I really don’t see how that’s the case.

I guess I just didn’t really love her anymore. She would get on me for everything. I would sleep in and she didn’t, I wouldn’t work out like her, I would eat a burrito or pizza or whatever, and instead of encouraging me to change or suggest things I could do she would nag me and call me spoiled or blame my behaviors on depression or medications, when really she just made me miserable. I was always on edge that she would be upset over something my parents said or did and it was never enjoyable wh…

Ive been reading and pretty sure she’s a narc. Those controlling tendencies or thinking she can do things better than I can are all signs.

But how aren’t those things controlling? She thought she could do everything better than me and my Mom and wanted all control over those things. I think that’s the epitome of controlling.

She wasn’t pregnant when I divorced her. I got the lawyer when she was pregnant but she didn’t know. I filed for divorce and custody shortly after the baby was born. My Mom didn’t urge it as much as she just agreed that if my wife wasn’t in the picture, she and my Dad would be able to make more decisions for the kids and help me and see them more than once a week. My Mom can now take my son to school and the kids activities instead of my ex wife and that makes happy bc my Mom gets more time with…

I found those things that she wanted to do controlling. Like she wanted to dress the kids a certain way and wanted to pick out their clothes. She liked the house kept neat and clean always was just really rigid. She liked the kids to eat healthy and was in charge of what they ate and spent hours finding new recipes for them( not anymore obviously bc I have them half the time). I found all of that so controlling. I did expect she would include my Mother and ask for her opinion and help, Bc she as…

I confided marital problems in my Mom and Dad. just think we had differing views on family after we had kids. She wanted to develop a nuclear family and I made it clear I wanted my parents to be more involved. We didn’t agree and my Mom was often disappointed and that caused a strain. She helped me to get an attorney and a house.

When we first got together, she was just so nice and outgoing and we had so much fun together. When we had kids, she focused so much on the kids. I wanted my parents to be more involved than once a week and she wanted to “be our own family”. That led to a lot of resentment. I couldn’t get over it. I figured my kids were little enough that they would be better off and can see my parents multiple times a week now.

She didn’t take them over. She just always did them. She wanted to cook, clean, do the laundry, do the landscaping, decorate the house, pick out the kids’ clothes, plan the birthday parties and activities.

Sorry bro. I wasn’t happy either but I guess maybe I’m thinking Thw things I wasn’t happy about were dumb. I didn’t like that she had a “once a week” rule with seeing my parents, dressed the kids, basically took over the household duties and decorating.

Thanks, I’m not worried that she won’t be fine. I’m pretty sure she’s fine now. She is the kind of person who is loyal to a fault and then reaches a point and is just done. You were married a lor linger. We were married for 6 years, kids 5 and 3. I do go to therapy and TBH, that’s where I have realized a lot of this. You say your wife changed and so did mine...but doesn’t everyone change? That’s life, of course people are going to change, evolve, according to my therapist. As an example, she did…
