I would feel more inspired to read your very long post if you wrote with better grammar (you have run-on sentences and poor capitalization for example). Someone who writes with poor grammar does not come across as a very brilliant thought leader. I’m trying to help you, not insult you.

You said “suppress estrogen” in your first sentence. I am not surprised you intended to say suppress testosterone. But really what it does is it prevents the conversion of testosterone to DHT, which is more potent.
/r/MensRights17/03/25 10:48 AM

Why would trans women want to suppress estrogen? And the article says nothing about it suppressing estrogen, does it? My understanding is that it increases estrogen because testosterone is converted to two major byproducts: either estrogen or DHT. Since Finasteride prevents the conversion of T to DHT that means more E is created instead.

Yes. I chatted up a young woman in the gym, and we talked for like 10 mins or so. At the end I said “I’ll get your number, we can hang out sometime.” To that she replied “actually, I’m a minor.” I replied “oh then I must refuse.” And I walked away without another word. A few days later a guy aggressively asked me “hey was it you that asked out my girlfriend?” I said “which one?” He pointed to a corner of the gym. I said “yes.” He said “shes 16. why are you asking out a minor?” I said “I didn’t k…

That’s a shame. Perhaps if I reworded it from “women are the more common victims of this crime” to “women are the people we consider to be victims of this crime” it would be more obviously accurate.

Undeserved prison time, permanent reputational damages, and irreparable damage to the relationships with every person that you love. All of these are arguably worse than temporary physical discomfort or pain; they are individually more comparable to being permanently physically handicapped. And I’d need to see evidence that being raped is more traumatizing. I suspect that we punish rape so severely not because it is more damaging than all of the other crimes because rather because women are the …

Holy shit. We need to go back to nature where women gain resources from men only insofar as they are providing value in the short term. If you want my money you better be giving me something that I want too. In the present tense. And I’m not talking about sex.

Do I really have to explain this to you? People here are complaining about the “law” that they therefore have already acknowledged to exist. You can’t complain about something that you do not already know exists. They are saying the laws should be changed not that the laws do not exist.

So you seem to think marriage = 50/50 assets splitting? Marriage is so much more than the financial aspects, much less that particular financial aspect. There is a public declaration of togetherness, a promise of commitment (and often sexual loyalty) to each other. There is (usually) the shared goal of producing children. So you cannot say that that is “what marriage is.” The 50/50 assets splitting is NOT inherent to the concept of marriage, historically it was not part of marriage, and I have a…

Asking someone to stay at home does not hurt their prospects. Them choosing to (listen to the man and) stay at home hurts their prospects. The math is based on the numbers provided in OP, all of which would suggest that the man has a more positive financial impact on the “partnership” than the woman.

The better question is “what is the future of marriage”. The future of marriage is that it will be entered into with decreasing frequently (or prenups are used with increasing frequency) until the laws are made fair. Men will start (rightfully) regarding other men as simps if they get married.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 03:46 PM
1

Of course. The value you provided here is in making me aware of this as something to look into not in providing legal advice.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 03:25 PM

/r/MensRights07/08/24 02:30 PM

To simplify the conversation motherhood and child support is not a factor here. Only assets splitting. I specified this in OP.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:53 PM
1

The value of work such as chores and childcare can indeed be estimated. For example, how much does a babysitter cost?
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:52 PM
2

So you refuse to show me the math that demonstrates why it’s fair and continue to merely make an assertion. Got it.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:49 PM

No, but my point is that the burden would be on you to explain why marriage should include an agreement that is clearly unjust from a “what does each partner bring to the table financially” perspective. Tell me what tasks the woman did that should justify her getting half in the example provided in the OP.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:38 PM
1

Agreed. But it should (basically) never add up to exactly 50/50. Instead, mathematics should be done using estimates of the value of each partner’s contributions to the marriage.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:35 PM
2

If you’re going to argue that if you signed an agreement then whatever is listed in the agreement is “fair,” I simply disagree with you. Fair is not the same as enforceable. I am arguing that the marriage agreement is unjust, NOT that it should be unenforceable. For example, if I randomly came up to you with a document that says you must give me 100% of all of all of your money and I do nothing for you in return, why wouldn’t you sign the document? The answer is because it’s unfair and it would …

I didn’t stipulate that we’re married. I’m saying, you, as a random person that I know only through Reddit and me as another random person that you only know through Reddit. We are strangers to each other and not married. And I tell you to quit your job. Should you be entitled to half of my money? The burden is on you to explain why it should be different in marriage. To put it another way, you seem to think that if a person hires a maid they should be forced to pay the maid half of their money,…
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:17 PM

You’re describing how things are, which I implicitly acknowledged in the title of the post. I’m arguing that that system is unfair. There is nothing in the example provided in the OP that suggests the split should be 50/50.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:14 PM
1

The assumption should be that each party gets an amount proportionate to what they earned. There is nothing in the example that suggests that the woman did tasks whose value added up to as much financial value to the relationship as the man.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:12 PM
0

This is an incomplete argument. For example, if I tell you to quit your job, should you be entitled to half of the money I make?
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:10 PM
1

That is not ideal at all. Ideally each person gets an amount proportional to the value they provided to each other but in the case described in the OP the only numbers available suggest that the man earned much more than the woman.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:07 PM
1

“Because Joe asked her to care for the household” is an incomplete argument. For example, if I ask you to quit your job, does that entitle you to 50% of the money I make?
/r/MensRights07/08/24 01:03 PM

+1. It would have to be $1m to approach 50/50.

In most cases the man brings a higher income than the woman because women select men based on that metric.

“She’s entitled bc he told her to stop working.” This is an incomplete argument. For example, if I tell you to stop working does that make you entitled to my money? To your other points: if it’s so complicated, why are states able to account for differences in income and many other variables when calculating child support?
/r/MensRights07/08/24 03:41 AM

Even if there is fault on the man’s part, the 50% is unjustified.

/r/MensRights07/08/24 02:11 AM

In almost every case it shouldn’t be a perfect 50/50 split.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 02:10 AM
5

Agreed on all points. It would be convenient and solve many big problems if the default was fairer, though.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 12:54 AM
6

Correct, and it’s a problem that the only way to get a fair agreement is to do something that is a turnoff for both parties. A solution that creates an even bigger problem is not really a solution at all.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 12:51 AM
5

Your first point is not relevant to the argument. Your main point is technically correct in the sense that “it was stupid of him to sign the unfair contract.” But it doesn’t change the fact that the contract itself is not fair. I agree that without changing the laws the way to get a fair legal agreement is to draft a custom one (prenup). But it would be better if the agreement was fair by default.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 12:48 AM
6

Agreed. Imagine two parallel universes with the same woman. In one universe she marries man A that makes $100k and in the other universe she marries man B that makes $200k. The household tasks she does for the household are identical in both scenarios. In both scenarios a divorce occurs. I don’t see a reason why she should deserve more money in the second scenario than in the first scenario.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 12:43 AM
6

Although I did grant that in this case he told her to drop her job, she ultimately made the choice to do so.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 12:40 AM
5

The problem is that discussions about prenups are turnoffs for many women and, as I am arguing, the default 50/50 split is unfair.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 12:35 AM
4

Agreed on all points.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 12:32 AM

By that logic let’s abandon capitalism in favor of communism. If you truly believe that there is not a positive correlation between how much you get paid and how much value you provide to the people that pay you, you’re beyond saving.
/r/MensRights07/08/24 12:30 AM

If the relationship ends the barista should indeed be entitled to money after a divorce. But you fail to explain why they should be entitled to half. For example you wouldn’t pay a servant half of your money. And where did I claim that baristas shouldn’t earn a livable wage?
/r/MensRights06/08/24 10:12 PM

“A prenup exists to protect what each person had BEFORE rheumatism marriage.” <—— Not true. That is merely one possible effect of a prenup. You can absolutely use it to determine who gets what assets that were acquired during the course of the marriage. And the whole “you’re married now, so each person should be considered to own half” is not a just policy. Why would it be fair for a person that makes $1m/yr to be forced to give half of the money they made to some person that is dumb as rocks an…

It’s one thing to say “I’d prefer that no one else is in this dark woods with me” and it’s quite another to say “I’d rather a bear be in this woods than a man.” By conceding the first you’re not “essentially agreeing with the whole man vs bear rhetoric.”
/r/MensRights06/06/24 04:06 AM

But the “no, I’m not saying that” response that you recommend is almost the same as the “of course not, but…” response that OP is criticizing (e.g., OP says “don’t do [say] that!”).

I enjoyed it too. But is it realistic for the best fighter in the story to be a woman? And is it a good thing for women to be shown role models who are “the best in the world at” doing something that, in real life, it is impossible for them to be great at?

/r/TheRedPill29/06/22 01:18 PM

A few nights of sex isn’t worth sacrificing your integrity. By doing this, you will be a cause of a lot of suffering, and you will perpetuate this culture of toxic women that we all lament here. Your description of him “looking like a cuck” is just you dehumanizing someone that you are doing something terrible to. Don’t help this woman betray your brother.
