How did you use FMLA? I'm in California for reference.

I know you don't want to hear this right now, but try to make peace with it all. Make sure that you vent your frustrations among men groups or here. Approach all the next steps as logically as possible. And make sure that you show up for your kids as much as you can. Try to be patient and strong. And when you can't be, reach out for help amongst friends and family. Hang in there brother

Personally... I would never choose to become a half-time Dad without fighting to improve the relationship first. But ultimately, you need to do what is right for you. My vote is for therapy. Couples and otherwise.

Why the 2-2-3 works for my ex? She is living like a teenager again... Both her parents and her uncle are retired and help her with the kids... According to my 5-year old, she doesn't cook food or clean. She just gets to spend time with them... Which makes her custody time super fun and engaging compared to mine...

I wish... Ex was not willing to budge on the 2-2-3 schedule... My little one is only 16 months old. My lawyer told me that if it goes to FCS, 90% of the cases get assigned 2-2-3 custody schedules for her age... I'm hoping I can reevaluate in 3 years or so... Hopefully go to week on, week off. But you're right.. I barely have the time to grieve, sleep, food prep, then boom. Back to 2 kids and one dad for a few days.

Another walkaway wife... Hang in there man... Protect your children and your heart. Love is an action and a choice. She is choosing to love herself only. You need to do the same now, and love your kids more. Show them what commitment means by committing to them.

First of all, breathe. This will not kill you. You won't feel it, but you are safe. You will be experiencing grief of the same kind as if someone you love has died. This is totally normal. You will want to embrace the process. Try to avoid alcohol, or other substances. They might numb you for a while, but ultimately they prolong your suffering. You can get through this. And there is still a beautiful and fulfilling life for you at the other end of it. Lastly, I'm so sorry. I know there will be h…

I was/am in the exact same position as OP and I cannot agree with this comment more. With one additive, that you be the man you should've been for you and for your daughters. That way, when she still leaves you, and her behavior turns to selfishness, you still have the motivation to be the best man you can be. Embrace your inner change. Of course you didn't choose this, but who knows... Maybe she is doing you a favor? Stay strong brother. Find a group of men you can grieve to. Don't grieve to yo…

This is how my "primary" support speaks to me about my divorce... It sort of informed me of how emotionally stunted I am

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
