It’s so interesting to me that we’re still having this conversation in 2020. Bras. First, the man who invented them really hated women. The most torturous contraption ever. We burned them in the 60’s/ 70’s. Along with flags. But it wasn’t because of discomfort. It was a symbol of freedom. We didn’t wear bras for yrs and no big deal. I know people are trying to invent a better mousetrap but nothing works as well as the dreaded underwire. And I need one at this age. Lockdown has been like living b…

Right? I think that’s the first clue to stay away from them. (But who pays attention those.)

Thank God texting wasn’t invented when I was... stupid. Way back a hundred yrs ago. I would call my... whatever. I could tell by the tone of his voice that he wasn’t happy it was me. I would be crushed. But, he taught me a very important lesson. The lesson... I don’t call/contact men. Ever. They want to talk to me they can contact me. And not with a “HMU.” And when some guy gives me their # I tell em right off the bat. I don’t call men. You want to see me, get hold of me. If they don’t, I just a…

Ha! A man pursued me for four yrs. That’s right. Four yrs. He was attracted to my toughness. He wore me down. I said yes. As time went by, I let my guard down and showed my “vulnerability”. When he dumped me, one of the things he screamed at me was “you’re weak and you’ll bring me down!” I learned a great lesson.

This is for the men reading this. Guys, we’re not waiting for you anymore. We’re not “settling” for LVM anymore. We are living our lives completely fulfilled. Without you. So shape up or find yourself a porch and some friends or you’ll be sitting there by yourself. As for me, I’ve got the cats, friends, and wine. And the heels. Just looking for the porch.

For me it’s like having the angel on one shoulder (my head) and the little devil on the other (my emotions). Took awhile but... always listen to your angel.

I never take money from a man. Once I do they will own me. I always take care of myself thank you very much.

If a man really likes you... He wouldn’t come at you with anything you have to put up with.

After reading all your comments I have to say... I am so lucky my hoe yrs didn’t have today’s technology. Although there was always the “photographer” who would pull the old “you are so beautiful. I’d like to take some pictures...” LOL! First I must say, Amen Sister. Ladies, NEVER, EVER SEND NUDE (or any comprising) PICTURES TO ANYONE! They are there forever. Not just for the asshole you sent them to. And a man will always use them against you in the end. Just DON’T. Wanna be naughty. (Do what w…

I went through the same stupid period in my life too. And even a relapse or two. But when we realize it and get back on track. We are all human. Just do your best. That’s all. And cut yourself a break.

Girls. Every stupid “mistake” is your greatest learning tool. Yeah... ya feel like an idiot, get mad at yourself, “woulda, shoulda, coulda”. But then reflect and figure it out, forgive yourself, and start moving forward with greater knowledge. And do better next time. Every human being fucks up. It’s just another lesson. People are only stupid when they keep repeating the same stupid mistakes. (Or is that crazy? Ha.)

Men wouldn’t cheat if women weren’t willing. (I understand being duped but there are ALWAYS red flags we choose to ignore. Guilty myself.) Told a friend once. Lost the friend. And other friends. So now, if their having sex right in front of me I’m deaf, dumb, and blind.

As soon as I saw this I said, NANCY! These were the comics I grew up with. Maybe that’s why I have such an independent streak. While other kids were just looking at the pictures, I was actually reading them. Got it. Thanks Nancy!

I am really sincerely happy you found a good man. (They are out there) But, let me say this. In the olden days housewives use to keep a “cookie jar” with “mad money”. Just in case.... for a rainey day. They knew to protect themselves. Every woman in every relationship (even great ones) should have their “Rainey day fund” cuz life happens and we can’t predict the future. Just saying...

LOL! I don’t remember Fairy Godmother saying that. (But I’m glad she said it now. She’s right.) Listen to your Fairy Godmother.

Always. Always. Always. Have you’re own account. Always. Have I said Always. You’re own bank account, safety deposit box, tin can buried in the backyard. That you keep an absolute secret. Tell no one. And not just for a rainy day for both of you. Just for you. The old what’s yours is his and what’s his is yours is BS. It’s always what’s yours is his what’s his is his. When/if things go south believe he’s got all kinds of hidden assets. (Unless he’s really a broke ass loser.) Save enough to be ok…

Absolutely. They call you a bitch when you stand up for yourself, don’t bow to their will, can’t be controlled, call out their BS, tell the truth. “You’re such a bitch” is music to my ears. It empowers me. Every “bitch” has only made me stronger. Hell, yrs later I’m invincible. “Bitch” only hurts if you let it. Take the energy of the word and turn it into your inner power. It’s exhilarating.

Whenever someone calls me a bitch I say thank you. It just doesn’t offend me at all. Reminds me I must be doing something right.

I’m currently working in a restaurant, owned by a boss I worked for 20 yrs ago. One night a couple comes in and the man recognizes me from the old days. Talked to me (and ignored his girlfriend) the whole meal. He told me he was divorced, broke, no car, etc... I made sure the girlfriend was included. (I hate when men disrespect their date/wife.) At the end of the meal the girlfriend went to the ladies room. He spent the time telling me he was going to dump her because... and it was so great to s…
