to volunteer their inexperience. Even if she found out eventually, you’ll have experience now and you get that pre selection factor.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 04:11 PM
1

I’d say a lot look to them that way bc of the women are wonderful effect. Even though obv it’s bs lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 01:33 PM
1

I expect they would only ask if they suspected you were inexperienced. Obviously if you are super charismatic/confident they probably do not get that vibe.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 02:05 AM
1

I don’t know what you can do exactly but when I was in middle school and bullied one kid didn’t stop until I threw him into a bush so imo the whole violence isn’t the answer thing isn’t true 😂. But some schools have a zero tolerance policy so it’s risky.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 01:18 AM
1

He’s got a point though. Usually the insults don’t stop if people do nothing.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 01:12 AM
2

Yeah I would just not say anything if I got the chance. I get being worried about her seeing that you’re bad at sex, but it’s better than just getting ghosted once she finds out you’re inexperienced anyway tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 01:12 AM
6

Idk why so many inexperienced dudes on Reddit drive themselves crazy asking if they should tell potential dates if they have no experience. Just lie. How many threads about women finding it a red flag do you need to see to be convinced.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 01:07 AM

Maybe, but it’s possible that men who don’t struggle with suicidal thoughts are far more likely to get married in the first place, so we don’t have a definitive answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 01:01 AM
3

People are cruel.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 12:59 AM
2

It’s really only a viable strategy assuming the decline doesn’t reach a point where it affects you. And if it doesn’t, it’s hard to even say it’s a true decline at that point.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 12:58 AM
13

This is why it’s just best to lie if you are a man in this position. Way too risky to tell the truth.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 12:57 AM

This isn’t always avoidable. Especially as friends start getting married/having kids and you are the only single one left and it becomes harder to stay in touch. And it seems men are just more prone to isolation in general for whatever reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 10:04 PM

Suicide prob doesn’t have to do much with being married. People who have their mind set on it will do it no matter if single or married eventually.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 09:58 PM

Except being single is actually prob much more stressful to being married to the right person, especially for men. Think about it. Insane cost of living now a days, by yourself you are on your own, with a partner you have two incomes which makes things much easier. Have to clean everything by yourself, never take turns cooking, and you know in the back of your head that if you founder you are on your own if you don’t have a good support group while single. Add all the other benefits a good marri…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 09:57 PM
2

Yeah but the issue is therapy is recommended for every single little situation and problem now a days. Not every problem requires therapy. In addition to the financial cost, it apparently takes several tries to even find a good therapist for most people. On top of financial responsibilities and time constraints, it doesn’t seem like a realistic situation for most.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 05:35 PM
3

On top of that it apparently takes very long to find a good therapist that fits you. And while yes you should apparently put effort into finding that, how many people have the time/money to constantly be trying out different therapists? The whole system seems very flawed and luck based.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 04:52 PM
2

I'd appreciate her telling me that so I can leave and try to find someone that actually desires me.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 03:46 PM
3

It sucks but I’m not surprised about the lack of compassion. But it’s still messed up to say about people who commit suicide. As someone else pointed out there was a somewhat similar thread on boys being way outperformed by girls on the teachers subreddit, and there was a lot of vitriol towards boys on the thread.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 01:09 PM
2

Is this really true? Bc the last point about men killing themselves bc of the consequences of their own actions is definitely not anything any therapist should say and is super out of line with
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 01:03 PM
1

Well it's not that It works for me irl, it's just that I'm also terrible at the other options. As I said, I've been told I'm quite boring to talk to online just from platonic people, so with a romantic opportunity which is rare for me I'm sure I'd fumble even harder.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 09:48 PM
2

How do you know so many irl? Us inexperienced men are actually quite rare irl, you find the concentration of them on the internet.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 09:41 PM
2

It's weird to just randomly hate people online yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 09:37 PM
1

This seems like super low success rate too lol. And I've never known any guys I know to actually do this. Plus my conversations skills online are total trash (other people I used to talk to online would confirm this lol) so I would really struggle to do anything even if I got initial interest from a woman online.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 09:36 PM
1

I don't enjoy that act specifically, but hunting is relaxing, a way for me to escape city life/enjoy the silence, and deer tastes good on top of it. I also see it as a normal part of life, it's a huge part of why our species was so successful.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 09:27 PM
1

Isn't months/years quite a long time to wait to express interest? Actually I made a thread about this on here recently lol. Seems if you do wait and then ask her out you're accused of using the friendship to try and get in her pants.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 09:06 PM
1

I still think it's weird for people who enjoy eating animals that other people kill hate hunters. I only respect vegetarians or vegans who see it as a red flag bc at least they can back up their talk.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 09:04 PM
1

Hunting is relaxing and deer taste good.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 09:02 PM
1

Mostly bc it's hard for me to meet single women bc my friend group is mostly men and we don't meet women often, and the only other options is the apps really. So cold approaching even though the most difficult and least successful seems like one of the viable options left.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 09:00 PM
2

Yeah, on my campus it isn't uncommon to see it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 08:58 PM
1

I actually have yelled at them, but it’s only really a temporary fix before they ask the same question a few months later. It’s like this with the rest of my fam too, asking me about dating/why I haven’t bought anyone home yet.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 06:41 PM
1

I was pissed but not much I could do anyway, what was I supposed to say 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 06:34 PM
1

No offense but this is really patronizing lol. Most people do not suck at dating. It’s why inexperienced men like me are outliers. If I’m the only one I know who has reached 22 without getting a kiss/sex, then most people do not suck at dating. They may not be as good as someone who’s really good, but they are decent at it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 06:08 PM
1

People are often blind to their own ways lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 05:31 PM
2

I forget the user or maybe we are taking about the same person but one fds person that used to post here and bragged about her supposed bf was actually very active in femcel Reddit forums 😂.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 05:30 PM
1

They are not worthless when speaking about issues that majority affects the people of that age.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 04:50 PM
1

To get with an extraordinary woman you need to be extraordinary yourself, and most guys who reach my age without experience usually are not extraordinary.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 04:43 PM
43

Apps or shared hobbies/bars seem the only way. If you don’t have a mixed social circle that meets new single women often it’s basically playing on impossible level difficulty.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 04:28 PM

Yeah this is probably it. The consistency of having it prob makes them forget it is important, and it only becomes important again once something interferes with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 03:53 PM

Ah, maybe it’s different in a professional setting. My small group of people I talk to hasn’t really bought it up besides the quick mention.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 03:33 PM

Yeah, I agree that if you lose it then then the few years struggling maybe aren’t a big deal. It becomes a problem when people continue to struggle.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 03:31 PM

Eh, not really, especially if you are busy with other stuff. I’ve been pretty occupied with things lately and Valentine’s Day coming up completely slipped my mind. I assume it’s different if you are in a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 03:30 PM

Yeah I’d prob agree that the first time isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things. But I’d argue that being able to have a consistent sex life throughout life is a big deal, and missing out on that prob is a little detrimental.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 02:58 PM

Yeah I can prob agree on that somewhat. But a good amount of the time, it is the same people who perpetuate those messages. I think what happens if that they got it so easily/never had to think about it much that it really isn’t a big deal to them, because they know they’ll never have to worry about not having it. But these same people will say that sex with someone you love is one of the best feelings out there, but somehow dont make the connection after saying that that it is a big deal.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 02:56 PM

Yeah, I think the argument is sort of like “it’s like air, you only think of it once you don’t have it.” But that still means it’s actually quite a huge deal, both in relationships and just life in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 02:34 PM

I wouldn’t expect it bc I should be able to fight off any random woman with not much trouble.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 02:15 PM
7

Are you in the US? Politics in the US are a lot more charged/drastic in the us today so it is seen as a huge deal here. In other countries it seems like people aren’t as torn apart over politics.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 02:12 PM

Boring class or are you just always tired?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 02:09 PM

I’m gonna get called salty but idc, but as an inexperienced man seeing people spam sex isn’t a big deal seems odd, especially when you see posts about relationships imploding over a lack of it, or “I become so irritable after a while without sex” or “Sex is one of the greatest pleasures of life.” Is the argument meant to be sex isn’t a big deal when you’re single or something? 😂😂. Bc it seems to fuck up a lot of shit in a relationship once there is a lack of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 02:08 PM
1

I think this is dangerous though. Usually women like their man to have some experience/to know what he is doing with sex and dating. If you intentionally avoid those things, it can end up back firing later on.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 02:02 PM
1

I’ve sort of done the same as you where I convince myself of hope to avoid tanking my mental state, but the problem is even though it works for a while it eventually comes crashing down on me pretty hard. But if you can keep it up I guess it would work pretty well.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 02:01 PM
0

Mostly bc I don’t believe it happens unless the man is somewhat attractive/passes the threshold for looks anyway. And since I’ve never personally passed their threshold for looks, it’s hard to communicate the importance of chemistry to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 01:42 PM
1

Yes lol. Who wants to be thought of as somewhat ugly. I would want to be found attractive by my potential partner not just seen as meh.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 02:57 AM
2

Yall “we live in a simulation” people are so insufferable lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 01:42 AM
1

Yeah but what if you at least think you have a good relationship with yourself already and love yourself, but just struggle with getting attraction from others? I don’t think that everyone who struggles with dating has a self worth issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 01:31 AM
1

TBF, I don’t think I ever claimed what I was attempting was working.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 10:04 PM
1

I’m not sure if that was meant to be sarcastic but it’s hard to avoid it. Between not living up to my own ideas of the dating success I thought I’d have when I was younger, my parents being concerned/disappointed that I haven’t been able to date, watching my peers surpass me in these areas, and the scenario above pain just seems to be a part of normal life lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 09:58 PM
1

I mean yeah? I think it’s important to put yourself first to avoid more pain. If it’s painful for me to be around them, why would I continue being around them?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 09:47 PM
1

Yeah it is crazy but good for him lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 09:20 PM
1

They just don't really go away for me. If I desire something more with that person, it just becomes painful to have unreciprocated feelings yet continue to be around them.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 09:19 PM
1

Bc my feelings most likely will not go away.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 08:55 PM
1

What does that have to do with what I said though? My point was that you said the singular few days/months of pain is nothing in the grand scheme of life. Comparing any singular moment to the grand scheme is pointless. Any event would be pointless then. I'm not trying to compare this to trauma obviously, but it'd be like me telling someone who went through some heavily traumatic event, "oh don't worry, this event will end up passing like nothing as it can't hold a candle to 80 years of life."
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 08:46 PM
2

Comparing anything we experience to the span of our entire lives though is stupid. Then pretty much any event is meaningless. And a human life is actually pretty long through the human perspective, I don't agree with the whole idea of life being short lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 07:34 PM
1

lol that kind of sounds similar to me and my brother. Although I don’t talk about any of my dating issues to my family often. But he prob will get married soon while I’ve had no success. What issues does the brother face? Like shyness/introversion/not meeting enough people or is it just a physical attractiveness thing?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 06:02 PM
1

Is his brother successful dating too? I often wonder what the successful ones think about those who hold some old views bc my brother is way more successful at dating than me but I hide my views lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 05:57 PM

I’m pretty sure that study was flawed, though I’d be interested in new studies that prove this statement.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 04:10 PM
1

Yeah that makes sense. But if they say they do care I’m not sure what parents could realistically do anyway. A kids dating life is largely out of their control.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 03:38 PM
0

Sure, but I don’t think selfishness is always a bad thing tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 03:38 PM
1

The last point is an okay one but it’s overstated. Yes, you can focus on loving yourself, but humans are very social animals and having no experience with romance your entire life isn’t exactly healthy. So even someone with good self esteem could be affected by this. Second, I don’t think therapists are meant to be helping you with dating advice lol. It’s good for other things, but it’s also very hard for people to fit in their schedule, especially if they are busy with full time jobs and managi…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 02:42 PM
1

Hmmm, I’d say normal is getting your first kiss/make out in hs/college and losing your virginity around the same time period or a little later. Like 17-19. And as far as the rest goes, I’d say a decent sex life in a ltr and maybe like four-five long term relationships would be normal throughout life.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 02:34 PM
1

Ah I’m going to have to agree to disagree with you on this one. It usually just doesn’t disappear for me. As another guy stated below, unreciprocated feelings/attraction can often be quite painful for me/us.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 02:24 PM
5

Yeah this is said pretty well. I think it’s easier to get over things if you know in the back of your head that you’ll have other opportunities come along, or somewhat of an abundance mindset. When you have very little or virtually no romantic/dating prospects like me I find it hard to just move on and go “ah well there will be someone else.”
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 02:21 PM
3

Yeah from what I’ve heard basically, if you don’t make your interest known fast things won’t work.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 02:15 PM
0

I mean, that’s just the risk people take then when trying to start romantic relationships with people. If a woman wants to date a man and something goes wrong I don’t think it means “her wanting to fuck him>him.”
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 02:14 PM
1

Usually if I’m interested in them I’d ask them out/on a date and see what their response is lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 02:10 PM
1

I don’t think most women like hunting and fishing tbh 😅. I like fishing but I’d never put anything on my profile about it lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 02:03 PM
6

Well, sometimes in the midst of developing a friendship feelings develop and I feel it would be wrong/kind of impossible after a while to hide them for an extended period of time, so I thought that showing interest is better than just continuing to develop the friendship when you’re really interested in the person.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 04:47 AM
6

I don’t think I’m just confusing online statements, I’ve been told this irl too when sharing my experiences with people I’ve asked for advice previously on what can maybe help my chances with getting dates/being able to be seen as a romantic prospect to somebody.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 04:45 AM
2

By a real life relationship do you mean a romantic one? No, no sex experiences/kiss either or any of that lol. I’m talking about irl friendships with guys I know who also struggle and we often deal with the same advice. And by friend, I don’t necessarily mean a super deep friendship. I mean someone I’ve gotten to know as part of a group and we are friendly with each other and hang out with the group that we are a part of somewhat often.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 04:38 AM
5

It’s not really about dealing with discomfort to restore the friendship back to normal state tbh. It’s that if I see someone as a potential romantic prospect I’m interested in, after rejection, I probably wouldn’t want to continue hanging out/being friends with them for extended periods as it’d just be a reminder/hurt to know that you desire something more with this person and it will never happen. That’s often why I have to distance myself.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 04:36 AM
3

Oh it’s not like once a month lol, it tends to happen if it’s with someone I find attractive and we’ve known each other for a bit.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 04:32 AM
4

I don’t think I can just turn my feelings off like that honestly. If I find her attractive and we get along really well they just kind of naturally develop. Plus I think maybe I’m hopeful of finally being seen as a romantic/sexual prospect to someone (never have) rather than always being seen in a friendly way so maybe I get a little too anxious when I have a friendship with someone that I could see progressing further and set myself up for further disappointment.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 04:30 AM
12

Based off of what exactly? 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 04:13 AM
3

Yeah I can’t speak to what other guys do I guess with this. I’ve wanted a relationship more but I guess I could see some using it to have sex but then just ghost/friendzone after. But that seems like a super long game to try and play rather than just making your interest known fast.

It’s great that you got all these goals and are enjoying your career path, I’m happy for you. And yeah the last point is spot on, even in super hcol cities like nyc, 100k if you are single without a family is still super comfortable. Reddit exaggerates how little 100k is, if you have reasonable spending habits/money management, it’s very comfortable.

Suicide can be rational yes, but it doesn't change the fact that overcoming the survival instinct is extremely hard.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 02:20 AM
1

Honestly this is a great outlook but becoming an expert at all these things is pretty much impossible lol. This is why I somewhat disagree when people say to romantically lonely guys there is more to life than sex. Yes, there is, but your average dude won't have the money or time to explore a ton of these things. And for the average dude, having a family/romantic companionship is a huge part of life.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 02:16 AM
3

Nah I disagree with this one. Suiciding will never become a majority because it requires a severe problem in the brain to go through with it. And I'm not demeaning suicidal people with that, I've been suicidal myself. But even when one is depressed, it's quite the jump to go to suicide. It's incredibly difficult to do also, successful attempts are less common, and you have to overcome a survival instinct built into you by billions of years of evolution. Shits not easy. It's why I vehemently disa…

Cold approaches is prob the least successful of the three. Friends is difficult for me as none of my friends know any single women that I can potentially meet, and we don't have a mixed friend group. We're mostly single men, which is the problem. And apps are portrayed to be the devil. So yeah, it seems things are tough now a days. I empathize with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 01:58 AM
1

I think the uncomfortable truth is that this prob is simply the only way to really meet partners now a days. With approaches becoming less acceptable, it seems you gotta be introduced through friends, who might not even know any single women looking to date, or ultimately try your luck with the apps, which apparently are nightmarish. It's rough out there lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 01:09 AM
28

Yeah I honestly gotta agree with this. Seems the judgement really is based off of if the person was successful getting into a relationship with the person he became friends with.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 01:04 AM
7

Yeah I can see and understand being hurt by it. But it's not that we didn't value the friendship, it just really hurts wanting more than a friendship with someone you have feelings for and knowing you'll never get that.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 12:36 AM
1

Well yeah, you'll find no argument from me there. But you said that the main thing women value men for is platonic company, which is where I disagree with you. Complaining less about the friendzone isn't mutually exclusive with this.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 12:07 AM
1

You kind of perfectly expressed how I feel. Yes, friends are great. But it's typical for friends to get married/have kids/ and have way less time for you. So I don't get why it's demonized to want to try to get successful dating going too if you are feeling romantically lonely. Friends can't fulfill the romantic/sexual desire aspect.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 11:59 PM
6

No, I really don't see dishonesty lol. I do enjoy friendship, but If I'm attracted to the person and catch feelings for them I do like to make my interest known. If It doesn't work out, it doesn't mean that I never wanted friendship in the first place.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 11:49 PM
1

I don't blame anyone else for my issue, but it does make me sad that my parents prob view me this way. And it is what it is, some people just aren't very good at dating/getting attraction from potential partners. It sucks but not every issue can be solved fast.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 11:46 PM
0

I think I have to agree to disagree, I don’t think women mostly value men for the platonic company, but you prob wouldn’t agree with what I do think they value them for mostly.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 11:41 PM
0

And what would you say a man's main value to a woman is? It might not be sex, but I don't think it's some super noble reason either, so I don't think it makes much of a diff tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 11:21 PM
8

I don't think repeatedly developing feelings is a bad thing if you find the person attractive and can see yourself as being a good partner to them. I guess that's where I differ from the majority opinion on this. I've had women friends but I do catch feelings for some often.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 11:20 PM
1

Well obv I won't lie and say attractiveness/sexual attractiveness does not matter, but I don't think that is a bad thing that it does matter. No one wants to date someone they don't find attractive. And I think most men do value intelligence in their partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 11:01 PM
2

Yeah the question isn’t phrased well in the title I’ll admit lol. I was trying to say that a good amount of people will assume that if a guy expresses sadness about asking out a woman friend of his and ends the friendship that the only reason he became friends was to potentially have sex with her. I wonder why it’s never considered that the man could have developed feelings for her after becoming friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 10:54 PM
14

It’s not that we were never friends or don’t want to be friends honestly, it’s that it hurts when I want something more with the person and I know I won’t be able to get it, so I feel like it’s best if we both move on.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 10:45 PM

lol I feel you. Once I get super focused on one thing I can’t change it it seems.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 10:44 PM
9

I think people misjudge/assume guys are faking the friendship. I think it's common for a guy to develop feelings and then get accused of using the person if it doesn't work out for any reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 10:06 PM
3

Well yeah, finding the middle ground is hard though. I've only had one sort of date experience, and it didn't go well at all, and I haven't got dates before or since, and just rejection. People say learn from trial and error, but it's very difficult when you don't even get to first base to learn from what you are doing. I have tried somewhat of a balance between asking out immediately vs never making my interest known, but it hasn't done much for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 10:05 PM
2

The thing is, I've asked people irl about it too, and they generally tell me this. But then I am either told that I coming on too strong when the interest is shown early on, or told that I am using the friendship in hopes of something more if I try that approach.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 09:39 PM

I feel the same lol. Have trouble being productive pretty often and not finding a lot of things enjoyable to focus on.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 09:21 PM
1

It’s not necessarily about excuses, it’s that a lot of kids don’t really end up following their parents same life trajectory/experiences.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 07:59 PM
1

By adult age, I mean someone like in my case, 22/early 20s and a few years removed from turning 18.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 07:52 PM
1

I don’t think it’s that they don’t have self respect. I think humans are very social and romance is part of that. So in my case, seeing like 90 percent of your peers easily obtain these experiences can be pretty frustrating/isolating. You say there are ways to make sure it never reaches that point, but how? Outside of general advice, there’s not much parents can do for their kids’ dating success besides offer encouragement and the other usual platitudes people hear.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 07:51 PM
1

Well things don’t always turn out well for people lol. My parents were both romantically successful, I’m sure they didn’t think their son would have never kissed anyone by 22 or any of that, but here we are. Some things are out of parents control.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 07:49 PM
1

A full on arranged marriage id be kind of ashamed of. My self esteem is already low over this so admitting that I couldn’t get it done like 99 percent of people would prob be crushing imo. I think part of it is an ego thing too, I’d love to feel like I was attractive enough/good at flirting to the point where a woman wanted to go out with me, kiss me, have sex with my etc. So if I couldn’t get it done through those means it’d prob be an ultimate ego crusher, but I guess if all hope is lost match…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 07:48 PM

I meant it is natural for parents to be worried/disappointed, not that dating comes to people naturally. Although I actually do think it is, I think dating is like everything else in life where some people are just naturally better at it than others, some a lot better.

Society is nowhere near finished. We just see more discontent people online venting about it/and the problem is exaggerated somewhat. The reality is that the world will always keep spinning barring a catastrophe and that individual lives don’t really prevent the world from continuing to go round and round. As a lonely/discontent guy myself, I’ve realized that even though I’m not content, that it is not a society wide issue and that if something happened to me/I was no longer around there would o…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 07:29 PM

Okay dumb question but what is a super swipe.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 06:46 PM

How do you even get into doing it if you really don’t want to? Maybe it’s different for a woman but I wouldn’t be able to get aroused if my mind really didn’t want to get into it.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 06:34 PM

Are you in America? I think they approach here less than in other countries perhaps.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 06:33 PM
3

Yeah it kind of stung to read that but at the same time I appreciate the blunt view point on the matter 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 06:27 PM
5

Chad sure, but I would like to have some of the normal expected romantic/sexual success. It kind of hurts to see your peers excel far from you in that way, but it is what it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 06:13 PM
1

I would really want it with someone I’m attracted to plus love. I think it provides great things in life, such as companionship, romantic love, sex, other physical affection which is good for you etc I do somewhat see the status aspect of it. Married people are generally more respected/seen as put together than single. But I would be sad if I could never achieve it mostly due to missing out on things I stated in the first paragraph.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 06:10 PM

I’m 22 and most agree it’s weird that I haven’t had a kiss/sex or any of that yet. My plan is to just hide it from any potential partners unless they deliberately ask, assuming I get to that point.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 05:26 PM
1

I’m pretty sure this poster you are replying to is a woman, so not having a male frame doesn’t really apply to them being unattractive here.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 05:15 PM
1

Would you feel sad if you kid thought of themselves less as a man/woman and felt left out by lacking these experiences? These are common feelings in inexperienced people I know. But I’m not sure how much parents could help realistically.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 05:12 PM
8

Yeah that’s also a somewhat common experience. I’ve been accused of ruining the friendship or only being friends to get in there pants after saying I was interested in a woman friend of mine.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 05:03 PM
2

Eh I still think 19 is a somewhat normal age to lose it? When you start getting near 23 like me I think it’s a lot more abnormal.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 03:47 PM
4

Yeah the contradicting messages are crazy too. Like complaining that they aren’t approached but saying they don’t want to be. It reminds me of similarly hearing that you shouldn’t become friends with women to get in their pants, but then if you make your attraction clear to them early on it’s “oh my god you just want her for sex!!” 😂 At this point I’ve received so many contradicting messages that I’m discouraged from trying any longer lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 03:32 PM
5

I would say if she is flirting back it'd prob be best to try continuing then. Obv if she seems uninterested I would not, but if she seems interested I wouldn't want to throw away a potential opportunity, so I say you should go for it honestly.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 03:11 PM
5

Paying for it wouldn’t do any good, that’s just pathetic and ultimate admission of self defeat that you couldn’t do it the normal way like everyone else 😂. But I think this conversation has run its course, I won’t be engaging any further.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 02:30 PM
5

Well I can assure you I'm not a violent psycho lol, but I guess it won't matter if you already have your mind made up like that about inexperienced men. I would say I just feel lonely/left out and strongly desire having a romantic connection with a woman, but don't relate to the rage the other online incels usually have. I prob can't change your perspective but most lonely guys I've talked to have been the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 02:15 PM
13

Oh yeah I've heard that one too, but you prob gotta ignore it at some point or else it will having you believing that you can never approach women what so ever.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 02:06 PM
2

I don’t think it’s a refusal to learn, it’d just be failure at getting a woman’s attraction/attention to the point where she considers you a viable romantic partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:54 PM
3

Like the general definition of incel or the woman hating type? I agree with you if it’s the first point but I don’t think most men will turn into raging misogynistic psychos if they don’t get success with women. I think most are like me or other older inexperienced men I’ve talked to where we are just lonely and don’t really bother anyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:51 PM
1

Yeah but what exactly can you do though? Outside of platitudes, I don’t think expressing this sentiment to your child would be taken very well and most parents can’t realistically “intervene” in a helpful way anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:48 PM
2

I think it’s natural tbh and I can somewhat see where they are coming from. I have told them that I’ve wanted to have those experiences, so I think the disappointment comes from their son being unable to achieve what mostly comes naturally for a ton of people.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:46 PM
1

Yeah the compassionate comments still seem as a slight, but they are rarely compassionate. It’s more to the effect of “We’re concerned bc most people your age have done something and you haven’t.” Which I get where they are coming from. It’s hard not to feel like it hurts my self worth being left out/missing out on an activity that seems pretty core to the human experience/comes super easily to others, but I usually just try to block out those thoughts, though sometimes I can’t and I just ride t…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:42 PM
2

I don’t think I’m an unsocialized loser per say, but I never really got how to attract women/pertain to them more on the level of just a friend lol, and I don’t think parents can really give any useful intervention to change that outside of platitudes/emotional comfort.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:37 PM
3

Yeah but how exactly do you “intervene” though? Outside of generic conversations that the kid is prob gonna be embarrassed to have anyway, I don’t think most parents can effectively help their kids with their struggles dating besides offering support/platitudes.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:35 PM
19

It really does seem like you can’t win outside of approaching at the most common places like bars or clubs. Everything else gets labeled “no not there, she’s there to do an activity.” 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:03 PM
1

Carrying bear spray on a hike gets me for some reason 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 12:42 PM
85

Well, we are told not to really approach women mostly to not bother them. So if you don’t really go to places where approaching is more acceptable (bars for example) then it’s not surprising that guys don’t approach.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 12:36 PM
1

But you are also more likely to hear about the late bloomers than the ones who just hide in shame so I think it’s biased. I can’t find the stat now for some reason, but I think there was a study showing that if you were a virgin at 25, you most likely would be for the rest of your life. So it seems that there is some truth in the idea that those who struggle will continue to struggle.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 03:11 AM
1

Yeah I prob do lol. It’s just hard when most of your attempts lead to rejections and the one chance you sort of did have didn’t go very well at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 02:57 AM
2

Well yeah it’s definitely a lot more difficult lol. But they are all interconnected where if you can’t get a date or kiss then obv you won’t be getting a gf. So if you struggle to get those you will have trouble with the rest of it for the most part.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 02:47 AM
1

Yeah but it seems typically it starts building young for a lot of people where as with older unsuccessful men they kind of have to get lucky/continue to struggle as humans end up creatures of habit. So if you struggled through your teens with it you prob will struggle through your 20s, and if you struggled in your 20s it prob will continue to your 30s etc. or at least that’s how it seems. So it doesn’t paint a promising picture tbh lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 02:46 AM
2

He’s almost certainly above average if women are consistently asking him out tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 02:21 AM
2

It prob depends on the type of loneliness. If they have male friends already and want a partner/romance it prob doesn’t help very much. A lot of male friendships are generally somewhat surface level also so that prob doesn’t help. And a lot of single men also have to worry about slowly being left behind if their friends start getting married which is usually what happens, so that adds to the pressure I think.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:28 AM
1

Most aren’t, but the numbers are trending up I think. I think 20 percent recently reported having 0 close friends, which is up from previous years. Not totally friendless though.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:27 AM
1

/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:26 AM
1

I think most men sucking at it is overblown. Most guys I’ve met/known besides a few friends of mine have been able to get gfs/ask women out successfully while I haven’t been able to, so I actually think most are somewhat decent at it while the outliers like me just aren’t very good at getting their attention.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:25 AM
2

When you say not born for it do you mean like destiny or something? Because I don’t really believe like meant to be or something I just believe stuff is random and things don’t work out sometimes. And yeah, it prob would be better to just focus on platonic relationships if dating is this difficult for me. I don’t really want to give up though, but it’s difficult when you get 0 results out of any of it. Perhaps it’s fomo or something but I really want to experience having sex/being in a romantic …
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 01:21 AM
2

You have a much better outlook than me I’ll give you credit lol. Personally I really want to experience romance and dating and the such and it’s hard to accept it might not happen. Now obviously I won’t just lie down and rot if it doesn’t, but things do seem a lot less fulfilling if I can’t succeed in those relationships, given my relationship with my family isn’t that strong, and my friendships are somewhat surface level.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 12:24 AM
2

Nah not really, I don’t really feel much duty to anyone. Perhaps if I was closer with my family or had stronger social networks/bonds I’d feel differently. In a way, I kind of like not really feeling any pressure to not let certain people down.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 12:17 AM
3

Any other struggling single guys here worry that even if they perhaps get lucky and get a gf that if the relationship ends you’ll prob be in the same boat for a while? Like if it takes me until age 22-23 to have a successful date/have my first kiss and all that, and then that relationship doesn’t last, which it most likely won’t bc most people don’t marry their first partners, having to repeat that process when you’re not exactly good at dating seems exhausting. 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 12:15 AM
1

Good ones seem worth it. The multiple relationships you will have to go through to get your life partner though seem to be tough. Most people don’t get lucky and find their life partner right away.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 12:11 AM
1

Yeah same lol. Stats show it’s supposedly more common for our generation (gen z) but most people I know have achieved some level of dating success.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/24 11:19 PM
2

Not really. A lot of people really want to have kids.

Humanity has no shot of doing anything going interstellar barring some ridiculous technology that makes traveling near the speed of light possible. Voyager 1 may be in interstellar space, but it’s also been traveling at like 11 km/s for ages now and it hasn’t even come close to traveling a single light year. The distances in space are way too large. Edit: Yeah I just looked it up and voyager 1 has traveled about 94 astronomical units, the distance between the earth and sun. A light year is a lit…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/24 09:53 PM

100 years is too long of a time to predict reliably. While it’s a blip in universe scale, it’s a long time for us humans. Everyone on this sub Reddit will be dead in 100 years.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/24 09:50 PM
1

Yes. Mostly because I’ve heard sex feels much better than jerking off, and bc of the validation aspect of a woman finding me attractive enough to actually have sex with me. My chances of obtaining casual are basically near zero since I can’t even get a relationship and casual seems harder , but I will admit it seems appealing.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/24 09:49 PM
1

That notion is unrealistic anyway. Guys without romantic success will still work bc they still like having our own money and don’t want to be homeless lol. They generally are less content than married men, but we can’t really determine is more content/successful men are likely to get married or if the marriage is making them more content.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/24 08:13 PM
1

Not super well lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/24 08:09 PM

Having to become a billionaire isn’t a realistic thing for anyone let alone ugly guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 11:28 PM

Absolutely. This applies to every skill/talent in life. Some people are just naturally better at things. Dating is no different.

Why didn’t you just drive the car on a road? Are you stupid?

You’re like a hamster.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 12:16 AM

Nah once you get into top tier status it doesn’t matter. Yes, not everybody likes sports, but it won’t be a significant enough difference in numbers where it’s gonna make an impact.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 08:22 PM

Allowing your kid to talk to someone else like that is crazy and so disrespectful lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 08:19 PM

It’s Long Island so public land is pretty close to houses. My guess is they saw him scouting out land with a bow and arrow lol. Either that or he’s an old school hunter who leaves the deer on top of their car after they kill it 😂

Please do not conceal carry in a purse lmao. There is zero chance she'd be able to get to the weapon in time if she was surprise attacked.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 04:19 AM

Yeah I agree it's great. The battery life is my favorite part. And ah that seems like an unpopular opinion lol I think if they made it even bigger it would start getting into ridiculous size territory but then again some people do love larger displays. Personally I love the phone the way it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 04:18 AM
1

Nah I don't think my hands are small but coming from the second gen se it was a pretty big difference in size yes. But between the Iphone 15 normal model and the plus it isn't a super large difference no. I think it's a 6.1 inch display for the 15 and 6.7 for the plus. I haven't held a regular 15 for comparison but it seems like it is still much more compact than the plus.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 04:15 AM
1

Yeah I liked it but the battery is pretty woefully small on it so going to a phone with a proper sized battery has been great. Wouldn’t recommend the 15 plus if you have small hands though, it’s taken me a bit to get used to but I love the bigger screen size+ large battery. Only thing I regret about not getting the pro is the 120hz refresh rate.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 04:00 AM
1

Having a kid just for the experience prob isn’t that good either lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 03:55 AM
1

Yeah that model isn’t very good. I actually went from that to the 15 plus and the battery life on this thing is amazing, it’s been a huge upgrade so far.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 03:55 AM

I don’t have a problem with that, but nobody was forcing you to be this hypothetical guys girlfriend the entire time anyway. Plus you seek out internet rage bait to prove your points.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 02:11 AM
2

Womp womp.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 01:53 AM

So just like before you were born? I don’t get why this is a massive revelation to some people lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 05:21 PM

Well if there is a designer they prob are incredibly flawed themselves, considering all the bs they decided to create the universe with.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 04:26 PM

Try to bury yourself in hobbies/exercise. It’s not a cure obviously but it works for me most of the time, besides the pangs of loneliness/empty chest feeling I get. I know it still sucks but that’s the best I got lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 02:28 AM

She’s prob just trying to be helpful lmao. My mom has said some stuff I thought was out of pocket but I realized she’s just concerned prob and doesn’t know what to say 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 01:20 AM

Glad things turned out well, yeah I have hope I will find a way eventually. I do think I’m doing well in some aspects, the uncertainty just scares me though.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 12:00 AM

That’s great, I love escaping from big city life. I hunt a good amount and my friend owns a hunting cabin and it’s great getting a nice cozy stay in a warm place far away from city life imo 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 11:58 PM

Yeah I see people say this but it’s hard when you are so unaccomplished/meh compared to some of your peers. I’ve hit some milestones but not many others that a lot of people my age (22) have so it’s hard not to compare. Hopefully I can feel more grown up eventually 😂.

As a guy who struggles nothing is really satisfying, don’t worry about offending us with those tips, we’re used of hearing them and can usually just deal with it and not get frustrated at the platitudes 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 08:53 PM

I agree with some of the top other answers. Therapy is kind of said just to deflect/get people to shut up. I do believe in its value, but don’t think it’s really supposed to be helpful for people who want to be more successful at dating. Asking for advice from more successful people in their lives is better imo.

It's not a need that you won't die obviously, but I do think it is pretty unhealthy to go very long times without sexual intimacy with someone. And I don't think jacking off really satisfies the urge for that closeness.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 04:02 PM
1

I mean I hope I'd be able to get good at it eventually lol, would hate to be bad forever. One of the best, sure, but I think becoming one of the best dancers of all time or fastest swimmer is significantly harder than being good at sex, don't ya think?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 03:51 PM
2

I mean at first yeah but I would like to think that after an amount of time I could become very good/one of her best. I prob wouldn’t want to be stuck at mediocre forever 😂.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 04:22 AM

Maybe not entirely happy with yourself, but humans are very social animals and we do tend to want to fit in/have social success. Sex can be seen as this somewhat, its validation from others that you are attractive to them. I’d find it hard to believe that a lot of people can go through their entire life without physical attraction being reciprocated and not get a little sad about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/24 11:58 PM
6

Because I’d like to actually know I’m somewhat skilled/am able to pleasure my partner to the extent where I’m one of her best. I wouldn’t like if I was just “okay” to her basically but she was happy enough with it. That doesn’t exactly sound inspiring.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/24 11:15 PM
11

I’d agree with sex not being love on its own but it is validation lol. It’s validation that someone found you attractive enough to want to have sex with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/24 11:12 PM

Hard to get those errors though when you barely are even able to get dates 😂

Eh I’d kind of prefer for my partner to at least think I’m one of her best. I’d feel pretty bad if she thought the sex with this one partner was super wild/invigorating/ and with me it’s just good but not that great. Maybe it’s bc i have no experience and want to be able to measure up somehow but I would like for my partner to think I’m one of her best 😂

I guess I can see your perspective somewhat. I am stressed though bc it's a sign that I'm quite behind the curve in terms of social development, not just FOMO. I also would like to see what being in love/what mutual attraction is like I guess. Also, as a man it's kind of expected I take a more active role/initiate with women, so I can't just really wait and say "if it happens it happens."
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/24 11:54 PM
20

I think it’s a little different when you are that young and have no experience. When you are 22 and haven’t done anything you start becoming a little more concerned lol.

I think it prob also depends on how much people are enjoying their lives/what they are doing day in and day out. I can see it going by fast if you are content/enjoying things. I struggle with mental health a good amount and get work down pretty easily so I definitely empathize with you there as in feeling time seems to crawl by. I do have periods of life where it seems to pick up, but then when I think of how long life actually is it slows down again lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/24 08:23 PM
1

Yeah when people say life is short I can sort of see where they are coming from but at the same time don’t necessarily agree. It’s definitely short in the grand scheme of things, but 70+ years is definitely a very long time from the human pov.

Don’t have much to say besides I hope it gets a bit better and that your week goes well.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/24 07:48 PM

Damn the bills really are ass can never beat this frog no matter what.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/24 02:50 AM

Oh yeah men are also very bad at being sympathetic to struggles with it. That’s why most men learn to keep it to themselves besides with people we really trust.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/24 12:56 AM

I think it might be bc they’ve had bad experiences opening up to women family members in the past. Now, I don’t believe every wife will leave their husband if he struggles with mental health/other stuff. But I can see where they come from, I have never received a positive response from people irl when talking about mental health issues. Just something to think about.

I haven’t lifted but I run quite a bit and had lost forty pounds recently and still haven’t had much if any luck dating, that’s why I think it’s down to my flirting skills/ability to create a spark. I personally think I have a decently attractive face but am unable to get romantic interactions so I assume it’s most likely the way I interact.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 11:29 PM

Maybe I will forgive em eventually, I just worry that if I can’t find any success by my late 20s/30s what their reaction will be. My mom made a comment to the effect of “You need to start trying to date, most people have had some relationships by your age” and that really stung lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 11:12 PM

Thank you, it does make me feel pretty horrible/an empty lonely feeling in my chest being the outlier in terms of romance in my family. Hanging up on you like that after asking is super rude/uncalled for though, hope you’re doing okay.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 10:59 PM
1

Yeah I often worry that my inability/struggles to get a relationship will make me more lonely later in life with friends also. Seems a lot don’t connect with their single friends once they get married and just hang out with other couples and the such. Obv I get why someone’s partner would be the main priority but damn does it suck sometimes lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 10:50 PM

Actually it’s funny bc I’m back here now just seeing how it is here since it’s been a while since I’ve been on here (2 years about).
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 10:45 PM

Sorry you know that pain too. My mom is similar about me not having a relationship at 22, she excluded me from vacation plans once with the family/my brother and his girlfriend because I don’t have a girlfriend.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 10:43 PM

I think that most men actually do try tbh, the competition is pretty tough, almost every man I’ve met around my age has had some casual flings or a relationship at some point, they don’t relate to me never having had anything. I think the idea of men just sitting on their computers/not doing much so you don’t have to stand out that much is overblown. I don’t think I’m one of the guys who are hopeless with women but it prob will take me much longer than usual to start having an active sex life/ha…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 09:37 PM

It is compatible with those sort of things but generally you don’t meet potential friends/romantic partners while camping/hunting and the such. Usually I need a group of friends who are already into those things in order to do them with someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 09:06 PM
6

Yeah I don’t disagree with most of the points besides the last point. It probably does have something to do with me personally if I haven’t had sex/kissed anyone by this age. There’s something about me that women don’t want. I do agree it’s a numbers game but I do think that it usually is something about the person after a certain point.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 09:04 PM
7

Eh, I don't think all men who struggle with women pedestalize them. I can perfectly get along with a woman on a platonic level/have a normal conversation with them, I just really struggle with flirting/being able to get them to see me in that way where they might want to go further/see me as a potential romantic option.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 06:29 PM
4

Eh, I just find me and women aren't that interested in the same hobbies/things we do for fun where friendships will develop. I'm into cars, hunting, fishing, etc. it's been really hard for me to find women who like that also, and it can be hard to establish friendship if you don't have common ground. I don't think you need to have opposite sex friends to empathize with their issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 06:28 PM

I think there’s a difference between settling as compromising and accepting you might not get everything you want in an ideal partner, and settling as in not being that attracted to someone but dating/marrying them cause you are afraid of living life alone. The former I don’t think is terrible, but I would hate to be settled for if it was the latter and that’s what my partner thought about me. I don’t think the latter is very common, but it prob happens a good amount of times still. Drive for co…

Possibly, I have heard that it's not that difficult to get engagement as a woman on there so it is a bit weird that guys just tend to ignore your messaging. Would you say you have an interesting profile? Sorry just trying to figure out anything I can here lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 09:46 PM
1

Yeah, most likely they were just swiping right on anything which I heard a lot of guys do. And yeah, it is uncommon for women to message first, unless they are on an app like bumble where they are supposed to message first. But even then I've heard they just say "hi."
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 09:17 PM

An elephant is also 6 tons and a wild animal that nothing can beat unarmed lol. Quite a bit different than a pitbull.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 09:15 PM

Maybe like 50/50? I don't think I'm ugly but I do think I look quite young/ have a baby face so not helping there. In terms of personality I struggle to flirt/show romantic interest effectively so I often just end up with a friend rather than getting any dates/potential partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 08:52 PM
1

Hmm I've never used dating apps so I can't give much useful advice there. I do think it is weird though that they would never respond after you matched and sent a message lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 08:51 PM
1

That depends. Also men prob are more likely to just hit on you rather than give subtle IOIs. Have you tried giving IOIs to any men you are interested in and seeing their response?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 08:19 PM
1

I guess I’ll answer from a guys perspective here lol. I think if you never get what tons of normal people seem to go through it’s prob that you are below average attractiveness to the opposite gender. For example I have never gotten IOIs from women that I might be interested in, subtle flirting cues, stuff like that. I see this described as stuff that happens to normal guys quite often. At a young age it can be normal not to have experienced it yet but it’s diff at an age where most have already…

I doubt it, it can just be difficult to meet a partner if you’re not in places where prospects typically meet/don’t like the places that are typically suggested (bars/clubs).
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 07:58 PM
1

Some people also just seem more approachable than others. Like some just seem more intimidating/in a bad mood while others seem opened to being approached. It’s hard to judge and a a lot of guys would rather just not risk it and not approach.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 07:53 PM
1

Yeah it is difficult. I think the fact that you are willing to try to find something that would maybe help though is sweet, I understand it sucks when the person gets hurt by something meant to be helpful. As I said, it’s difficult for people to relate to my issues in that way so I generally appreciate the attempt, even if it doesn’t come across well.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 07:25 PM
1

Do you hear that online a lot? I think experiences tend to get exaggerated online/only the negative ones get posted. I actually don’t think it’s very common for women to get hounded with attention just out running errands unless they are maybe like model looks. You probably will need to go to places where an approach/attempting to date is expected if you want to get more attention. I understand that’s tough if you are not a club or bar person though, I’m a guy who doesn’t really like bars or clu…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 07:08 PM
1

Ah running errands prob won’t get much obv since most will rightfully assume that you want to be left alone while running errands. Sitting at a cafe might have a bit more of a chance if you seem open to conversation I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 06:53 PM
2

Are you at places where guys might feel comfortable making an approach frequently? Obviously the no effort part is hyperbole, but I do believe having the passive role is a lot easier than having to be the intiator.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 06:48 PM

It’s a little different bc most people aren’t going around owning elephants and tigers lol.

Just watching football playoffs with my dad most likely.

Is improving to try to get dates bad/harmful. I have heard that you can lose motivation if it doesn’t end up working out, which I guess somewhat happened to me. I’ve improved physically/weight loss wise quite a bit with hopes it might increase my chances but it hasn’t gone so well so far lol. So far I haven’t lost the motivation to continue but wondering if longer periods may change that.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 04:13 PM

I guess I’d like some empathy/try to understand where I’m coming from. In their defense it’s hard to relate since most had a handful of experiences by my age (22), so any response they give is prob gonna be somewhat platitudes. Most don’t answer the way I’d like them to, like I said though it’s easy to understand why given the reason above. I’m not sure what exactly would make me feel better at this point besides actually obtaining some success.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 02:15 PM

Ehh I somewhat agree besides the part about insecurities being caused by other men. I’ve never heard another man call someone a Manlet that def is more of a women thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 02:59 AM

Not about screaming but I do get intrusive thoughts about laughing or doing something really dumb/awkward during important events and similarly then I have to make sure I watch myself the rest of the time so I don’t ruin everything 😂.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 01:57 AM

I think it’s easier to find someone here if you are accomplished/high-status and stuff like that. For mediocre/people who don’t stand out much like me, you start to feel like an NPC after a while 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/24 12:15 AM

I think NYC is too high pressure for me in some ways lol. On top of the COL there’s lots of men here who are super accomplished/high status which isn’t me so I guess that somewhat offsets there being more women in the city than men. Like a small fish in a big pond in some ways lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/24 10:54 PM

Definitely uncomfortable lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/24 10:48 PM

I’d recommend the IPhone 15+ (know you said you’re a Samsung girl though lol) if you want an absurd battery life mixed with good camera and stuff. For Samsung I’ve heard the s23 ultra is pretty amazing too fwiw so I’d go with that if I were you.
