I’ve been ready to marry since the day I was 18, and have never gotten a peep of attention. I don’t know where women like you hide, but until guys like me find out you’ll just have to lump it.

It’s been over for Christian men in dating since… probably the 90s.

It doesn’t matter if you went to college or not, that age range of 22-23 is it. I can say from experience at 28, you will have to fight tooth and nail for the lowest quality women if you haven’t cleared that bar by 23, and even clearing it then is quite late.

Waiting isn’t good advice for men unless, like your boyfriend, they are physically attractive. Otherwise, they have to pursue.

As someone who did this, the therapists give one of two responses- “it’s not my job to help you date”, and then focus on whatever they think is the most pressing issue, or they talk to you and question why the advice they gave you didn’t work even though you did what they said.

The type who use reddit might not care, but people care, and they care a lot. Plus, guy nerdy and gal nerdy, while intersecting, aren’t overall the same.

About the answer I expected, thanks for answering. Hasn’t worked for me so far, because looking at all the nice girls I know, they… don’t have any friends that aren’t also married. It’s just groups of like 4 married couples and then the single people.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/24 05:51 PM

A question then- where are these supposed nice women at? I’ve met nice women, but I’ve never met one that wasn’t married already.

Look, male butter face doesn’t work. You’re decently facially attractive and in shape, probably makes you at least top 25%. I won’t post pictures because I’m ugly, but even at my thinnest my face couldn’t look as good as yours.

Just waiting to die, every goal I ever had was either infeasible from the get go or something I was doing to improve my dating eligibility. At this point, I’m just riding out till my parents pass away (still a long ways off) and then I’ll kill myself.

I’ve been to many therapists, and helping you date is something all of them will refuse to do.

Fair enough, but I can’t figure out what the issue when both the men AND women I’m friends with say I did nothing at all wrong.

God, I wish the women I knew were the ones inviting and setting things up. For me, it’s always been a week of teeth pulling to figure what the schedule of the woman is, keeping her attention so she doesn’t set anything up for our hangout for the whole period, and then keeping her entertained enough that she doesn’t bail after 10 minutes because some other friend/friends or whoever she is dating wants her time. It’s exhausting, and half the reason I don’t put much effort into friendships with wom…

Can’t speak for this person, but for myself: Hugging is an easy example. Actually, any touch besides handshakes or a Pat on the back are odd to me, because no one has ever offered me those except family. I’m probably a weirdo for it, but any kind of touch outside of the socially expected seems romantic. I’m aware of this, so I ask women I’m friends with to not touch me, and most don’t have an issue, but some have gotten deeply upset with me over it, usually leading to loss of friendship. Talking…

Question for you- I’m out at a bar, which should be an appropriate location. How do I tell if a woman is open to approach, especially if she is with a group?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 09:02 PM
2

Okay, serious question that I’m trying to figure out. I’m at a bar, there’s a woman I’ve seen dance with multiple men throughout the night who don’t seem to be in the group she’s a part of. At some point, we end up sitting next to each other at the bar, and I say “hey, how’s your night?”. I get a drink thrown in my face. I’m about 7 cases of this at this point, with months in between where I avoid talking to anyone outside my group when I go out. My friends swear up and down I did nothing wrong.…

You mentioned the most obvious cases, but as a socially stunted mutant who constantly has people try to talk to me while doing my best to show signs I don’t want to talk- what are the signs of not wanting to talk?

May be, can’t say for sure. At the end of the day, I’d still say facial attractiveness trumps all.

I think there’s just a certain group who is always interested in the big ones. While it is a bit porn-brained in itself, look into the popularity of Bad Dragon toys. While I think there’s more normal sizes of those, the majority of them aren’t made for ladies interested in normal sized equipment.

I’m going to disagree for the simple fact that I was overweight in high school, dropped a bunch of weight in college, and nothing changed for me dating wise. I also know a bunch of guys who are skinny or actually in shape who have never done well. It’s face+a bit of personality. Especially living in Texas where everyone is fat, you’d think healthy weight women would pair up with healthy weight men, but that’s just not the case. A lot of healthy weight, pretty women paired up to fat dudes with de…

As a man, this is how my life goes, although it’s not objectification, because I’m ugly. The women I’m friends with ignore me unless I have utility in the moment, I’m ignored and blown off at work and have to toot my horn for recognition, and I get stared at all the time, I’m assuming in a “look at that freak” way. I don’t intend to downplay being objectified, but just show that these things aren’t only coming from that.

I mean, as a Christian, when it comes to adults there are so few virgins in the pews it’s a terrible place to go looking if that’s what you are after.

So I can’t speak for anyone else, but smiling isn’t something I do much. It’s mostly tied with laughing or really positive surprises. It’s not really something I do intentionally, and I personally can’t think of many cases in my life of people intentionally smiling at me either.

We can hash it here or in DM, I don’t care. I know I’m a loser, doesn’t hurt my feelings.

I can try to answer on this, as someone who has claimed it in the past. As far as family, I’m close with my family, but my family is the type that put blood over all else in general, they’d still love and back me if I was a murderer, which makes their live feel like a given. On the other hand, when I look at friends, I have to put in constant work with no reciprocation. Most of my friends from high school dropped me as soon as they got a stable relationship. Only one didn’t, and even then, I alw…

Currently I’m on the outs with my friends, but I had a core group in high school and college- made absolutely no difference. It was rare to get introduced to anyone new, and generally it just took a 5 minute conversation to figure out that not only did they not mesh well with the overall friend group, but that they were generally so different from what I would consider dateable (and vice versa, they disliked me quickly too) that it was pointless to even try.

It’s just a case of comparing wants vs reality. The US is full of fat people, and if you don’t like that anyone thinner can suddenly become more attractive to you. On a personal level, I generally agree with the idea from the simple fact that most thin women I see also have pretty faces.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 05:07 PM

No, it starts much later for that to be true, like somewhere in the 50s age group, where enough men have died/are in a committed relationship that the pool is diluted. Women have it easier until that point.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/23 12:29 AM

Fully agreed. However, I also think that both men and women are blind to how many people don’t fit into their views of average considering weight. Even if we stick to the “purely by looks” standard, people in a healthy weight range should immediately get a bump in how they are viewed.

I mean, considering the girl o had the best chance with was the one who stabbed me, I’m going to go with not even being able to attract the abusive person as worse. I’m not even a good target apparently.

Uhh, if you’re really juggling as much as you say, you are by definition attractive. Maybe not through looks, but something about you is attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/23 02:14 AM

Assuming moral/political views are halfway similar, absolutely. Only woman I ever knew to have interest in me fit this IMO, but her moral views differed too much for it to be worth pursuing.

I’ll give you young to an extent, I think the age of the man plays a part. For myself? I’m in my 20s and I’d be interested in all of the women except the last two, due to age. The third to last one I’d be attracted, but probably wouldn’t approach.

Can’t get much more conservative than where I live, and I am highly involved in religious activities. However, there’s what in my church we call “the gap”- kids come to church with their parents until 18, and disappear until they have kids, at which point they return. Those of us men who stay during those years are considered boring losers. And going to a more conservative country? There’s an issue there- it’s a different country, a different culture. Their conservative is not my conservative. P…

To point one, I’m a conservative, there’s nowhere to move to. This is the reality- to find someone with similar values and religious views, going to a city makes it pointless. I’d be willing to change if I could even have a conversation with the (as far as I can tell) mythical woman who hasn’t slept with 10+ men who isn’t married.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/23 08:25 PM

I’m not going to argue your view, but I think the idea of having agency over baggage makes no sense- it’s baggage because you can’t get rid of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/23 08:12 PM
1

No I haven’t, but I don’t see the point. Anyone decent married in college- and very few were decent then. When most available have double the average body count of my country, are overweight, and have kids, I see little point. If I could get over my need for companionship, I’d quit trying.

Ruder, more jaded, more baggage.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/23 07:15 PM
2

I disagree, simply because I think we have very different ideas about becoming “better” with age. I see people getting more jaded, and acquiring more baggage. I also think it’ll depend on where you live, where I am the majority of people are married by 28.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/23 06:27 PM
2

As someone who is 27, strong disagree. In fact, I’d argue everyone I’ve been around in my life has gotten worse as they aged, with the only people escaping it being the ones who married in the college age range.

Character is in the eye of the beholder, so I think it’s a pointless metric. And in the modern era, post the start of feminism, affirmation from a woman is hugely important to a man’s note worthiness.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/23 12:52 PM

Simple, there is no man of note in the modern era that is a virgin or struggles with dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/23 02:09 AM

I strongly disagree, it’s literally the most important measure of a man. It might be different in the world of women, can’t speak to that.

Ehh, he’s like me in the fact that something like that has way too many people for his liking normally, he only went there for dating potential, because that’s the only interest he had that involved women, which loops back to my original post.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 02:20 AM

I went with him once or twice, he was always social- and from what I saw, never did anything clearly wrong trying to date, there was just zero interest given.

I don’t think the idea is wrong, but I agree with others that most niches are going to be heavily dominated by one gender, and hey- if your the only guy in a woman heavy niche, that’s great, but otherwise you get screwed (and not in the good way). Your example of raving has a good gender split, but looking at my college roommate, it never did him any good. Why? Wouldn’t touch a drug harder than weed and couldn’t dance. He was mostly there for the music (that was his major).

I’d be curious to know stats for Japan. Here in the US, we have CDC statistics, and while people differ in how much they trust those, it’s at least something. For Japan, I can’t find much besides magazine surveys and one done by a condom company, both of which I’m not too trusting of.

Mind if I ask some questions? In your view, what would be a more realistic view of how women are? I’m hoping for a generalized archetype if possible, rather than the classic “people differ”. On finding ones dating market, is there any suggestions as to how to find it? Because I don’t get the idea that there is a market for the type of woman I like, but I’d like to if I can.

I’m feeling the urge to post something right now, but I haven’t because I’m not even sure what to say. It’s not something people can give advice for, and it’s a vapid and stupid thing to be stuck on, so I’m scared people will ignore it. But that’s just how it goes- I’ve found few people in my life who actually care, and of those even fewer who actually understand. My Dad seriously makes an attempt, but if we hit the mental health wall or start talking about dating it all gets flushed. And he’s g…

You obviously don’t know my sister, haha. In this specific situation, dealing with it on my own would be best there. And I don’t think this is true love or anything, just an inability to control impulses. I’ve been working with my therapist to learn to better differentiate actual romantic feelings from everything else, and this has been a huge setback.

Limerence sounds like it. She’s definitely not part of a healthy future, that much is clear, I think my brain just gets stuck because there is one thing I’m missing in my life which would be easy to fill with her, although it would definitely be unhealthy. I’ve been doing good the last couple of days at avoiding it, but I can’t block that app because I use it for work purposes.

My thinking side is against ever having contact with this person, but my lizard brain won’t let me quit thinking about her. There’s more red flags there than a communist convention.

I guess I wasn’t clear- this person is not someone I should have contact with, but I’m feeling compelled to anyways. I don’t want to give more details (last time something came up ~5 years ago someone ended up contacting her despite me not giving identifying info). I need help figuring out how not to feel this way, or a good way to distract myself.

I have something I need a bit of help with, and I’m not sure where to turn. A woman I used to know came back into my online radar. I’ll spare the details, but I haven’t had contact with her since I was a pre-teen, a time period when I had a huge crush on her. However, since then she’s gotten involved in a lot of stuff that isn’t too good. My problem comes in that seeing pictures of her again brought back all those old feelings, and new ones. Every time I see one of those pictures it practically …
